The spending limits for Super League teams have been set. https://www.tff.org/default.aspx?pageID=687&ftxtID=50891At the top of the standings are, in order, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, and Trabzonspor; the approximate budgets of these teams in euros are as follows: Galatasaray: 168m€ Fenerbahçe: 118m€ Beşiktaş: 77m€ Trabzonspor: 47m€ I hope the teams don’t sign players who will almost exhaust their limited budgets in just one or two seasons. Although the Super League is a league that’s growing in terms of budget, attracting world-class “star” players to this league is still financially risky. There's a huge financial difference between Galatasaray and other teams like Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor. Knowing that nowadays teams with a lot of money can afford good players, it becomes very difficult for teams with less money to fight for the title. I think that if other teams want to fight for the title now (because in the past this wasn't a big problem, like 15 years ago teams could have little money and still fight for the title) they should strive to earn a lot of money to hire better players. I have no doubt that we will see Galatasaray become champions again.

Vedat Muriç has returned to Turkey and to Fenerbahçe. We had previously seen him play for Gençlerbirliği, Rizespor, and Fenerbahçe. He had been playing in Italy and Spain for about five seasons and was re-signed by Fenerbahçe following the appointment of Aziz Yıldırım as the club’s new president. Last season in La Liga, he scored a total of 23 goals while playing for Mallorca. He’s truly a great center forward. The race to find a star center forward in the Super League has turned into a competition among all the teams. Let’s see how he performs.

He had a fantastic season at Mallorca. He's exactly the kind of striker Fenerbahçe is looking for. I'd love to see a striker like that join Beşiktaş too. When Fenerbahçe sold him to Lazio 6 years ago, they made 15 million Euro profit. Now 6 years later, they've brought him back for the same amount. I wonder what would have happened if Muriqi had stayed at Fenerbahçe during those 6 seasons? I think they would have won at least 1 championship. That's just how strange life is.

Fenerbahçe signed the same player, but an older version of him... Its purchasing power six years ago is most likely not the same; 15 million euros six years ago might have had greater purchasing power based on today’s conditions, but no matter how we look at it, this doesn’t seem like a very smart transfer move to me. If they were going to bring him back, why did they sell him in the first place?

Now that they’ve reacquired him for around 15 million euros, it seems like the same price, but in terms of the money spent in the league, there’s a world of difference between the two figures. In the 2020–21 season, Vedat Muriç was by far the most expensive transfer at 20 million. His closest competitor was Irfan Can Kahveci, who moved from Başakşehir to Fenerbahçe for 7 million euros. Right now, 15 million euros would only get you an average player in the Super League.

Apparently, that's what the money is meant for, what they should be worried about it is not to use the funds to get players that wouldn't give value for the money, the league might probably get more intense next season because the other teams may be getting ready to fight for the title but they have to invest in the transfer market to be able achieve that, Galatasaray already has a good team that seems better than the rest of the teams in the league which puts them ahead and with such funds in their hands it means they would get better.

Vedat Muriqi did great things at Mallorca, and I'm sure he'll do even better at Fenerbahçe. We needed a striker like that, it's a good transfer, I have no doubt about that.

There are reports in the sports media that Fenerbahçe wants to sign Mason Greenwood. It’s also being reported that Marseille is wanting €50 million for Mason Greenwood. Some reports are published to manipulate the media, and this one struck me as just that. While the media is focusing on this story, Fenerbahçe officials may be working on another transfer...

Fenerbahçe's new signing Vedat Muriqi has picked up an injury and is reportedly expected to be out for at least three weeks. This is a major setback for Fenerbahçe because they have a UEFA Champions League qualifying match on July 21, and Muriqi will most likely miss that game. Fenerbahçe are still working on bringing in new signings, but this summer they won't be able to make many more transfers unless they first sell some players.

Not only him actually. I have heard of some more players of ours getting injured one by one recently. Talisca is another name I have just read about for example. This is scary to hear. There is less than a month left for us to play our first qualification match in the Champions League. We need our strikers healthy. We can't rely on Cherif anymore. Is there any update on our Guirassy attempts?

Muriqi got injured as soon as he arrived, what a bad luck. He'll miss out most of the pre-season camp. Still, I don't think he'll have trouble fitting in with the team, he'll be ready by the time the league starts.
Beşiktaş's new season kits have been unveiled. They've been with Adidas for years, but now they've switched to Nike. The white kit is simple and nice. The black kit is also quite chique. However the striped kit has been the subject of a lot of debate. I didn't really like it. It looks like Barcelona's 2011 jersey. I didn't like that one either. I was expecting better designs in Nike's first year. They really fell short on this one.

