Asking yourself that tough question before placing a bet is great mental preparation and a great leaflet to stay on actual path. But the story is, it is not enough for us to go with a vague and rough idea that we are in profit or loss on the whole. When the hard reckoning is not in sight especially when there is a dangerous session of extended losses or losing streaks started then it can fool us and lead in wrong direction.

Personally since I started keeping a record of each of my session, even roughly, I have been able to bring the dirty habit of making nonsense spending and blowing money very firmly.

That is your perspective and you are doing good but my point was it doesn't matter whether I am in profits or not because I don't treat it as one, I just consider it as an expense so any rewards coming out will be treated as a byproduct not the actual thing. Keeping the track of bets or atleast the sessions might be useful for regular gamblers but I don't do that very often so the one that I am following is working fine for me.

To answer the first question, any gambler that's smart would not plan a future with gambling because that's the same thing as not having a plan. Knowing your wins and losses doesn't change anything, what's important to focus on is to gamble responsibly. If you always stake an amount of money that you can afford to lose you would not bother to keep track of your losses. For me I don't take all of these seriously because I gamble for fun and I don't take it seriously. Like I said, gambling responsibly is what can reduce the losses you incur.

To me tracing my losses I see it as not being important to me at all since I win and lost I see tracing back my lost is a big waste of time , because all I need is counting my wins and not the losing tickets, if we should keep tace of the lost tickets one will definitely get confused so you should only concentrate on your winnings, though you should also be calculative to know why the other games cut your slip when next you are about to stake , that alone will give you an edge to predict properly in your next prediction.

Honestly tracing the lose is just a big wasting of time tracing doesn’t mean anything since is not that it’s going to bring the lose back so the best thing is to focused on the next bet what will be their outcomes, because tracing the previous bet that they lose will make them be so sadly about their lost; most especially when it happen that they is only one game that make he/she to lose the bet it’s very painful; and that’s a person that is very emotional can not jump into gambling without be well aware of the consequences.

Yes, gamblers cannot get back what they loose if they track their lose, but tracking your lose make person to be aware of their gambling habits to know if person is spending more than what they are supposed to spend. Tracking make person to be accountable of their gambling habits. And person don't have to have study accountancy before they start to get accountable for their money.

And person cannot manage their loss if there is no way they can track and measure it . If you continue to care less about tracking what goes into gambling m, you will not have a single clue about the amount that you have lost to gambling. And when you don't know how much you have lost to gambling, you cannot know whether gambling is a financial burden to you or it is not .

Not really, but overall I'm still down on my gambling results especially in casino games where I've lost much more compared to sports betting. In my opinion, if I keep thinking about those losing streaks experience I'll just keep frustrated from what happened. I'm also afraid it'll be hard to move on because part of me still wants to recover what I've lost so I think it's better to move on and forget about it. On the other hand, when I get a lucky win it makes my day much better keeping my mind clearer and helps me avoid making rush decisions. I don't know whether tracking wins and losses actually helps people improve at gambling.

After that, I didn't want to gamble anymore, because it sounded like a waste of money for me, since there are priorities in my life I have to focus. I'm not optimistic about the future of gambling in my life right now because I never see any future in gambling.

Yes, in gambling, most people will temporarily remember how much they have won, forgetting about the losses. This is where people make the biggest mistake because if people had calculated their wins and losses correctly, they would never have gotten involved in gambling.

Yes, some discipline plays a positive role in gambling, but few gamblers can participate in gambling with discipline. Most of the gamblers I have seen go bankrupt were excessively disorderly. They never followed discipline in gambling.

Without taking note of my gambling earnings and losses, I know if im profitable or in loss. Aside from that, gambling is all about profit and losses. It is a normal thing to lose, but what differentiates someone who has a future in gambling is how he controls the outcome of the game. I'm actually off the grid. I don't put my wins and losses on record, but I remember my wins vividly and somehow slowly forget my losses. And for me that's one way of keeping my privacy as a gambler, but I'm keeping them in mind.

As long as I'm not losing too much from betting and at some point, still making sufficient wins, for me that's good enough. I don't intend to be a professional gambler in the future, so this would be okay for me. It works as long as I get to balance gambling as an entertainment and gambling as additional source of income.

I agree with you that it is a financial burden. I don't have control over my losses at the casino, nor do I want to see or acknowledge them because it lowers my mood, and I don't like that. I like feeling good, I don't like feeling bad. That's why when I go to gamble, the money I put in is the money I'm willing to lose, the money I'm prepared to lose. I don't want to later calculate what I spent or what I didn't spend, none of that.

Nope, I don't have that kind of discipline. But I do have the discipline not to gamble with money I earn from my real job.

I totally agree with this activity that it can restore someone's mentality with their personal problems, that losing gambling with such a large amount is not something to be taken lightly, in fact it can damage someone's mentality, I agree with my brother @lombok what is achieved can be a motivation in the future and at least can stop slowly if it is done well.

That's discipline and I'm glad, you really got to understand the game more better, unlike some gamblers that don't know when to draw the curtains and when to continue playing, as they are still struggling with this part. Stopping when you hit your limits, keeps and maintain the fun intact, and also, this keeps you in charge of your emotions because you know its more safer and fun, if one can truly control their emotions for their own wellbeing.

I probably would never have gotten to this point if it weren't for one major circumstance that forced me to strictly adhere to discipline. It turned out that I lost a large sum of money at the casino and had to pay a considerable amount every month for several years to pay off the bank loan I'd taken out. For all those years, I forgot about gambling. I didn't even touch it and avoided it. Only a couple of years ago did I start playing again, but with caution and following a number of rules that I can't break, lest I find myself in a similar situation again.

Having a record on everything would be that just fine but it would really be that totally depending on how you would be using it whether you would be checking if you are spending up that much, making up some testings on your systems etc.. What matter most on here is that you are aware on what you are doing and of course on the limitation that you should have when doing gambling because once you wouldnt really be having the track then there's a possibility that you would really be excessing into your limits just because you arent aware, but somehow even having no tally or records on which if you are that having the mind of controlling things and been wary even on just assumption of numbers on which it could still be possible. It all matters about self control and moderation in the end of the day whether you do have that records or not, because whats important is that you do have the limit and wont go excess into it.

Losses are painful, so it’s better to forget them and move on. As we all know, gambling isn’t a serious profession. There is no certainty of winning, so there’s no point in keeping track of overall profits or losses. I gamble simply to try my luck; if possible, I might make a few extra bucks by being fortunate. If I lose, I console myself by saying that whatever happens, happens for the best, and then I move on. I don’t know about others, but this is what gambling means to me.

Yes I know it will be helpful to people that are all out for the profit and mainly gamblers that see gamble as a source of income, but if you are mainly doing it for the fun then you will find it unnecessary or stressful to start keeping records of your gambling history.
