If you were given opportunity to invest which would you go for?

Few weeks back I was in an argument with some people saying that they value landed properties than investing in digital currencies, but however, both of them are so much important to invest on, now investing in bitcoin doesn't give you any risk provided that you are holding for a long duration, same thing applicable with landed properties when you hold for long term especially the area that has been developed you would see your landed property appreciating so quickly than that of the digital currencies.

Based on the argument, I have believed that bitcoin investment is much worthy than landed properties, although this depends on the area of the landed that could make it to boost so faster than as we may think of. Undeveloped areas does not appreciates as we think so easily and even if you must sell when the profits might added it wouldn't the same as someone who invested on bitcoin because as we know is cyclic and also doubled with the halving has been concluded.

Both investments have been proven to be profitable. It now scales down to what the investor wants. For someone who doesn't trust digital investments, he can purchase a good number of landed properties and after a couple of years, development will come to that land making it more valuable than what he bought it at. Bitcoin is quiet similar in terms of profits making. Just that it's on a digital scale. Another reason why people might go for lands instead of bitcoin would be the fact that land doesn't depreciate. No matter how long it takes for development to occur, it's value only goes up and not down. They might consider this and compare bitcoins volatile nature as a yastic not to invest. But regardless of what we choose, they both will yield profits over time..

In as much as i always value landed property or real estate investments, but it’s all valued in fiat currency and our currency continue to devalue even though you may thing it appreciated, it indirectly did not because of the devaluation. 1bitcoin  will always be 1bitcoin and thats why  I’ll definitely go for bitcoin investment because you do not even need huge amount to start that is my first reason. It allows your to accumulate little by little spread across those years there but compounding to a reasonable amount.

For just 5 years, I will choose bitcoin. For many more years like 10 years or more, I will choose both bitcoin and land. I will prefer to buy bitcoin and hold and also buy land which means diversifying.

Real estate have always been the number one choice for almost everybody both the rich and poor from generations coming, it doesn't depreciate, it's value can remain where it is and most times it always increases in value. The only time that real estate can depreciate is if the location is not inhabitable anymore due to natural or man-made disasters, aside from that if you have a property you will be sure of being profitable either through rent or market value.

One of the best areas that Bitcoin investment is better than real estate is in terms of money, everybody likes real estate but not everybody can afford it but almost everybody can afford to enter into Bitcoin investment. Bitcoin investment is one of the most accessible asset for everybody to hold, you can hold any amount that you can afford and it is the reason why it's adoption is increasing massively. If I have chunk money I will buy properties and I will be doing my Bitcoin DCA strategy simultaneously, there is no reason why you cannot hold Bitcoin and at the same time have your own property. You can also hold tokenized real estate like the RWA we have different profitable options to invest our money into, always DYOR before buying any assets.

Both of the investments are good investments but they is another point of understanding when making a decision about investment which is selling points, your landed properties might be sold out as quickly as your bitcoin and at the same time your landed properties can be sold out lesser the value of it when you are in an urgent need of money, which that doesn’t apply to bitcoin. We all know in 5 years it’s more certain to get more profit in bitcoin investment than landed properties because in real estate profit are mostly estimated or expected after 10 years and above.

To me I will prefer bitcoin investment even though I know it’s very risky than landed properties because you don’t know when it will crash but still landed properties grow slowly while bitcoin investment can grab faster in 5 years  and a wise man once said the most profitable investment has higher risks while the safest investment has lower profits that is why it’s safe.

No matter how it is I still choose bitcoin investment because bitcoin is that safe to invest moreover when you have your seed phrase at hand and you could travel without anyone know what you are moving around with but, on landed properties if you are looking a way to relocate it would like not be able to move around it but you can sell out to have back your money.

Another major thing I believed is bitcoin could less risky because no one would have to sell off the land to another person and nowadays people joined their heads on a particular land without them knowing that the original owner might have sold it to another buyer and took money from different people and when the first buyer goes to develop it they could find it hard to start doing because the rest people who has already purchased the land could come up with case.

From my notice whatever bitcoin on your custody would not be sold out by another person except you misplaced your seed phrase before someone out could have your bitcoin sold out.

I would choose digital currency because it's easy to liquidate compared to regular property which takes a long time to sell, not to mention high taxes.

It depends on how the person chooses it, for those who know how to market property it will be profitable especially when the land is very strategic... if you can you can choose both.

I'm sure the majority here will choose bitcoin because it has a long experience, as well as the benefits that have been felt when HODL bitcoin in the long run, at least bitcoin already knows every time the 4-year cycle the price will go up.

Since you didn't specify Bitcoin as the investment one should choose with investing in landed properties, I will go for investing in landed properties. If it is Bitcoin investment, 5 years may not be enough if I want to hold cause the plan for me is usually from 10 years and above but in my country Nigeria there are areas in you can invest in landed properties you only need 6 months to make crazy profits because development is entering everywhere around there and people are building structures all over the place. So 5 years investment plan will be more profitable for me if I invest in landed properties based on my location and my experience in the business.

In 5 years bitcoin will probably appreciate more than most lands but it's not likely to happen to all, I've seen lands more than double in value in just around 2 months, the moment a particular establishment moves to a new region depending on what it is the value of the lands around it can move up very fast, plus people lose their coins more than they lose their lands.
I'm not against digital assets, especially bitcoin with ho much increase it has seen over the last 15 years and also with the obvious advantage it has to go even higher in the years to come, I believe people can pick whichever one they want or they can even go for the 2, there is nothing wrong with that too.

We are on a forum about Bitcoin and we are all Bitcoin investors. I guess there are not many stock or real estate investors here. Many of us have never even invested in them, and crypto is the only market they have ever participated in.

