Pre-World Cup Friendlies

Germany enjoyed a smooth match with their clean victory against Finland which was already expected. Deniz Undav scored twice in their 4 goals defeat while Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala scored the other two goals.

The match I find a little disappointing is Brazil playing a 1-1 with Panama as at the 35th minute of the game after Vinicius Jr opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of the game. I'm not impressed with what Brazil is playing because I expect them to be one of the trophy hopeful in the coming world cup. There is still ample time for them to showcase what they are bringing to the world cup. 

I honestly don't know why Germany opted to play against Finland in a friendly game that'll prepare them for the FIFA World Cup. Finland is a team they'll definitely beat any day without putting too much work. It would've made sense if Finland was a mid team from a different continent but since it's an European nation, I doubt there's much to learn from for the German team. As for Brazil vs Panama, it's always been like that. Brazil tends to struggle against fellow South American teams and playing against Panama I think was a good way to prepare for the World Cup and regardless of the result, Carlo Ancelotti will definitely what to tactically pick from the result.

Many people do not watch friendlies because they thing it's boring or teams do not try hard...

But these pre-World Cup games can be very interesting,  I'm sure all the players will give their all to be in their country's starting lineup 

I honestly don't know anything about Panama, but I'm interested in this match because Panama is playing in a group with England, Croatia and Ghana, and Brazil beat Croatia in a friendly match about a month or two ago.

Although Brazil is always the favorite in these types of matches, with a lot of substitutions and no imperative to win, anything is possible. I looked at some old stats and it seems that these two teams haven't played a friendly since 2019 when it ended 1:1, with two wins by Brazil before that.

And it seems Panama won't be a problem for your Croatia, Lucius
Ghana could surprise and be more difficult, but logically the spots should go to England and Croatia

And once again here we are commenting on a World Cup

I haven't seen any of the pre-World cup friendlies but I've been following some of the results like how USA won Senegal. I doubt I'll see all the games because even though some teams will do their best to win, it's all just for fun and readiness preparation. The real fun starts with the world cup. Going to follow the results of Brazil game and hope they smash Panama.

Hopefully the host countries can put up a fight at least in the world cup this year.

These friendly matches are somewhat interesting and full of surprises, one of such surprises is seeing USA beat Senegal, and Panama scoring against Brazil, maybe this is a sign of how the world cup may look like when it kicks off in about a week, there more of these friendlies lined up before the world cup officially takes off and I think we might see more of these surprising games from the rest of the teams that are yet to play theirs, and my advice to bettors is to avoid such matches as the odds do not look enticing enough to risk it.

Although Finland is not as strong as Germany , I did not think  they were so weak. I thought the match would end 2-1 . Germany would  win by a narrow margin. But Germany won the match 4-0. They were able to attack  a lot. Musiala and wirtz both  scored. Undav scored two goals.

Brazil started their world cup journey very well. Although it was a friendly match, there is  no doubt that the players' confidence has increased after winning this match. Brazil defeated Panama 6-2 . Vini scored one goal and one assist in this match.

It is like a test before the real exam, and everyone is watching. It is the chance for the players with less play time to prove that they can and should start in the world's biggest competition

I will watch the Brazil X Panama today and I hope Brazil can start well. No Neymar in the field but I want to see players like Endrick that can be the face of the team

That is why people often disregard them, but at times it is through these friendly games that FIFA rank countries and so some countries do not joke with their friendlies so to get a good ranking.

Just watched Norway vs Sweden game and what I can say - Norway looks like black horses of this tournament and they can go far. Today they played without Haaland who got some rest before travelling to USA, but it wasn't a problem, Norway got easy win.
Now tuned in Austria - Tunisia, tomorrow Croatia - Belgium looks like best game to watch.

Brazil treated their fans to a veritable goal-fest by defeating Panama 6-2 in a friendly match. I don’t think Panama played badly, but after all, they were up against Brazil. Brazil closed out the first half leading 2-1 thanks to a goal and an assist each from Casemiro and Vinicius Junior, and continued to score after making substitutions. Ancelotti fielded two completely different starting lineups against the opponent. The standout player of the second half, in my opinion, was Lucas Paqueta. He was another player who finished the match with both a goal and an assist.

Turkey managed to comfortably defeat North Macedonia. Our national team scored two goals in each half, defeating their opponents with a final score of 4-0. North Macedonia is, of course, a weak team, and I think our national team still put in a good performance in this friendly match ahead of the World Cup. It should also be noted that some of our players were not included in the match roster and were injured. Arda Güler was brought into the game very late, and I think he could have been brought in earlier.

