You're just starting a thread about your thoughts without having the slightest clue about the subject. Saylor buys almost every week; if you knew that, you wouldn't have even thought of starting this thread. Here's a list of the purchases.

This is not the first time I see people advocate for less freedom and more rules. Not only here, many people do the same in real life. But they don't realize those freedoms are lost forever once they're gone.

Discrimination and racism is all part of freedom of speech. You can't have freedom of speech without someone else having the same freedom, and as I once read: freedom of speech is especially necessary for controversial subjects! You don't need freedom of speech to say bunnies are fluffy.

I think I'm usually pretty friendly, and I usually don't try very hard to insult people. But I can understand why others do that, and I highly value their right to do so. Let me advise you if someone replies you rudely, reply back rudely.
If someone replies you politely, reply back politely.
If you can’t give back same energy that the other person is giving you then ignore them don’t reply.
Lastly you can reply politely if someone replies rudely because it tells how matured and educated you are.

I can't count the number of times a person has called me names or been passive-aggressive to me on this forum. Sometimes I have a go at the person, but most times, I ignore because it's not worth getting worked up over. How do you even need to make a separate topic for something you could have told him on his thread and move on. Why are you giving Stragers so much power over your life and how you feel? Do you think doing that will make the person stop?

It's a public forum, with people from different kind of people, so don't expect that everybody to be nice to you. People would always challenge your opinion. If you're not ready to go low with them, then ignore, but if you're ready to go lower when they go low, then have at it. The point is, be ready to defend your POV when it is challenged and if you can't defend it, have an open mind and see how you can learn from the other person's POV.

I like to be polite and cordial when discussng with people, but if they other party isn't, I stay away. It's funny because you are not a polite person. Do you want to enforce saying "please", like INTERCAL did?

INTERCAL has many other features designed to make it even more aesthetically unpleasing to the programmer: it uses statements such as "READ OUT", "IGNORE", "FORGET", and modifiers such as "PLEASE". This last keyword provides two reasons for the program's rejection by the compiler: if "PLEASE" does not appear often enough, the program is considered insufficiently polite, and the error message says this; if it appears too often, the program could be rejected as excessively polite. Although this feature existed in the original INTERCAL compiler, it was undocumented.

I guess it is possible to analyze any given post, and check, how many "polite words" it contains. Or even some LLMs could try to estimate it better, than by just counting some words from a given dictionary.

But then, posting would be like writing an INTERCAL code: people will worry more about how they should say something, than about what they are going to say. Sounds like a good idea for 1st April, but nothing beyond that.

Before, i used to feel the way you are feeling right now until a reputable member on the forum told me something that completely changed the way i think. He said that if i kept responding to everyone who said things that provoked or annoy me, people would start seeing me as a troublesome person, which is true.