Honestly, looking at it from how real lives actually work. Five years is an interesting timeline it is long enough for Bitcoin to go through an entire halving cycle and potentially skyrocket, but it is also long enough for your personal life to completely change. If you have an emergency next year, you can sell a fraction of your Bitcoin on your phone in thirty seconds to pay the bills. You cannot cut off a corner of your backyard and sell it to a neighbor when you are short on cash.That said, there is a psychological peace of mind that comes with land that a computer screen just cannot give you. When the crypto market crashes 50% overnight, it tests your mental health in a way a plot of land never will.For me Bitcoin is the system for building momentum right now because it lets me start small. But the ultimate goal isn't just to accumulate digital coins forever it is to eventually turn those volatile digital gains into real world stability, like land. Never the less I'll invest in Bitcoin for the 5 years.

Investment really depends on people's priorities. If I have plans to own a home for my family within a specific period, I might choose to buy some land. It also depends on the location you are in. In some areas, landed properties appreciate more than Bitcoin.

Our individual personality also has roles to play. Some people are not risk takers. They will always want to invest in less risky assets, and land would be the best option for them. The exposure or educational level of an individual is also important. People who less educated or exposed will choose to buy lands than to be bothered with the perceived complxity of buying and holding Bitcoin.

Bitcoin will be my best bet to invest and keep in the next five years.

Permit me to go off course to talk about something people always fail to mention when they talk about the risk of holding Bitcoin.
The risk of the value of your Bitcoin dropping is so minimal as long as it's a long-term holding, but there are other risks that people don't talk about. There is the risk of losing your seed phrase, and also the risk of being hacked somehow, and your Bitcoin stolen.

If you are holding Bitcoin for a long time, that means you have to preserve your seed phrase for a long time. You have to make sure you don't lose it or expose it to other people. That on its own is a risk. Then you have to make sure your wallet or devices are not compromised somehow through phishing links and other means. So you see the risk? It's even funny that people don't talk about these since these are the only kind of risk you can do something about. There is nothing you can do about the price of Bitcoin falling, or rising, but there is so much you can to to mitigate the risk of losing or exposing your seed phrase and protecting your device and wallets. Self custody on it's own is a risk, a risk worth taking, but still a risk.

It's difficult to give an exact answer because there is never a general factor guiding both.
Just like you mentioned, landed properties can appreciate differently depending on the region/area of choice. Bitcoin on the other hand can appreciate at any point, depending on what's happening in the market. And it can also experience a sharp decline at any point even after that same 5 years. Imo, Bitcoin is likely to give you what you want_{(good profits)}, but it comes with a lot of risk, because even after that 5 years, you just don't want to get trapped, struggling with a declined price. Landed properties on the other hand, might not necessarily grow that fast compared to Bitcoin, but there are less risk. Nevertheless, both of them are worthy.

If you are sure of this profit from landed property within 6 months then it should be something somebody should choose first because in landed property any location that could pay you high profits in few months will definitely give you a fortune if you are leaving it for years. But in Bitcoin it might not be the same thing because since my currency is low I could use $20k and made up to $130k in landed property within some years based on the kind of high demanding location we are talking about but however if you invest the same amount in Bitcoin is not possible to see $130k in few years time, so actually the two of them are very important investment but environment is what guarantee more value in landed property than Bitcoin but however I have a high passion for the two investment.

This should depend on individual preferences and most importantly, risk tolerance. Bitcoin can give multiple times of your investment even in a short time but can you tolerate its risk? Not everyone can handle bitcoin risk of volatility. Landed properties are low risk investment but they don't appreciate in value rapidly.

Point of correction, saying bitcoin doesn't give you any risk if you are holding for long is entirely inaccurate. Bitcoin possess risk even if you are holding for a long time. Volatility itself alone is a risk that doesn't respect whether you're holding for long or not. If you're holding in exchange, that's another risk and if you're holding in a personal wallet, then you have a difficult task of securing your private keys.

Land property has its own risk too. No investment is actually 100% risk free. The fact that the risk is low or not popularly known doesn't make it risk free.

I would do both if given opportunity.

The challenge is this, to become a landowner is not an easy thing and unlike in bitcoin that anyone that has a small amount can easily go into, getting land in a good location that will easily appreciate is not something an average person can easily do. if you are resident in the city for instance, it would be really hard for you to buy an affordable land in the city but for bitcoin, regardless of your location, you can still buy as much or little bitcoin as you are financially capable of getting.

Many people assume that Bitcoin is the best investment just by looking at its huge past profits but in reality every investment has its own strengths and weaknesses. The biggest advantage of land is that it is a tangible asset that always has practical value whether for housing, business or future development. Especially when there is infrastructure development new roads industrial enterprises or city expansion in an area the value of land increases very stably in the long term. On the other hand the strength of Bitcoin is its limited supply rapid global adoption and the potential for high returns in the long term but since its market is highly volatile the psychological pressure is also very high. So in my opinion over the next 5 years the question of which is better is more important than how much risk an investor is willing to take and what his goals are. The wisest decision would be to invest in both types of assets in a planned manner to maintain a balance of risk and stability rather than seeing one as a competitor to the other.

It's a very hard choice. If i were to choose, i would invest in both of assets. You know i see property as an income-focused and Gold/BTC as growth-focused.

The fact that holding property ain't that bad consider it can be rented, and it's giving us yield. However, i know it's so hard to liquidate it.

On other hand, BTC/Gold is good, but this is possessing higher risk than property, but it's easy to liquidate, and have greater chance to growth our money through capital gain.

So it will be very balanced for me to have 50% on property and 50% on growth-focused asset such as Gold/BTC.

This is my 2 cents.
