  Dobbscoin (BOB) ANN, topic 792459 — live since January 2014.

  The account I operate, dobbscoin, holds the OP-edit rights on the Dobbscoin ANN. Both have been locked for some time — my best guess is long-idle cleanup, since neither was actively posting for years while I worked on community-side channels (Discord, GitHub, the chain itself). Email and PM appeals haven't gotten a response, so posting publicly in case visibility helps.
  
A few things in case any flag is attached:

  1. The project is active, not abandoned. Three consensus-level hardforks shipped in the past 30 days:
  

• v0.11.0 LWMA-3 Restoration — tag 2026-05-22, activates at mainnet block 1,888,808 (~2026-07-16).
• v0.12.0 AuxPoW Activation — tag 2026-06-01, activates at block 2,000,000 (~2026-12-17).
• v0.13.0 Emergency Difficulty Recovery — tag 2026-06-02, activates at block 1,888,888.

2. Not a Church of the SubGenius copyright concern — the project has the explicit written blessing of both Church co-founders. At project launch in 2014, Rev. Ivan Stang and Philo Drummond reviewed the Dobbscoin project and gave it a public endorsement, posted to scrubgenius and preserved at https://dobbscoin.info/images/stang-blessing.png.

The verbatim opening line, in caps: "BITCOIN BOB IS COOL AND THE DOBBSCOIN PROJECT IS DOBBS-APPROVED!" — and continuing: "Philo and I both agree that the DobbsCoin project is a good SubGenius project. It has all the earmarks: it won't make a dime for anyone except 'Bob.' … Repeat: it is a classic SubG project." I'm also a dues-paying ordained SubGenius minister and a member of scrubgenius (the Church's private members-only successor to alt.slack since 2009, restricted to verified $30+ ministers). The "Wall Street Bob" mascot image we use across (BOB)'s branding —  https://dobbscoin.info/images/WallStBob.png — came through scrubgenius itself. The Dobbshead trademark is held by The SubGenius Foundation, Inc.; we credit and acknowledge it on every page and every release. No takedown action from CoSG, the Foundation, or Rev. Stang in 12 years of operation — quite the opposite.


3. The OP is visually broken because of the lock. The OP's inline images render as broken-image placeholders for every viewer. Bitcointalk's image proxy serves a placeholder for the original (still-live) image hosts, and the only fix is to edit the OP and swap to an allowlisted host like imgur — which requires unlocking the account that posted the OP. New visitors landing on the thread are getting a visually-broken top post for a project that is actively shipping consensus code every two weeks.

Ask: restore dobbscoin (primary, holds OP edit rights), I can verify ownership any way that's useful — domain control (dobbscoin.info, subgenius.finance), repo control (github.com/SubGeniusFinance), social-handle control, the original registration email (dobbscoin@gmail.com), or signing keys on any of the v0.11.0 / v0.12.0 / v0.13.0 release artifacts.

I'm gonna stop you right there hoss. The thread you have linked above is currently unlocked. Anyone can post in it. I can see the OP was updated in 2020 and hasn't posted since 2021.

From my view its hard to tell for sure if the OP account is banned but you can always submit a request for it to be unbanned. Recovering the account may be as simple as doing a password reset. There are a few such threads currently floating around on the first and second page of this section. In them this process is described.

From my view its hard to tell for sure if the OP account is banned but you can always submit a request for it to be unbanned. Recovering the account may be as simple as doing a password reset. I can not know about reasons of the ban, only admins and moderators know that but looking at the post history of that banned account, I quickly find a possible reason.

Look at this post, there is a signature attached in that post, which is not allowed while that account has many more similar posts.

notocactus is right. The reason the account was banned was breaking that particular rule that was pointed out, and he kept breaking it over and over again. The account was of a full member rank, so I don't know why he did not utilise the signature area. Let him try appealling against the ban, but chances might not be so high.

I can not know about reasons of the ban, only admins and moderators know that but looking at the post history of that banned account, I quickly find a possible reason.

You are not getting the point. I advise you to read the replies well before you think anyone is tripping.

Your friend, or whoever he is, broke one of the forum rules by adding the "SLACK| FUCK 'EM|..." or whatever shit it is in the post area more than 2 times instead of adding it in his signature area, which he even has as per his account rank. As far as we know, the mod who banned him definitely concluded that the advertisement was not substantial and useful. If you think you are going to have the account unbanned based on that, then good luck.

The Crypto Project he started is a cult-coin for The Church of the SubGenius, which is a satirical, counter-cultural parody religion founded in the late 1970s. It critiques consumerism, conformity, and mainstream religious institutions through a chaotic blend of conspiracy theories, science fiction, and absurdism. But why am I even bothering to debate the difference between a private signature, which no one, who isn't in on the satire, would even see, and those who would understand; to - someone who's just trippin'.

What project or activity he advertised in his post is different thing and you know the forum does not moderate scams. Even, just assumed, if he advertised scam in his posts, his account will not be banned.

He did break one forum rule by advertise a project in bbcode signature in his posts, and this activity is not allowed by forum rule. You can complain to moderator that why the account was banned with that rule and his posts, like it is too harsh, and ask for a second chance. There is not reasonable to complain about the rule which has existed and been applied since a long time.

The fix: carved a narrow exception into dobbscoin.info's nginx :80 server block. Image requests (png/jpg/gif/webp/svg/ico) on plain http:// now serve the raw bytes directly with expires 7d — no redirect. Everything else still 301s to https. Files on disk are exactly where they've always been since 2017; the change is purely how nginx routes the request.

Personally, I have very few fucks to give. I just hate seeing the image in a discredited state because of an image proxy failure.

Right. He should have been using his signature space for that reason. Looking through the posts of dobbscoin it appears he did only leave the fake signature in threads that he started, and the links are more or less relevant to the thread. You doing the same thing in this thread doesn't really help your cause's chances.

I wouldn't worry so much about the broken links. A couple years ago imgur stopped loading image requests from this forum, so the problem affects all projects in your situation.

The dobbscoin account holds OP-edit rights on the (BOB) Dobbscoin ANN (topic 792459, live since January 2014). I'm relaying on his behalf because email and PM appeals to staff have gone unanswered for ~30 days. The OP urgently needs editing — three consensus-level hardforks shipped in the past 30 days that the OP doesn't yet reflect (v0.11.0 LWMA-3 Restoration, v0.12.0 AuxPoW Activation, v0.13.0 Emergency Difficulty Recovery, all tagged on GitHub).