Vedat Muriqi will be out for a short time, so we need to finish one or two transfers quickly. Hopefully, the club is trying to lower Dortmund's €40 million asking price Dortmund will come down to the desired price.

Even though so many seasons have passed, Nike is really struggling to come up with anything new when it comes to jerseys. I wonder why they’re bringing back something that wasn’t even popular 15 years ago. Barcelona’s jersey doesn’t look that bad because it now has a nostalgic feel to it, but it looks a bit odd on Beşiktaş. Still, I think the plain white one is quite nice. If Beşiktaş has a successful season, it could become a classic jersey. It’s really unfortunate that Muriç got injured right after arriving. Luckily, there’s still time before the league starts, so he can recover. Players are gradually returning from the World Cup anyway. The whole league will probably get off to a slow start.

Fenerbahçe were eliminated from the Europa League last year due to a lack of strikers. If they had a good striker against Nottingham Forest, they would have advanced. Similarly, they suffered some very strange point losses in the Süper Lig. Therefore, a good transfer needs to be made quickly. If they want to convince Dortmund, they need to keep the fee reasonable.

The thing I have heard about Dortmund on Guirassy is that they don't want to accept anything below his current market value. It is €32m right now. If Vedat Muriqi won't be ready for our first qualification matches in the Champions League then we had better speed up the process on another striker transfer. Guirassy is 30 years old so maybe his price could be debatable as a result.

The foreign player rule in the Super League hasn't changed. It shouldn't change every year anyway. The current rule is perfectly fine. Teams can register 10+4 foreign players. That amounts to half the team. Teams can build a balanced roster consisting of 14 Turkish and 14 foreign players. 4 of these foreign players must be young players under the age of 23. I think teams shouldn't object to this rule. Those who wish to can play with an all Turkish squad, it's a matter of choice. Those looking to discover young foreign talent can take that route as well. This is what's best for Turkish football. There's also plenty of room here for talented Turkish players.

In my opinion, including young foreign players in the squad is a well-thought-out detail in the foreign player rule. The requirement that four players must be under 23 years old could lead to the discovery of young star prospects. Perhaps these players could then be sold to European clubs for higher fees. This would open the door to significant revenue for the development of local clubs. I believe a team that utilizes this rule effectively would gain a great advantage.

Beşiktaş have parted ways with Salih Uçan. He was a solid player for the Turkish rotation but wasn't a top class talent. Beşiktaş need better Turkish players. Jota Silva and Asllani, who played on loan last season, have also returned to their teams. This has freed up spots in the foreign player quota. Beşiktaş need to sign better foreign players as well. The roster for the Slovakia training camp has been announced. There are only 12 reliable players on the team. I can't count more than that. At least 6 net transfers are a must. There is no depth on the roster right now. The quality of both foreign and Turkish players must be improved. I hope the new transfers come as soon as possible and that they make it in time for the pre-season camp. Waiting for the World Cup to end would be a huge mistake. If any opportunistic signings are to be made, they should be limited to 2 or 3. The main signings, that is 4 or 5 new players, must be secured as soon as possible.

It is reported that Galatasaray is very close to finalizing the transfer of Jhon Duran. If this transfer goes through, it will be an interesting story for Duran following his time at Fenerbahçe. He should be aware that if he joins the team, he’ll likely spend most of his time on the bench, since Osimhen is also on the roster. Galatasaray needs him, too, because in Osimhen’s absence, the team needs a true striker. Icardi’s contract has also expired. If he comes in as an alternative to Osimhen, I think it will be a good signing.

And the first transfer news has come in. An agreement has been reached with Kassoum Ouattara. We haven't seen a good left back since Masuaku. This time Beşiktaş finished the left-back transfer quickly. 8+2 million Euro will be paid to Monaco for Ouattara. It's very hard to find a good left back for less anyway. I hope he will play effectively and become an important part of the team for a long time. Since he's so young, there's a high chance we'll be able to sell him later at a significant profit. On the same day, we learned that Serkan Emrecan Terzi had been sent to Iğdır FK. Mediocre players like that used to play for Beşiktaş. I hope we won't see players like that anymore. The era of giving chances to mediocre players just because they came up through the youth system is over. Only those who deserve it should play.