These friendly matches are always interesting because they give coaches a chance to test different players and tactics before the World Cup starts. But honestly, my biggest concern is injuries. I just hope some key players don't end up picking up injuries during these friendlies and miss the tournament. Because we have seen it happen many times before where a player is in great form, gets injured in a warm-up game and then misses the World Cup completely. Hopefully all the teams can use these matches to prepare well while keeping their star players fit and healthy for the main competition.

It's good warm up for Germany. They played with composure, and it's pretty good to thrash Finland with 4-0. However, i hugely critized how they are using their good line up for this game. There are several weeks remaining, and they have also to fight against US in june 6.

If they still use their good line up while they have no good depth like spain. It's gonna be a time bomb when their good players such as Wirtz, Undav and Musiala will be injured. I hope they will realize this, and try to give minimum gametime for their key players in the next friendly.

Germany won 4-0 against Finland in friendlies. Undav scored the brace 34 and 57. Wirtz scored 1 goal in the 48th minute and Jamal Musiala also scored a goal in the 63rd minute . In the first half 73% possession secured by Germany 3 big chances were created and 11 total shots. In the second half Finland tried to get back possession but managed to get only 45% in the second half no big chance created but Germany with 55% possession created 4 big chances and 11 shots . Overall Germany with 65% possession, 3.57xG created 7 big chances and a total of 22 shots. Undav is named as player of the match for Germany.

Austria is facing Tunisia, and the first half ended in a scoreless draw. Konrad Laimer left his team down to 10 men, and we can now say that Tunisia is the side closer to winning the match. Austria had more possession in the first half, but Tunisia will likely step up the pressure in the second half. Tunisia has taken 9 shots so far, while Austria has managed only 2. There aren’t any familiar names on the Tunisia squad, to be honest, but as a team, they might put on a good performance.

Brazil have found a perfect striker in Igor Thiago. It is the best thing that has ever happened to Brazil in this world cup. I have include them in my favorite teams to win the World Cup. This Brazil team has good players. Look what they did to Panama in the last match. Dealt with Panama mercilessly. An assist from Thiago and a goal from him. He is a good striker, if this team continues like this, they have a strong chance of wining the World Cup.

Croatia will play a friendly match against Belgium today. The two teams haven’t faced each other in a long time; their last match was at the 2022 World Cup, which ended in a scoreless draw. Croatia is, of course, the slight favorite in this match, but we can also say that Belgium is just as much of a favorite as Croatia. It’s a match where it’s hard to predict the winner, and the outcome could go either way. I’m hoping for a high-scoring game.

Agree with @asriloni, the 6 goals was expected, but conceding 2 goals to some team with zero names I recognize if this is the way they play in the finals it is going to be a long walk home early. Imagine, playing Casemiro and replacing him with Fabinho. Great names but come on this is not the best versions.

This is a good win for Brazil to give them a good confidence and with this win they can see where they are at. In attack they were really amazing and this shows the Brazil we all know from before. Panama scored two goals only because Brazil was playing really attacking and its normal to concede even against weaker teams.

I wonder now if they can continue like this and do the same at the World Cup. I see them passing the group easily but i doubt they can go really far but still its Brazil so anything is possible.

Ya but scoring 6 goals against a weak team AND conceding 2 is not a great result IMO just a decent one,,, better teams will not be so easy to penetrate and will be even faster and better at countering. I am mainly worried about their very old and slow midfield that is all.

Still,,, like you said Brazil is Brazil and anything can happen with Ancelotti pulling all the strategies.

Georgia will face Romania. Unfortunately, neither team will be competing in the World Cup. It’s especially disappointing that Georgia’s players won’t be there, given that they have players like Kvara Mamardashvili. Anyway, I think Georgia is the favorite in this match. Georgia will defeat its opponent in this match. The last friendly match between the two teams was played exactly five years ago, and Georgia won that match 2-1.

This is a perfect time for a manager to know the right thing to do and also to test the players, which he will have to rotate and protect them, so that they won't be get injured but that's just a 50/50, because there is no how a player can't get injured when training and if this happens, then all there efforts has been wasted. That's why its important that players should be mindful and train carefully, so that they won't end up not paying the tournament.

This is me literally. Friendlies may seem interesting to many people but not to me because the countries that may be playing don't have the players I need to watch. Also, the players are playing for fun, not for a tournament that there will be winners or losers in the tournament. Friendliness are a test of strength and which team will play better in the world cup. Coaches also use friendlies to test a tactics or formation.

Its so boring to watch, no doubt about that, but its important for them to train because without them training, they won't give the fan's what they are expecting of them. That is why its crucial for them to play and to also get to test their ability and know how to scale through during the competition and you know, practice makes perfect, even though humans can still make mistakes, its still important for them to keep practice and make the next competition an excellent one.
