It is with tears, sadness and sorrow that this young man by name, chibuzor from Anambra state in Nigeria was laid to rest either yesterday or today (not sure).
It is reported he died while collapsed, and died while watching the Arsenal verses PSG UEFA champions league match that was played on Saturday where Arsenal lost to PSG with penalty.

The deceased was a die hard Arsenal fan, those who witnessed the event said he collapsed during the penalty stage of match after PSG defeated Arsenal..
Cause of death was not ascertained, but my own personal assumption is that he must have had a heart attack due to blood pressure rising from the intense pressure, and what this means is that the deceased had an underlying illness, possibly BP which he may not be aware of..

This is how I almost had a heart attack due to one of the AFCON seasons when my country Nigeria went into penalty shootout against South Africa, I was watching that match alone in my room and at a point, it felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest, at a point again, I noticed I was beginning to struggle to breath properly, I quickly grabbed my TV remote, turn off the television and rush outside, I started breathing heavily and sweating profusely, since this incident, I started being careful of the match I watch, if its a match that will get me too tensed, I will avoid watching it and simply follow up the scores online..

For sure, there are underlying reasons why such unfortunate event. Maybe he had heart attack while watching or he has other exisiting diseases already. On that day, the excitement, thrill and other emotions got mixed up, and his body didn't respond well to those emotions. So make sure if you have such heart related disease, at least be cautious of what you are subjecting yourself into.

If you already know you have some disease, then, try to be aware of your activities as well as your surroundings. Because no one will take care of you but yourself. Just watch when the game is over to prevent the overwhelming emotions brought by live watching of the game.

The whole thing boils down to the issue of taking something so personal, there are people I mean fans who are always very serious and personal whenever they are talking about football teams and some can easily fight if someone say something against their team they fan and it is very wrong. Perhaps the deceased person must have sworn with his life or used his life savings to play Arsenal to win PSG because he trusted his club but that will be really insane because the game was indecisive, you can not really tell who was going to win.

I still wonder why alot of people put too much pressure on these sport events. It's kind of a pity to see you who is a fan get more pained compare to the player himself who actually lost. Does it make any sense? Our health should be a major reason for us to avoid any practice that puts us at risk. One good reason I could think of why people experience this is that they must have gambled more than they can afford to lose. We have said it times without numbers that gambling should be meant for fun. Don't put too much into one game in the hope for some magic win to happen. These events are based on probability as no one, not even the players no matter how good they are can predict the outcome of their games..

Certainly, this guy was having some health issues, but that aside, since we were not there and you don't have physical verification of what really happened to Chibuzor or the exact cause of his death, we cannot be certain. Although he died while watching Arsenal lose the championship final to PSG, heart complications could be the cause, but an autopsy will ascertain and accurately determine the cause of his death.
Most possibly, he may have bet a huge amount of money on Arsenal to win. I don't add any personal feelings to whatever I do, man. No matter how excited I may be about those things, it is important to avoid addiction.

You are right though, only that a similar thread has been created already, but the truth is that we as human need to check up on ourselves regularly to see if we are fit at any given time. Most surden death is caused by lack of self consciousness or accumulated sickness that has not been treated for long. And most times this is as a result negligence or carelessness. Sometimes  people form the habit of self appraisal, claiming they don't go to hospital from time to time without knowing that there could be damages in the body system, when a small thing triggers the problem, it lead to instant death. Now people put the blame on the particular thing the person was doing before he/she passed away. Just like this guy's case, it can not be far from this explanation. Let's just be careful how we treat ourselves.

My bets on sports games are always relatively small, I always make sure it's an amount I can easily get over with if it turns out to be a loss, so with this, If I bet on a football team that I am not a fan of, I can comfortably watch the match and not get to tensed up, most especially if I am watching the match with friends, the gists, laughter and all could lighten up that mood and In some occasions, I might not even feel any tension at all even if the team I place my bet on is losing.

