Banned Users Per Month 2025-2026, What Rules Get People Banned Most

There are several reasons to get you banned in the forum. Out of curiosity, I pulled data for last 18 months to see what actually get people banned here.
Here's overview of banned users in 2025 and the first half of 2026. Moderation focuses on keeping the forum clean, high quality to reduce spam and low effort post.

Note: Exact official monthly or per-reason statistics are not publicly published. My analysis is based on visible patterns particularly from LoyceV's banned lists  (loyce.club) and BPIP (bpip.org) data. Numbers below are approximated/estimated based on reported activity. Real figures fluctuate with spam waves.

From my findings, Plagiarism remains the major reason for bans. Most bans can be avoided by adding original content and acknowledge the sources.
I stand to be corrected. I would also appreciate if someone can help fix the table. If Meta is not the right board for this, Mod should please move to appropriate board.

Good statistics by the way, plagiarism is the highest just like you stated and when you even draw out data for most offense commited plagiarism is also part of them. As for unauthorized and shady services, most of them will most likely be tagged and that's where it ends most times.

Cases that usually escalate to ban are mostly those that involve things that are generally banned on the forum and one of them is mixers I'm not sure their cases in end with tags only.

I think you should have added a link to back up the sources you got these data from, so that it can also enable others to access it and verify if the data you presented are actually correct. However, I saw where you wrote ban evasion as having multiple accounts, that's not true. Ban evasion means opening a new account and making posts with it when your previous account was banned.

First thing is your admission of not been good with tables I think you can actually read this thread to actually learn how to insert a table easy take away is to actually visit thread that has similar table and number of contents like you want and then click the quote function and see the way the table was actually created or in some cases you can just copy the codes there to com and put in your own thread. Check the above thread link for codes for various tables and possibly you could try to re-edit the thread once again.


As for the reason for banning plagiarism will definitely be the one at the top of that table because there people who unintentionally and mostly intentionally wants to grow through the forum with rapid rate without proper knowledge and they result into using other people’s work most especially in this period of AI growth. AI usage has had its judgement passed which places it under the plagiarism umbrella too.

That's not easy work to assess all of the day and make sense of them. Mods usually just put in the same response for all bans. If they are temporary bans you can assume they are for spam and if they are nuked you can assume the last post they made was the reason for it, but you'll need to track those deleted posts. Are you doing it manually?

Also the forum doesn't moderate scams, no one would get banned for that here.

I never knew that this number of people are banned every other month. I can only imagine the volume of work the admins and staff are doing behind the scene to fight plagiarism and other negative tendencies that would have messed this forum up.

He added where he got the data from which are loyce.club and bpip.org; these are places that hold such date so he simply analyzed the data to arrive at the presentation. There are tools that can be used for such analysis like Power BI and even AI tool like Gamma can help.

For those who prefer writing their code they can use Python + Pandas to get the work done.

Is there any chance you can pull up the data for the total number of new registered users for each month and have it compare it with the existing banned user stats?

I'm not sure whether this kind of data is publicly available, but imo, it would make sense to present these two types of data side by side...would make a nice comparison... there are also, "recently woke up", "password/email change" type of data.

I am actually surprised that the number of users banned each month is that high. I actually thought that there would just be a few dozen each month. This is mostly because we barely get any user appeal for their account to get unbanned for plagiarism, unlike those days when you would find about 5 ban appeals by members on the front page of the Meta Board.

An average of 950 to 1100 bans per month is a huge number, and a daunting task for the mods.

I don't have new registered user's data yet. But even if I have the data, we'll not have a perfect comparison because someone might register in January and and probably get banned in later months. So comparing Jan bans and Jan sign up would be inaccurate.

The reason is written by the mod who banned them. When you open the ban list, each banned account has a reason column where it stated why they were banned and by whom.

Mods don't make comments on reason of ban. I'm assuming you're using an AI tool which aided you with some of this analysis? Since this seems to be an hallucination. Unless you're just confusing autoban, nuke and all the different types of bans meanings. The closest the public has to reasons would be the deletion log: https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php and that doesn't really give you explicit reasons, but rather user was nuked for this post and using various data archives you could potentially extract a likely reason. However, that isn't perfect either.

I think the "Reason for Ban" column can probably be safely ignored. Since, I imagine it isn't very accurate. Compared to my moderation, is far from accurate. Although, that's just my personal experience and its going to vary by board and moderator.

You did not base on anything to have that estimate, so it's a very useless and inaccurate estimate. I don't consider it as an estimate at all, as estimates must be based on something.

From forum's sec log page, there are only information for woke up, password reset via email, password reset via secret question, password changed, and manual recovery.

I'm not sure whether this kind of data is publicly available, but imo, it would make sense to present these two types of data side by side...would make a nice comparison... there are also, "recently woke up", "password/email change" type of data.

While information about banned accounts is available at another page, forum's mod log which only has two information types for account bans: Nuke or Autoban. No other information, no reason given there.

BPIP and my site don't have any data on the reason someone was banned, and you don't have access to "reported activity". So where does the data on reasons for bans come from? Nobody gets banned for scamming.

I would also appreciate if someone can help fix the table.

The number of banned accounts is higher than I would have expected. I assume most of them aren’t long time users and are probably just throwaway accounts that are only used for nefarious purposes. Like others have said, the reasons mentioned for those accounts getting banned doesn’t seem accurate.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the profiles of the five most recently banned or nuked users on loyce.club and this was my assessment of their most recent posts:

A larger sample size would give us a better picture, but I’m guessing most people who get banned would fall into a category of spamming or spreading malware.

I'm not surprised though. Some users seem to deliberately break the rules and when they get punished, since they have more accounts (allegedly), they will come back with those one,  not minding the fact that they could be guilty of ban evasion in the process. Good job to the Op for bringing this to our notice and I like that they used numbers instead of trying to use names of those who have been banned. It would have been helpful though but since they confessed to not knowing how to arrange a table well, it would have been messy.
