People who have a high risk of developing gambling addiction need discipline. So that such people do not lose everything they have or still owe creditors. In other words, discipline in following the rules protects the gambler from catastrophic loss, but it does not help to win at all. Because winning is enviable only from luck (in the casino). In what respect can such rules be wrong?

I wasn't talking about casinos. I was talking about sports betting and, to some extent, prediction markets, where strategies actually work and where you can actually make money over the long term. Furthermore, we're talking about people who don't play for fun, but are primarily focused on making money. When you play for profit, you might be under the illusion that discipline is crucial to making money. I don't deny the importance of discipline, but strategy is more important.

So I misunderstood what rules you mean. If there is some kind of betting strategy in mind, then it is better to observe discipline. Why? Because if you're wrong, then discipline won't help you, but it won't hurt either! If your strategy (rules) are correct, then discipline will help you win, but only if you follow your strategy (this reasoning is similar to Pascal's wager). Absolutely consistent with what I think, discipline does not induce victory or defeat, it simply directs you down a path where you determine how to behave in a given situation and remain firm on the rules you have established for yourself.
It helps you maintain a constant balance without significantly altering your economy. Anyone who intends discipline as a way to reap benefits or profits, in my opinion, is taking a wrong approach to gambling.

I think this has better discribe the whole essence of staying disciplined in gamble. However, to be disciplined in our gaming streak doesn't  guarantee us winnings, but rather keeps us in line positively in our games and also place us in charge of our game as to know when calling it a day when neccesary.

Again, their is no gambler that can be able to maintain moderate gambling life style  without having discipline in the picture. so in other not to get things mixed up, discipline do not only help a player not to cross boundaries in his games but also keep a player safe from gamble addiction.

Discipline is not what makes a gambler to win or to become successful long term but self discipline reduces the chance of becoming a reckless gambling, reduces the risk of losing above your target. For example, if you had $500 in your bankroll and you told yourself that you are only going to spend $100 for that day in gambling, lack of self discipline can cause you to spend or lose all that money or more than your budget but if you are discipline and abides by your rules, you will spend just the amount you agreed to spend, that's the importance of discipline, it doesn't help you win, it helps you stay afloat.

Without limits, recklessness will become the order of the day. Discipline is important not just in gambling but in every sphere of life. Most people who became addicted to anything were caused by lack of discipline. It is a discipline that makes people chase losses and gamble with more than they can afford to lose. That's right, discipline is not a way or strategy to win, the matter of winning still depends on luck, discipline is only one way to minimize losses and it also depends on how good and how good the plan you have made, if for example your planning is wrong then the possibility of your loss will still be big even though you are very disciplined in following the plan, so discipline is just a habit to keep following the plan and what determines the good or bad results is still the planning you have made.

This is an honest truth that a lot of gamblers still haven’t figured out just yet, many still believe that a good plan or strategy is just about making profits, and this is why, even with a good plan, they still end up making mistakes. A good plan/strategy should be more about protecting one’s bankroll and staying consistent without encountering any serious problems. Discipline can't overcome the house edge of the casino, so it's not enough to ensure profitability and winning for players on long term. Discipline will be essentially needed to ensure the gambler isn't going beyond his financial limits while gambling, what means he won't chase losses, won't borrow money to bet, neither adopt gambling as a source of extra income. He will still lose, anyway, in the most likely scenario, but it will be a loss he has control over.

This way, the gambler prevents himself from going bankrupt and from lacking resources to spend on another sectors of his private life. And if someone understands this as self-abuse, I think they are mistaken, because self-abuse is to expose yourself to addictive and impulsive behaviors.

I don't exaggerate the importance of discipline, at the same time wont underate its importance. The main reason why people speak of discipline as a serious subject is that discipline reduces the level of impulsive decisions we make in gambling. A disciplined gambler knows how to avoid chasing losses, when to quit, and, most importantly, knows how to stick with his budget. When a gambler does not do things this way, his actions affect the outcome. He wont be expecting to be in profit because those decisions will cause him to lose a lot.

Different people and different ways of how they discipline themselves when it comes to gambling; discipline, to me, can only help me minimise how much time I can spend gambling, how to effectively manage my greed level and bring it down to the minimum, and bankroll management, and it doesn't necessarily mean it's the best way to manage my winning rates.
