You should, and you should always do it. Even if, let’s say, you’re not paying rent or bills because you still live with your parents, you should still set aside the majority of your earnings and allocate only a small portion for gambling. Now, how do you determine spare money? Simple, that’s where budgeting comes in. Let’s say you only use 5% of your income for gambling, no more and no less. This is the simple truth that a lot of people fail to accept, for someone that's poor and unemployed I see no reason for them to be gambling because these are the people that take gambling seriously and end up losing the little they have which makes them frustrated or they get addicted because they are too desperate to win. Based on my experience as a gambler. Any amount of money that can let you gamble purely for fun with zero expectation of profit is what i consider to be spare money.
Yes, I have used my spare money to gamble, but it takes a lot of lessons before I know how to manage my funds.

Dude, every person/individual has their own management in managing their personal finances, which I mean by real salary money.
Some people carry out financial management such as household spending money, unexpected money, deposits/savings money, routine/monthly expenses such as children's school fees and so on.

Who gave advice to use your savings fund? funds for gambling should have been included in your monthly expense budget instead of taking from the savings fund, I think you need to consider that advice again, most gamblers today get advice is the money left over from your basic expenses and then use it for gambling and even a few percent not even more than 10% for safer funds and not excessive.

Where the heck do you hear others who suggested you to use your saving for gambling? Gambling is about you can afford to lose your money. This definition is already said that if you're not yet ready to lose your money because you use your saving fund.
The only stupid person who gamble use his saving. A responsible gambler will always allocate a few % for gambling purpose, and he will never touch his saving.

Gambling is very risky and losing is inevitable in gambling and as such using what one can afford to lose is the best way to handle it but that doesn't mean using what one can afford to lose will automatically make one not to get addicted no, if you gamble often and chasing your loss you will definitely see yourself addicted one day. Money we can spare are money that remains after we must have taken care of our major expenses or needs so anytime you have not settle your needs you should not gamble because it is possible you can lose it.

If as a gambler you are already struggling with allocating how much is right for you to spare to gambling then you might just be close to falling into addiction.

POV gambling as a place of entertainment is probably the best in my opinion, it provides space for us to be able to play without thinking about whether to win or not because we already have our own allocation for gambling,
it is lost because only entertainment or interesting games are played, winning is just a bonus.

But if the POV of gambling as a place to make more money, this will be difficult because we are forced to continue to make profits,

I disagree with both. Whether it's savings or our own money, if we use it for gambling, it's as if we're being given an unjustified choice. If we choose savings, it's as if we're forcing ourselves to gamble. Aren't we saving to buy something we want?
Whereas, when we gamble, we gamble at will or because it's our own money. People like this usually don't know how to manage their money well. In fact, they usually spend it quickly and aren't afraid to invest it in gambling.
My advice: if we really want to gamble, we should divide it from the start: money we need, money we've saved, and money for gambling.

You are right, you explanation made me remember an old thread about a man who bought a cup of juice for his wife but the woman rejected it and then the refund that the husband got from the juice sales person, he used it to buy a lottery ticket and end up winning the lottery, I don't know if OP can remember that thread but that's also a good example of what you can refer as spare cash. Another example, if you win a bet and decided to withdraw 80% of your total win and then keep 20% for later gambling, then you can still say that was your spare cash.

As a gambler you dont need to use all you have to invest in bitcoin, And you dont need to divide your salary into two in order to gamble, using half of what you earn to gamble, will make a gambler to lose much, due to the gambler will not have savings from his payments...so we need to understand that in gambling, it full of risk,
