Even though the idea about never sell our Bitcoin is what is the order of the day, especially in this forum but critically looking at Bitcoin as an asset, we can't totally remove selling. Because one thing that keeps an asset alive and sort after is the rate at which individual and institutions buy and sell such assets.Liquidity of an asset is one fundamental characteristics that most investors look at, and if no body sells then such an asset will not appreciate in price.
If you remove selling from BTC investment it will be hard for institution and individuals to like BTC investment, because they are hodling to earn massive profits that will boost their profit. When you are hodling and you begin to see profit keep Coming into you, you can keep maintaining the strategy that will make you to grow faster than other investors in the industry. I will not advise any newbies to come with the mind of never sell BTC when there are opportunity to sell to earn good profit, because they will like to hodl BTC to make their dream come to reality, which is the dream of every investors in this industry

It was never a misleading statement to me also because that is a statement to motivate the beginners and people who are very quick to sell their bitcoin, the statement is also for those who don’t know how to hold a bitcoin for a long time and the reason why it is good to hold a bitcoin for a long time is because everyone want to enjoy his investment in the end, the price can rise and some individuals might already sell their bitcoin and they will miss the best opportunity of their life and regret or seeing bitcoin as a bad investment, if their is no statement to motivate people when they are investing in bitcoin i don’t think many people will see it as long term investment, people will see it as the trading.
His statement was misleading because he said he would never sell his bitcoin. He was not saying he was motivating beginners and people who sell their bitcoin quick, he said he would never sell bitcoin. You will sell if the price is good, people will sell if the price is good but he said he would never sell. If he used the wrong words to say his feelings he must correct himself.

Investing is about making a profit, and everyone's goal is to make money, not to spend their money just to become part of some cult or hold an asset they will never use. Trust me, even if we tell newbie never to sell their Bitcoin, they are not going to follow that advice. They are not that naive. And even those who always advise others never to sell Bitcoin may not necessarily follow that advice. Saylor is an example.

“Never sell your Bitcoin”? Then why are you buying and holding it? To make a showpiece out of it? A better statement would be: “Never sell your Bitcoin at the wrong time.”
To elaborate, it’s perfectly fine to sell your Bitcoin whenever you genuinely need money. The long-term objective is simply to hold it for as long as possible. Over time, its price is expected to rise due to increasing demand and the fixed supply of Bitcoin. For example, if you don’t need to sell your Bitcoin for the next 10 years and then suddenly require money, that’s the right time to sell it. By then, there’s a good chance Bitcoin’s price will have increased significantly, allowing you to earn substantial returns on your investment.
That’s what is really meant by the sentence, “Never sell your Bitcoin.”
He must sell bitcoin one day, he should not sell at the wrong time. I asked why he holds bitcoin but he did not explain. Why is he buying if he is never selling? He must have made the wrong statement because never selling bitcoin is not an honest option. If you need money which is locked in bitcoin you are going to unlock the cash. I agree with never sell your bitcoin but not in the literal sense. The vast majority of Bitcoin investors are doing so to strengthen their financial situation, rather than to hold on to their Bitcoin for a lifetime without ever using them. The true key is to never sell the product in response to fear, impatience or in a short-term market swing. When you do need the cash for something else that is important, say, because you have reached a financial objective, or you are just in need of the funds, it is perfectly sensible to part with some of your holdings. Buying and holding Bitcoin is not an assurance that you won't sell it under any circumstances. But rather allowing the value of your investment to rise. An investor is someone who's aware of both taking profits and meeting real-life financial requirements.

We have different types of needs in real life. However, if we are in danger due to unexpected needs or situational reasons where we need money, then it may be logical to use some money from investments. However, we will always try to keep the use of investments last, when our backs are against the wall and there is no other situation than using investments, then some part of the investments can be used. Because in such a situation, solving life's problems is more important for us than holding investments. However, if we need something small, it is not logical to break this investment. Especially if we sell it in panic. Therefore, long-term investments should be made considering that we do not have to sell unnecessarily.

