I think the most crucial part is that when a gambler can't afford to lose the money he used to gamble. So he keeps coming back for the recovery purpose. It's what i have seen in my environment. When someone already lost, it pushes him to gamble more in order to recoup his money back.

I can say all of those reasons are right, however, the greed will always come when someone lose a lot. It gives him massive dopamit to think to keep try and try again with the hope he can recover his money, then leave from the casino.

I say this based on some stories in my environment.

There are many reasons why people gamble after they announced that they are done and it is mostly the financial reason, they just want to recover what they lost because they feel like one more magical bet will make it possible which is true but when that magical bet will happen? Maybe after another 1000 more bets before that big win.

Some people has stop gambling but there is one financial moment that can make them see things differently again and would like to give gambling another chance just to see if they can make it. I have once did it too but mine wasn't because I quit, I had financial struggle and gamble to see if I can make the money from betting but I loss even though the money I used was a small amount of money instead of looking for a better channel to get the money to sort it out.

I don't see anything wrong if people gamble as they like and when they want but the problem is that when it becomes a habit then it's no longer a fun thing but it's an addiction and it's very difficult to leave. Some people are gambling to make a living instead of doing it as regular thing that should be for the money that you should never expect because I don't think when people say they don't gamble for money is true but not depending on it is the best thing.

Gambling is fun which we are agree but the reason for gambling is very important. And as you said many people will gamble after a while because they thought or had a dream or some kind of sign that their financial struggle ends with one big win and it may happen but not necessarily. So hoping that will happen is the problem but one who does that with no expectation and okay with whatever outcome can just treat it as another bad or good day.

Sadly this coping mechanism isn't doing you a good service for you when it comes to things like this. This is why you need other ex addicts to talk with, so they can remind you what it's like.

2: From my experience, this happens when you are already gambling, not so often when returning to gambling.

3: To break habit, you need to change attitude and routines. Because without changing routines around your habitws, you are not able to break habits.

4: Illusion of control is a huge problem. We can't really remember what it's like and what made us lose the control in the first place, we you think it wasn't a biggie, even though we clearly failed it last time. That means only actual forceable rules are sensible. Stepping over them once should make your alarm bells go off.

5: Removing accessibility might remove your problem, but it doesn't help you when you are facing a new, similar problem.

The word I'm done is an action of emotions and not what many gamblers wish. I don't think a gambler that makes win on a regular with money all by himself will want to quit gambling but let it be the other way round and see how they get emotional because of the result and if you are very observant thats the time they say all sort of things because of anger, some gamblers even lock their accounts only to fund another casino the next day to try again.

If you see a gambler confidently say they are not gambling, know for sure they are coming back but they might not even come publicly or open up to anyone that they have disclose it to before they left. It's because of embarrassment and shame is why they don't show their friends they're back. I don't have problem with how people gamble, as long as you are making the bar, it's your choice to do what you want with gambling.

That inner hope of this time will be the lucky charm is another reason lots of gamblers keep on coming back . No matter how many times they lose, there is always that small belief that the next bet could be the one that changes everything. A person who quits after losing money and promises never to gamble again. Then a few weeks later, they see a friend win a big bet or see a jackpot winner online and they start thinking, What if I get lucky this time!! That thought alone is enough to pull many people back. Quitting gambling is not just about stopping the activity. It is also about changing the mindset that gambling is a solution to financial problems or a shortcut to making money. Once a person understands that, staying away becomes much easier.

This is exactly how greed influences people to return to gambling after losing through gambling the gambler thinks that he will be able to win more money the second time, as a result of which he will get back the money he lost and will make a lot more money. The gambler mentality of getting back brings him to gambling again and again. As a result of losing the gambler says that he will never gamble again but after some time, he returns to gambling again because the gambler could not maintain proper self-control over himself and returned to gambling even after losing repeatedly.

Personally I don't actually have a problem with those that went for a prolonged break and returned, because they've obviously healed from their irresponsibility in gambling and possibly are returning to be better gamblers. I get concerned with folks who decide to quit and returns almost immediately. It's obvious they don't even have control over what they do anymore, including making decisions. In that case, therapy is recommended and I agree that such a person needs immediate help.

Also talking about help, still within the confinement of affording it as some gamblers are not that buoyant enough to purchase such professional service, The government of countries that legalize gambling should ensure they make gambling therapy easily accessible to its citizens, but on a sad note, this isn't the case, especially in third-world countries.

Personally, I really don’t have any problem with people who choose to take a long break from gambling and later decide to come back to gambling. Sometimes this doesn’t depict addiction or inability to stay away from gambling. Sometimes it could also mean the gambler has reflected and regained some level of control, this way they’re in a more better position to make better decisions.

The truth is that we can't explain all the reasons why gamblers keep retuning after saying "I'm done" because their might be other reasons aside from all this ones we listed here, which is best know to them. But if I can guess correctly, it's because of their expectations. some gamblers already set their target that very day they started gambling, some gamblers might be going with the intention of building a house through gamble so after gambling to some extent and they see that there expectations is now becoming hard to meet, then they will decide to quit but after some time they will still flash back to their target, at that point they will be tempted to try once more with the hope that it will not be like the first time and sometimes the second time will be worse than the first, so we should always learn how to stick to our gambling decision especially the ones that will help us.

Exactly that has been the major reason why a lot of gamblers are still returning to gambling after saying they won’t gamble anymore.But in the real world it’s quit impossible to recover all the losses in gambling,whatever amount you lost should be accepted although it hurts to lose in gambling in as much as that you can’t reverse the time,so it would be better to move on and gamble on the purpose of starting a new game and not on the other game that was a loss.Gambling responsibly starts with accepting your losses likewise the way you accept your wins.You can’t recoup back your money in the gambling industry,whatever money you’ve lost is gone forever.

I can compare this with the jobs that we're working with. When we're feeling bad beat and it makes us mad, we'll also say that we're done with this job. But, we'll eventually go back because it's an effect of how emotional being we are. We say negative things but we also take them back. And for a gambler to say that he's done, you know how intense the feeling is with that. Yet, we know what will happen next and we all keep coming back no matter what excuse we say.

I come back because I like glamping. When I was starting out, the casino would take almost all my money. Then I didn't want to go, but I always ended up going or trying out our strategies. After I learned that the casino has many ways to win, that's when I learned to play more carefully. There's no point in getting excited if the casino can take everything from me at any moment. So when I bet, I do it calmly.

You are right in your explanation mate, there are many factors that makes a Gambler come back after they have decided not to come again. And to be specific I think it's two things which is thinking about their past loses or one big win they once had. This are the two major factor. When they remember how they have lost too many times, it feels like the have lose so much and giving up like that will be so embarrassing. Or they can't stand the chance of losing and just quit just like that, it looks somewhat like a retaliation. And the second one is the past Glory makes you come back. When you remember the last big win you once had, and what you where able to achieve with it, it feels like you should do it one more time. This two are the major factor I know that make gamblers come back after saying they aren't coming back again.
