Why risk your life for a bet?

Taking a risk is a normal thing in gambling but taking risk in your life is what I will not advise other new gambler to embrace because it can make some gamblers to take their life when they lost huge amount of funds, am not saying you should not take risk towards gambling but not the one you know that it will take your life when you lost the funds because there are some gamblers that will steal funds from their parents or friends to gamble and if such gamblers experiences lost he or she can do anything either to kill himself or herself because he or she don't know how to explain such story to his friends or parents, nothing like you budget what you can afford to lose in gambling and it will make you not to fall victim to anything that will make you hate gambling.

People sometimes place more value on certain things than they actually deserve and events like this can happen. For most of us, a match is just a match, a bet is just a bet but they convince themselves it's something more. Truly, nothing is more valuable than our life. No matter what you lose, no matter what you grieve over, never forget this.

I don't know but if it is true then it means people who commit such acts are weak people. They have not been raised by strong moral standards that tell to such people that life can never be taken for stupid reasons like losing a bet or not supporting the lose of a game by their favorite team. Now I don't want to judge but usually people who commit such acts are as I said weak ones and maybe they have been going through life a lot lately that it came to their mind to go to the most extreme of cases where one takes his own life. That is very sad and we should do more for society and people who do these things, these should not be isolated incidents, their life should be studied by psychology and to avoid as many possible as these fatal mistakes in the future.

I’ve been depressed about the football myself, my team has lost huge games but there is more to life than 22 men kicking a ball around a field.

I saw the video as well and the gay hang himself and died. But I don't know if he gambled the game or not but from what I saw there he wore an Arsenal jersey and he was a fans and the anger of losing the champions league made him to killed himself. Probably he bet on the club to win with big amount and loss the bet. Yesterday, Arsenal fans booked a full hotel with the bar to celebrate the victory but they got disappointed. Outside the stadium, a bus was painted Arsenal as the champions of the Europe but was removed after the match.

The actions taken were very emotional. I don't know how someone can support their favorite team so intensely. But they should know that in a match there will be wins and losses, and also draws. The final match in the UEFA Champions League cup yesterday did have tension, many gamblers missed out on placing bets on Arsenal, many Arsenal fans thought the result of the match was 2-1, but the facts on the field were not so in the 64th minute PSG Ousmane scored a goal, the gamblers thought time was still long, but that was not the case the match ended in the 90th minute with the score 1-1.

I think, the situation OP described is not much different from what happens in my area, but where I don't commit suicide, but the legal process, that is, if we gamble with people's money and can no longer control ourselves, we can become frustrated to the point of committing suicide, this is an unprofessional gambler with a short mind.

Sometimes I find it difficult to understand how some people take the fan of a thing, I have a club that I'm faning, I love my club no matter what but what I can never do is to go to the length of doing some silly things, some people can be mean, in real sense the guys playing this football are making their money, we are fans because of the love we have for football and even though we have bets on any game, maybe the game cut our slip, should we because of that to be stupid, some people are just too emotional, this is foolishness of the highest order.

I do not know the reason why people should be gambling with their life over merely betting or over an argument.
At least even though they must do that it has gotten to that extent where they could just terminate their life over a match or between two teams who are there enjoying their benefits payment over the match they have played, while their fans are there killing themselves over the lose of one team against the other.

This doesn't start today and it is very funny how people would still be doing that at this age. While I was in school whenever Chelsea and Manchester united is playing there will always be a fight In the hostel because of argument and the funniest part is that the team and the players they are fighting about don't even know if they exist. Anyways, I agree with you... It does not matter how much money he have lost to sportbetting or how much of a fan we are for a specific football team, neither of those things are supposed to be of more worth than our own life.

There was also a video clip I saw last night about someone who was crying that he has lost his job because due to that match, he asked his boss sack him if arsenal doesn't win the match, and now that the result is known, it's obvious that he has automatically lost his job and that's how far some people take sports betting, they can do any crazy thing just to make their self feel good, but they don't reason the negative outcome of their decision if things didn't go as planned.

Some how, I am surprised and feel very bad coming across this news, but on the other hand, I feel like I am not surprised at all I came across this news because with the level of craziness in and around town here in my country yesterday, I had this feeling that some persons may likely end up losing their precious life because of the yesterday PSG vs Arsenal match, but deep down in my heart, I prayed that such should not happen, and from that yesterday till this moment or some minutes ago, I've been active on my favourite social media being X, and I've not come across any news of anybody losing their life and I was already happy..

Sports, especially football, are basically designed as a form of entertainment, winning and losing are normal things. As a fan, no one should cross certain boundaries because survival is far more important than emotional attachment to a club to the point of causing death because they cannot accept their team losing in the final. I have seen someone that fainted before because of a match. Investigation let us know that he bet on the match.

This man probably also might have bet on the Arsenal versus PSG match, thinking Arsenal would win. Many people do not think of the consequences of losing a bet, but only think about the reward of winning.

Who knows if he borrowed huge amount of money and use the money to bet on the match. I wish this not to be true also, but there have been similar occurrences in the past. People should be wise and gamble responsibly.

Now imagine how many of those PSG fans bet on PSG to win, and how would they have reacted if PSG had lost? Perhaps some of them would have committed suicide. It is clear that we need to be very careful with exaggerated emotions. Here in my country, I've seen many cases of suicide involving losing money on sports betting. I've also seen cases of fights involving losses on sports betting.

A big congratulations to PSG on their winning.. this was unexpected and I know those who voted for arsenal to win has really made a very wrong choice because I know that PSG is a club that you can never toyed with.
Although, I believe that they will even though almost everyone around me was saying that Arsenal will take the lead but as the game start we really see how smart they could be but at least PSG took the lead, this is to show that you should never be putting all effort on the public opinion.

True, it even looks normal to see these fans go rioting after an important match if their favorite team loses, since we almost see this kind of action every year, but the case with @OP is different since I never heard of any case where a fan killed himself just because his team loses the match.  I believe it is more likely on a bet that makes him lost his entire fortune.

Taking risks in gambling is natural. Even gambling involves risk. Otherwise, earning money is impossible. And it always depends on luck.

But I agree with you that we should never risk  large amounts. The most important thing is that we should risk such an amount that if we lose money it will not affect our daily life. But there are plenty of gamblers who do nothing. They borrow money and  gamble. And such gamblers are ruining our society and  themselves.
These gamblers get involved in various  types of misdeeds. Theft, robbery and drugs are very normal for them.