Not everyone in Bitcoin investment owns the Capital used in the investment, some borrow the funds sometime just to know how profitable investing in Bitcoin is, and to some they use funds made for some other projects as to try investing in Bitcoin. When this funds are needed it will result to them horridly selling there holdings before getting to maturity stage. This type of people are the ones at the long run will say that Bitcoin is not productive and not a good investment without taking there time time to study how it really works. This is a very bad way to start investing. If we look deeper, even investing by setting aside your own income still carries risks, let alone starting with borrowed funds, which certainly won’t end well. And speaking of emergencies that force you to sell Bitcoin. Of course, no one wants that to happen. More than that, i personally always divide my remaining funds into three parts: discretionary funds, emergency funds and reserve funds. Discretionary funds are for accumulation Bitcoin. Emergency funds are for emergencies. Reserve funds are for making additional purchases when prices drop or can be used to cover extra costs in an emergency, these funds are flexible. If someone starts with zero funds and has to meet a basic and necessary expense before their next paycheck, they may have to use Bitcoin if they don't have any money until their next paycheck. For example, a person earns $500 every two weeks and their basic expenses are $400, which means they have $100 in discretionary funds. If they use all of that to buy Bitcoin, they won't have any money to meet any basic expenses until their next paycheck in two weeks. One solution to the $100 discretionary fund every two weeks is to divide $33.33 into three parts: 1) Investment 2) Savings (back-up fund) 3) Discretionary consumption. So after 1 year, your total investment will be $866, savings will be $866, and discretionary consumption will be $866. This way, even if you are poor, you can build both at the same time. And the poor need a backup fund more than the rich. I agree that you should never sell your Bitcoin, but not in the literal sense. The vast majority of Bitcoin investors are doing so to improve their financial circumstances, rather than to hoard their Bitcoin for a lifetime and never use them. The essential trick is to never sell the product in response to fear, impatience, or a brief market swing. When you do need the cash for something else that is necessary, say, because you have attained a financial goal, If you simply need the money, it is totally reasonable to sell some of your interests. Buying and holding Bitcoin does not guarantee that you will not sell it under any circumstances. Instead, let the value of your investment to rise. An investor understands the need of profiting while also meeting real-world financial obligations.

The mantra never sell your Bitcoin should be taken as don't make a decision based on feelings and not as do not sell Bitcoin at all. There are Times when life will throw a curveball. medical costs will be incurred or important opportunities. Will emerge and it makes perfect sense to utilize a portion of your investment. Which is why it is essential to have an emergency fund. Rather than just going with Bitcoin. Where a sale occurs, it should be well planned rather than driven out of fear or panic due to volatility in the market. The one thing that usually works best for long-term investors is to wait, but when there is no better alternative, real-life responsibilities come first.

When you say never sell your Bitcoin are you talking about this in terms of holding your investment for a long period of time until it reaches a significant amount or are you talking about holding your Bitcoin and never selling it forever because that wouldn't make any sense. We all know that accumulating Bitcoin for a long term with consistency and patience is what makes you gain a lot but at some point you'd have to sell your Bitcoin.

It is true that accumulating Bitcoin with consistency and patience can bring you huge profits, but you must sell your Bitcoin investment to make a profit. Also, if the opportunity to sell is removed from BTC investment, then maybe no one will invest anymore because we have many investors who are investing in Bitcoin only for the purpose of profit, and many consider it as a means of transaction, while there are some investors who are attracted to this currency as a protection against inflation. So at this point it can be said that if there is an opportunity to make a good profit, investors should definitely sell BTC. Also, there is no way that investors will buy Bitcoin and not sell it, but it is true that the temptation to sell BTC in the short term should be resisted by every investor.

Yes, I agree with what you said. Because every time we buy and hold Bitcoin, we're constantly tempted to sell or when the price drops, we panic, so the phrase never sell Bitcoin needs to be held firmly. I think the phrase never sell Bitcoin appears to motivate us to invest Bitcoin not for the short term, but for the long term. Every investor's goal is to make a profit, so it doesn't make sense to buy Bitcoin and never sell it. So the phrase never sell Bitcoin is actually a motivational phrase that helps us avoid the many temptations that occur in the market. The phrase never sell Bitcoin also helps us sell as little as possible and for as little time as possible. The point is it doesn't mean you shouldn't sell, but rather that you shouldn't be easily tempted to sell.

