   Andrés Escobar suffered one of the worse sport betting violence because he scored an own goal in the World Cup played in 1994, that World Cup was hosted by USA, 32 years on USA is part of a join World Cup host and what do you think have changed with violence in sport betting.

The story is popular told to me by family members older to me almost every time we watched an own goal because the cause of Escobar’s death was that he scored an own goal while trying to stop a cross from reaching his opposition team, it was an honest mistake but a mistake that cost cartel members to lose money.

Violence in sport may have trimmed down from that but it is still there, players are getting insulted doing their job, Rashford and Saka has suffered it when England lost in the euro final on penalties, Chukwueze suffered it when he missed a penalty in the Afcon nations cup semifinal. All these may not be completely because those doing it bet but some of them would have likely place a bet and lose then they become irritated.

Violence in sport betting can be domestic, partners can suffer, children, friends can suffer the violence of people who lost a bet.

@OP violence can happen with everything. Emotions are a little high sometimes when money is involved but we see violence everyday all over the world. The issue is people getting so angry so fast. When I was growing up, if you had a problem with someone you'd talk it out or have a fist fight. Now days if you got a problem with someone these silly people whip out a gun and start shooting.

As far as I know the player name was Andres Escobar. When the underworld mafia's dirty tricks and big money on the gambling board are intertwined with sports how dangerous the situation can become, his tragic murder is a very vivid and dark history of it. Because of that one own goal or wrong shot against America the cartel members were lost huge amount of money in bet. Maybe it was out of that anger that he was shot and killed immediately after returning home. This shows how much risk it is if you knowingly draw criminals on gambling board

The death of Andres Escobar was truly tragic, and it was the worst tragedy ever to occur in soccer.

Fortunately, in this era of soccer, there have been no similar cases, especially regarding a soccer player mistake which led to violence. Well, the Escobar incident is strongly suspected to have been caused by the perpetrator anger over his own goal error, which allegedly resulted in a major betting loss. However, if this allegation is true, it should serve as an important lesson to avoid betting that you can't afford to lose. Ignoring this can lead to someone being dark eyes, which means it can lead to very bad things, whether it is bad things to others, or to yourself. Therefore, try not to bet excessively, and try to gamble within your means to become a responsible gambler, and be able to control your emotions well.

You cannot stop the violence in sport because humans play football and bet on it. We are the problem of all these negative vices because if you don't get angry easily, you wouldn't think of mopping someone or use abusive words on him.

This is the darkest and most hidden side effect of irresponsible gambling. And this is what when appear every gambler usually close their eyes and ignore. But the real damage of gambling addiction ends up happening at the gambler's own home at first and immediately. After losing a big bet there are dirty screams and yells at the family, temper tantrums and even heinous incidents like beating up wife or children. People definitely take betting as a business mostly when it comes to the most important fixtures like the finals. We still have PSG vs Arsenal match to be played before the world cup begins and we don't know how the violence or the reaction of the fans and crowd would be. We hope however that such violence that could escalate from matches that are being better on, is reduced.
This is one reason why I don't like betting on a match I watch because it gets the emotional side of me. I prefer to use previous analysis to make my bets and ho do something else when the match is on, mostly when it is a team that's my favorite team.
Am hoping this world cup won't have any news of violence when favorite teams lose because it just means that violence in football can't be stopped in total, but only contained to some degree.

Online abuse and racist trolling that is being hurled at player like Saka, Rashford or Chukwueze after missing a penalty or losing a match this year is a bitter and very shameful thing. However I think most of this toxic behavior come from blind fandom. Fierce rivalry and extreme frustration of losing a match could also be the reasons for this. I do not think the acrobatics happen only just out of anger at losing a bet

But yes I will not deny that those who bet big money on a player from their pocket, the fire and temper inside them make this dirty trolling much more intense

Spectators do have emotional connection to the game, and would feel terribly bad over any player who added or contributed to the cause of losing a match. Although it's wrong for fans to attack or suffer a player on this ground, people do cry over losing a match with an emotional end, actions as dreadful as this tends to occur out of sad feelings. I believe the violence is toned down a lot compared to what you are saying from the history and the most violent thing that happens now is booing the players as well as the fans that supports their opponent and sometimes it can turn into a little more violent but people are there to make sure it doesn't turn into a big event by just removing them and escorting them outside of the venue as soon as possible.

Sports violence has reduced compared to the past. Many people now understand that sports are all about competition. And that in competition, one side will win while the other side will lose. We cannot change the nature of the game. If everyone has to win, it is no longer a competition. Allowing emotions and anger to control our actions towards a negative direction will not change the outcome of the match, and I feel it is completely unnecessary. Violence in sports betting is very real, and sadly some people allow gambling emotions to control them too much. At the end of the day, footballers are human beings and mistakes are part of sports. Nobody intentionally misses a penalty or scores an own goal. Look at how some superstar players like Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford received heavy abuse after missing penalties, simply because many fans and betters were angry over losing money or seeing their teams lose. I think you were right about domestic violence.  There are frighteningly facts about that.  In some studies, I found that there was an increase of up to 38% in cases of domestic violence and abuse when the national soccer team fails to win against a rival side, but the odds go up significantly when there is alcohol involved along with the losses from gambling.  Families suffer when the team suffers on the field.

Very true, argument is inevitable but its doesn't make sense if it leads to violence, because when people are into violence during their game can lead to death and after their emotions calms down, they will start regretting their actions. When they could have prevented it, sports betting is just a game, and people get to understand that for their own good and not to believe or see the players or their teams as if they are gods or some beings that don't make mistakes, as they will continue hurting themselves unless they change their mindset.
