Do You Really Know Your Gambling Wins and Losses?

I don't know my future in gambling but I consider gambling for fun. I don't think I can make money easily through gambling so I don't think much about that.

I don't track wins and losses because that is not useful for me because I feel the allocation is more important to me as it will prevent me from more losses.

I am trying to discipline myself in control, that is the thing I need to do in gambling and prevents me from becoming an irresponsible gambler.

Nobody knows for sure. Everyone who gambles says they gamble for fun. I've never heard anyone say they've made money gambling. Many people, when telling their gambling stories, always talk about winning but never about losing. Even those who do the math still won't stop gambling. Because gambling offers excitement and the dream of getting rich quick.

We all lose in gambling sometimes when we bet but we always tell people about our wining, because saying about your loses to others will make them feel like you’re not a good gambler. And others that I know are into gambling well. they are does that always says they are betting for fun and that is not the real truth, they don’t want others to think they can’t gamble very well. But when ever they mention fun you will surly think they didn’t take it serious that is the reason they lose.

Everyone knows is gambling win and lose when you check your history, you will surly find it and sometimes when I bet and I see am winning a lot, I will check my history and compare it with my loses and calculate it and think if have recover my loses. But some delete every thing in the history to restart afresh, In gambling we just need to know is unpredictable and you can’t gamble without losing. You can’t be wining frequently always.

I don't keep accounting records of losses. Gambling is not a business or an income for a gambler. So it hardly makes sense to take this so seriously. In addition, it is not clear what benefits accounting for losses can bring. Although this is just my point of view, perhaps accounting for losses and profits helps some gamblers psychologically.

You probably gamble more online. So it has become a  little easier for you to control yourself. Now it  is very easy to gamble on mobile. Earlier, gamblers had to go to casinos. We had no other option but to gamble physically. But online gambling has made the way of gambling easier.

We all have mobile phones. And online gambling  does not require a very expensive mobile phone. Also, every country has different local or international gambling  apps or websites. We see a lot of gambling ads on  different social media. It is very easy now. At the same time, there is an opportunity to try many new games here. We can do this anywhere. I have a ballpark PnL every year but I usually just forget about it on the start of each year since I don’t want to consider it on my new year gambling progress/achievement.

It’s good to have this kind of record to control or determine if you are spending too much but this is not always a good move if you want convenience on gambling entertainment.

Usually, I just allocate an amount that I can afford to lose on gambling and that’s all my baseline for my expenses total amount.

For me, one character of a gambler who might survive long term is someone who actually tracks his wins and losses. Not just remembering the big wins, but also counting the losses, checking the net profit or loss, and trying to see if there is really improvement.

Because without records, it is easy to fool ourselves. We remember the lucky days, but forget the losing streaks.

So my question is, do you have that kind of discipline? Do you really know how much you already lost and won in gambling?

I think there are very few players who keep a complete record of all their bets and then analyze the results to draw conclusions. More often, players track how much they deposit and how much they withdraw, which allows them to see their overall balance and whether they are in profit or at a loss. In my opinion, that's already a good practice if a player does it. And most players don't keep any records at all, they make another deposit when their balance runs out. Later, they say that they play just for fun and that tracking their results isn't important to them.

FYI, if you play exclusively on sites that provide your complete deposit and withdrawal history, yes, you can count it.
Export the data and pass it to AI, and with a simple prompt, you'll get your monthly or yearly P&L, as well as your total all-time P&L.
From my betting behavior, I can confidently say that gambling didn't affect my net worth significantly, contrary to what people believe... But if you count it and see a big profit or loss, you might cut back on gambling since it's not healthy anymore.

Future like net profits or making a living through gambling? if I'm correct with these two, then it is a waste of belief, such can end up making you expectant of success through gambling and I'm not cut out for that. I prefer channeling a bigger chunk of my energy into career dependent outcomes and nurse the beliefs to having  future in them than gambling. Gambling is a mere recreational activity to me and I don't have much expectation from it.

Funny enough, I remember neither of them for long, I did not include them in my priority data to be tracked, I only seem to remember big wins which I used in achieving something tangible like when I got a new phone with my gambling wins, I only ensure that that I am not gambling irresponsible by sticking to my budget. I only do actually audit myself at the end of the year to ascertain if there is a need for increasing or decreasing my monthly budget for gambling.