Most investors are not investing so they could reap their investment rather they investing and building a solid foundation for their generation yet unborn,it actually makes no sense right but that’s what most investors have decided to do.Then I would say that majority of the investors are profit minded, what would be the essence of you watching your asset grow in profit and not withdrawing it?anyways to some it may not be their financial target or goal, whether short term or long term investment the primary goal is to withdraw when your investment has yielded the profit you’ve long waited for.If you’re not planning to secure the investment for your descendants, then you’d sell it when the time comes, not all bitcoiners can resist the temptation of selling their bitcoin in the short term.

If someone's initial goal in buying Bitcoin is to invest, they should hold onto it for as long as possible, regardless of market conditions. Selling it doesn't guarantee a profit, or vice versa. Sometimes, listening to others can be misleading. At least invest in your own style and method, as everyone has their own path. So, there's no need to panic when the market drops or vice versa. Alternatively, you can implement Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) investing, which is more profitable and faster, as your Bitcoin will continue to accumulate as the market moves.

I agree that “never sell your Bitcoin” is not an all-embracing rule. Long-term holding has been successful with many investors, but sometimes, selling is the best call based on individual objectives and financial requirements. Liquidity is the key factor in markets, and it is essential that there be active buyers and sellers in order to discover the price and to ensure the health of the market. Some people make money on it, invest in more income-generating assets and then reinvest that money into more bitcoins. Ultimately, you must choose the strategy that works for you; not one that's based on an ad campaign slogan.
If you are borrow money to buy Bitcoin that is not good step because you will lose your mental health and you will feel discomfort as you got other people money and he will disrespect you at any time when you will meet to him. Always Invest your own money which you have in your pocket for investment and you don't care of that money if you will lose because Bitcoin is that kind of investment if you will forget it then it will give you profit and if you will keep on eyes on that you will lose your most of the money which you invested on that . People have financial goals and they want to earn money but that is not possible for them. People who are earning from different platforms they have money and they will Invest their money in cryptocurrency.

I will be honest until a few years ago, I did not really understand what “never sell your Bitcoin” meant. I thought the point was simply that you should never sell Bitcoin because its exchange rate would keep rising. Why sell something that is gaining purchasing power
But when I started spending time with Bitcoiners, attending Bitcoin meetups, and reading books from the Austrian School of economics, I realized that this was not the real point. That is when I finally understood why Bitcoiners say: “Never sell your Bitcoin.”
Do you truly understand why Bitcoiners say, “Never sell your Bitcoin”?
We should start saying trade instead of sell. Sell makes it seem like Bitcoin is not the currency but rather can be sold for the "real" currency. It perpetuates the ptsd that fiat has given us humans throughout history. It validates our reliance on it. I do not like it. But I agree with OP's sentiment. I do not plan on trading my Bitcoin in for anything because nothing is as valuable as Bitcoin will be in the future. But eventually we will need to trade some of our holdings for life's other many pleasures. Like lambos So it would be more accurate to say: never trade in your Bitcoin for perpetually value-declining fiat as your main held currency. I agree with what you've just said."Never trade in your Bitcoin for perpetually value-declining fiat as your main held currency." This one made me pause because "never" is a big word for someone who's only been holding a few months. I get the philosophy behind it, but I also don't want to turn a smart strategy into a religious rule I can't question. Right now my plan is "not selling," not "never selling," and I think that distinction actually matters.

