There's a style of dress code that Mark Zuckerberg the founder and CEO of Facebook is fond of if you look at him closely and that is a t shirt, Jean and simple Nike shoes.
It's a signature dress code according to him that makes him comfortable and eliminates the need for sorting through the closet looking for the best outfit for the day.
This simplistic dress code is cheaper to afford, makes him presentable enough, makes him blend into the crowd and saves time  of which is important when thinking and working to make money.

I believe in a rather simplistic dress code for ease and efficiency and as long as it is clean and you smell nice, you can get through any door you intend to open when seeking to improve your personal economy.

There is a popular saying that "how you dress is how you will be addressed" meaning that dressing is he first thing people see whenever they see a person. I don't know if the discussion will fall under the category of an off topic discussion but I just had the thinking that there is a place dressing and looking good and how it affects your personal economy because when personal economy is good the society economy becomes better. There is this idea that some people have and I have heard from some around that if you actually need help you should not try to overdress or dress in a manner that looks like you do not need help so that people who can actually help you financially or with opportunities do not believe that you do not need your help based on you are good looking and put together already, but I am of the opinion that you should actually dress properly so that you would be approachable or be able to approach individuals who are in a position to be able to help you and they would help you probably without looking down on you. What is your opinion on this, still dressing up when you need help or dressing like the help you need?

IIRC, I've watched a docu that featured a guy who dresses to show how wealthy he is even if he's not. It's within the roots of their culture that someone who dresses good can be said that he's doing well in life. And can't blame that guy for doing that for how he wants the respect of the society through how well he dresses. IMHO, it doesn't matter how good or bad someone dresses. Because it's all about the comfort you feel with what you wear.

This is not a matter of dress in the way you want to be addressed. The fact that someone needs help should not make them to appear needy. There are people who naturally appear classy despite their financial problems just like someone looking fat while they are not feeding fine.

So in my view, it is better to look nice if you can afford to before you approach your helper. It doesn't stop your helper to understand the predicament you are and if they are destined to help you then they will. Sometimes your helper may choose to give you "net" to fish for yourself (connection, contact, contract) and not just the fish which will be a one time stop thing. However, if you don't look smart and attractive plus confident with your appearance, you may not attract the net and real help that will unlock many more doors.

Indeed your personality is affected by your attire and appearance. One of my friend is working in a pharmaceutical company and there company isn't recognised by many however there competition is with multinational organisations and most of the time they beat them because of there presence and appearance in front of the doctors. I believe that 90 percent of the doctors are convinced to their products because of their appearance. The company emphasises on their dressing more than anything else and that is why they are moving forward.

I believe there is difference between looking flamboyant, lavish and looking nice. People that who are going for interview should understand it that they are going there to sell theirself first by the way they appear especially for the particular occasion. You don't appear unkept and badly dressed when going for a formal occasion or interview. Likewise, if you are already employed and going to represent your company, you have to be at your best because you are the image maker of the company at that point.

Sincerely speaking, dressing matters a lot in our society, and as we know the way you dressed that Is the way you should be addressed, and if you dressed like a prostitute that is the way you should be addressing because you made people understand that you are that kind of person. So, dressing up properly would make people looks to you are a good person even though you are a bad person they would e that convinced that you are responsible person because our economy today does not need people who are made or even dressing strips naked that is why prostitute presents themselves to be naked that is they are easily being justified.

It depends on what you are dressing for, if you want to meet somebody for financial help, you can always look good despite your financial condition, The person that wants to help you doesn't have to look at your condition or your style of dressing before helping you, except the the person helping you want you to be naked before you to appear to him that you really need the financial help or sympathetic towards you, else there is really nothing there in looking good. there is a saying in our local parlance that " cleanliness is next to Goliness", while looking good is for your own personal hygiene, it shouldn't be seen as though a broke man shouldn't dress well, and anybody that wants to give you financial assistance and looks at the way you dress and start saying oh because of the way you dress I cannot help you, you look rich,  that means that person truly does not want to help you even though you dress sloppy.

Dressing does not affect the situation of the economy, its a personal preference that reflects one's style or character. I think you're misunderstanding the concept of the word "economy " or it could just be your own way of expressing yourself but both dressing and economy are two distinct entities.

But in a general perspective, dressing portrays a lot about a person as popular saying "dress the way you want to be addressed" is not just a phrase but a real life matter. But the aspect of dressing to look nice while in need of help is not entirely bad, most people are just so neat regardless of their condition. You could dress clean and not flashy and be in need of help, you don't need to look dirty to ask for help.

That saying is very common in Africa cause nobody wants to employ someone who dresses like a mechanic inside the bank that's why there is a choice of dressing for those working in a corporate organization and those in the bank. Even in business transactions the appearance of someone will determine how they will treat and respond to him, if he's looking classy he's going to be respected but if he's looking dirty they will see him as a hungry person and the job will likely not be given to him.

For my opinion it all depends on what kind of help you want, is it a financial help or employment help. There is a say, that says you will be address according to how you dress which is truth. But, I am telling you for free that no matter how you dress, whoever that wants to help you will help you. So, if you want help dress according to the level of help you want. I don't remember exactly who said that but there is famous saying: "People are greeted by their clothes and remembered/sent  with their words". Its really important to be good looking if you are seeking power among the community that you wanted to be there. Its also mindset too. If you look dirty, bad, insecure nobody respect you and wont listen you. But on the other hand if you look cool, welldressed and confident they will respect you and listen even if you are talking nonsense