Good for you, and same here. I know I have my limits for sure, and I know I make sure I pay all my bills and everything else, before I start depositing.

But that was at the start, now I know for sure I am no longer depositing, just spending what I earn from signature campaigns

Personally, I don't track what I spend on entertainment, or food etc. Just pay my bills, rent, everything, pay my loans (biggest part of my life for a long time). Save as much as possible, don't spend unnecessarily.

Most players simply absolve themselves of responsibility because they don't want to know their losses in full. They understand that knowing the exact number wouldn't be very pleasant, but at the same time, they don't want to entertain the thought of quitting at some point. I'm not a perfect player myself and don't keep track of my wins and losses. I just know that I've lost more so far, but that doesn't mean I'm not working on myself. I play very rarely now and work more on my emotions and risk management, which I also consider important.

Gambling isn't a business that you should take record of your profit and loss because it wouldn't change the outcome of your future bets. It wouldn't still make you limit your losses by stopping the game at the right time if you're after making profits.

I have a gambling budget for the week and any money I set aside for gambling, I accept the fact that I have already lost it because it's certain that it belongs to the casino either immediately or later. So, what I do is to calculate my gambling budget for whatever duration of time as my loss. I haven't made profit in gambling because you will run at loss in the long run only if you're an occasional gambler.

Yes, that is the key, to discipline our selves so that we won't go overboard and then think of how big our small our losses are. At the end of the day, we should all be responsible, take care of everything first before our gambling habits.

So I don't really know what is my historical logs for as long as I gamble. Some of us might have started way back so it's really hard to trace everything. Some casinos might have our history, but as we all checking it? I doubt that is the case for the majority of us.

As a gambler before you will eventually take the decision of gambling, you should have understood the ethics of gambling which comprises  winning and losing, so a good gambler knows if he is experiencing much winning than losing without keeping a personal record because as a good gambler that always run his gambling journey with budgets attached to it, will actually know if he is losing much than winning, so for me I'm not the type of gambler that forgets both when I'm losing much than winning or winning much than losing, because i only stake within my budget for the weeks.

What kind of future are you aiming for here? Because from the very beginning gambling is just a game for the mentality and there is no future whatsoever to be gained from gambling.
 
We are just playing and regardless of profit or loss (although most likely loss) no one will know for sure so why force yourself by trying to find a good future in gambling.

Gambling is actually almost certain where losses will definitely be obtained even though there are several dynamics such as getting a win first or trying to continue to win but in the end it will still lose so in this case it is not too suitable if you really want to look for the future especially in the context of profit.
I know I will definitely lose in the end but when I still persist in gambling it is because I just want to gamble and don't mind the loss because from the beginning I knew the risk of gambling was losing money.

Personally, I don't want to think about my losses at all, because I know for sure that I've lost a lot over the years I've been gambling. Of course, I try to reduce my bets a little each month, but I still do it slowly, and I just don't want to know how much I've lost. If I found out, I'd feel ashamed of myself and start wondering what I could have spent that money on if I hadn't gambled at all. It would affect me internally; I'd start sleeping poorly, I might lose my appetite, and I'd start having health and mood problems. I can't really forget my loses ,I always make budget , very week I have a specific amount I gamble with,so whenever I fund my wallet I try as much as possible to manage the money , with that I was able to document the amount I gamble with probably for a month ,then I also check how many times I also win in a week or monthly,that has helped me not to go over board , because once I notice my loses are much and I haven't won for a while I just chill for sometime .

It is not discipline. The discipline in gambling is about having a small amount of gambling budget and not going beyond it if you lose it.

This is similar to accounting in any business. If this isn't done, the business (gambling) will simply become unprofitable. In other words, you're suggesting approaching gambling not as entertainment, where there's no systematic analysis of past events, but as a purposeful activity aimed at winning (earning money, as in business).

It also allows to organize and systematize your activities, control your losses, and prevent from exceeding your limits. In short, there are many advantages.

If you care read and want to know it there is nothing stopping you from doing so, the only way I can imagine someone not knowing this is playing with cash on local slot machines, yeah that would be harder to track, but online gambling, it's all there forever!