When you say never sell your Bitcoin are you talking about this in terms of holding your investment for a long period of time until it reaches a significant amount or are you talking about holding your Bitcoin and never selling it forever because that wouldn't make any sense.
Our main thing is to plan, if the plan is right then Bitcoin should be held for a long term and there should be no thought of selling Bitcoin. As far as I know if you are greedy then there is a possibility of selling Bitcoin, only greedy people give up Bitcoin after getting a small benefit, this is not at all advisable. Bitcoin should be invested for a long term and according to the plan, if Bitcoin never sells then what is the benefit of holding Bitcoin? So we have to plan and after holding it for a long term then we must sell otherwise the profit will not be taken. We all know that accumulating Bitcoin for a long term with consistency and patience is what makes you gain a lot but at some point you'd have to sell your Bitcoin.
That is why I say the plan must be correct, because of course we have to sell Bitcoin at a time when we will reach the end of the Bitcoin journey or holding plan as per the plan. Then when the price of Bitcoin improves and we take more profit, we will sell or release the Bitcoin holding. If we talk randomly, then the newbies will get confused, so the newbies should not be misled in any way. Those who have been holding Bitcoin for a while may get confused and leave their holdings at a loss. Therefore, whatever advice we give must be correct and we will keep the Bitcoin investment as per the plan and be successful in the future journey.

Straightway no one person has any wealth for long. Ownership of wealth changes and wealth moves from one person to another in cycles. A reasonable person would not want to keep their wealth in a centralized location because they would be trying to maintain a potential and productive position and diversify their wealth. At this point, you need to decide how much weight you should give to decentralized wealth compared to centralized wealth. You need to find out the risky assets and the less risky assets among decentralized wealth and make your best decision. Op recommendations not to sell Bitcoin which is literally important in terms of building up a Bitcoin holding alongside real assets and making regular deposits until the Bitcoin is a decent size. People build wealth and stay financially secure. In the current context, inflation has become a normal phenomenon in the global economy. To prevent the depreciation of excess cash funds from its effects it is important to continue to accumulate Bitcoin regularly and through discretionary income with the goal of holding Bitcoin for as long as you are able to earn.

The lesson is to refrain from putting money to work that is not theirs, for borrowed money puts pressure on one, and when times get ups and downs, it can trigger emotional reasoning. By only putting money you can afford to lose in the investment, you're giving yourself the patience to ride through the low times. Meanwhile, it is perfectly OK to sell some bitcoins for actual purposes and financial management. Discipline, risk management and personal financial objectives are a key component of a successful strategy, and not slogans.

People have financial goals and they want to earn money but that is not possible for them. People who are earning from different platforms they have money and they will Invest their money in cryptocurrency. I believe the better approach is to have an investment strategy rather than blindly take the advice of never sell your Bitcoin. It's not always a bad idea to sell. Though if you're able to achieve a key financial objective. Or rebalance your portfolio. Meanwhile, I fully agree that it's not necessary to use debt to invest in Bitcoin. And this is a risk to add to the mix. It's a lot easier to be patient enough to weather the ups and downs of the stock market, and not act on emotion when buying and selling, when you are only investing with funds you can be patient with and don't need to pay off debt with.

That is why Bitcoin investment should be dependent on your income so that you do not have to face danger later. If you face danger in terms of income, then your Bitcoin investment will be in danger, so you can protect your Bitcoin holding by forming an emergency fund. Therefore, you must know the unknown strategies, to sustain Bitcoin investment for a long time, it is most important to form an emergency fund, you should use prudent income, maintain continuity of purchases, and increase the source of income. In all, we can protect Bitcoin investment by following the DCA method, so if you follow these strategies, you can start the journey of Bitcoin holding correctly in the future and stay until you succeed. In this way, if new investors follow the strategies, they will also easily pass the journey to success.

Trust me, even if we tell newbie never to sell their Bitcoin, they are not going to follow that advice. They are not that naive. And even those who always advise others never to sell Bitcoin may not necessarily follow that advice. Saylor is an example.
Regardless the hype around the profitability of long term investment, no investor will just buy his asset without a selling plan, that's not possible at all, the relevance of a buy is that you're going to eventually sell at a point in time regardless of how long your holding duration spans to. The idea of not selling or rather not overly emphasizing on selling is just so an investor spends a reasonable time accumulating a larger chunk of bitcoin such that his profitability is on the increase but saying that such warrant an investor to keep holding and never to sell his asset is a No No. Even the greatest of investors and some of the asset we never thought will eventually get moved from what overtime almost looked like a dominant wallet eventually got moved. That in itself tells of one fact and that's the fact that as much as buys exist, we can't take out sells.