But when it comes to match that is being played by my national team or my favourite club like Arsenal for example, I don't watch every match, especially match being played at critical moments where my team or favourite club has to win by all means or something goes wrong, I avoid watching those type of matches cus those are the type of match that gets me so tense to the point of heart attack especially if I am alone, but if I am with friends, I could manage to watch but anytime I feel I am becoming uncomfortable, I will just stand up and go outside, I will remain outside until the match is over, then my friends will gist me what went down in my absence.

You don't need to take this matches too personal when watching them because it will definitely have affect your emotions and if care isn't taken, you can get affected negatively with the outcome of the game especially, if your team lost the game.

I have learned not to take football matches too serious but watch for fun and accept whatever outcome is the result to enable me feel free and happy after entertaining myself with the game. When it gets to a football finals, if you know it's always deficult for you to deal with an unfavourable outcome, it's better you don't watch the game at all so you don't endanger your health in the process. I still remember watching my country play in the African cup of nations finals and how are some point I couldn't bear the tension anymore. I had to just excuse myself and step out till the end of the game.

For your own safety and for your life's sake, You just have to know yourself and be truthful to yourself in cases like this. You decieve yourself and die in the process, life will still go on like you don't matter.

I find it a little irritating that some people lose themselves in the process of devotion, and get too attached to sports that they can do anything to keep them from accepting the reality of a loss for their team or a win. Why should we take these things too seriously? Unless he collapsed from other reasons, this should be a lesson to other devoted sports fan.

We often hear news of people's death whenever there's a final match like these, people have learned to attach a lot of emotions to these sports and neglecting the impact it has on them. I like the fact that you were cautious about yourself when you noticed the game situation was getting the better hold of you and stopped the reaction before it was too late. I do that as well when the tension is high, although I'm not ruling out the possibility that the guy in question may have been battling with health issues like high BP, susceptibility to panic and other possible health challenges that catalyzed the effect of the match on him and lead to his death.

We also need to take care of ourselves, go for regular checkups and see the doctor if we feel any discomfort, so that health challenges doesn't keep piling up and end up critically affecting our well being at the slightest exposure to pressure.

That being said, I have heard about a lot of scenarios that people fought each other as a result of being a die hard Arsenal fan or opposition to Arsenal, some engage on serious arguments, which I think we don't have to do all this because even those things does not recognize our presence or what we do on their behalf, why should we take it more personal on ourselves even than those that are in control of the teams that are playing and the players themselves, this is just about applying wisdom to anything we do when it comes to supporters fan, we must use our head.

The culprit is being fanatical, that you are deep into it, that your body cannot keep up. I have seen with my own eyes in a horse racing betting station, where a guy is all eyes, holding her breath on a long lap, and suffers from a heart attack because of too much excitement, because he only needed one win to win a winner-take-all event, he did win the event, but almost lost his life.
You have to be aware of your health; your favorite game, which once excited you, may no longer suit you. Remember, as we grow old, we develop ailments.

Well, you have a very good point but to the best of my knowledge, the deceased was not said to have placed any bet on that match, so aside he was known as a die hard fan of Arsenal, he didn't place any bet on the match, I did my research on the incident before posting here and there is no where it is said he had any bet placed on the game..
And if no bet was placed, then the best possible reason for his death is nothing else other than heart attack, like I explained in the main post, this is an experience I've almost had myself, my only luck was that I paid attention to my system and ran out early enough.
But again, you are right, autopsy would have best explain the reason for the victims death but unfortunately, I don't think they family did that..

I actually Checked out the other thread before creating this one, I even commented on that other thread myself, I can assure you that one and this one are talking about the same incident, the event of the other thread is not even something that happened in Nigeria, so this thread is actually different from that other different.

We know who we are, and what kind of chronic illness we have, then we are the one who is completely responsible for how our lifestyle will be. If we can't take any news that can be like a sudden surprise or bad news because of being heart conditions, then just don't do something stupid that you do to yourself.

Unfortunately there are people who go like crazy for something because they are die hard fan off, the term itself doesn't look good when we take it in the literal meaning.
