According to reports, these are the alleged demands made by the k!dnappers:

1. ₦1 billion to be paid into an account in the Benin Republic.
2. Release of other bandits currently held in Agodi and Abolongo Prisons.
3. Two Hilux vehicles.
4. Amendment of certain Oyo State laws to suit their interests.

If you were Governor Seyi Makinde, would you agree to negotiate under these conditions?

Giving these bandits what they want will only encourage more bandits and terrorism.

The government should use the money to buy drones and increase security in the country. Lack of the right weapon, increase in surveillance and lack of rapid development in modern technology is the problem Nigeria is having right now.

What is really special about all this bandits that the federal government and state government are finding it very difficult to smash them down. Because am pretty sure if it was a normal kidnapers the government would have look for a possible way of tracking them down to their location through the aid of modern technology and get them arrested, so why is this once different, am just curious to know.

However, insecurity in Nigeria has nothing to write about, and I'm pretty sure their are some government officials that has hands in this because you can't tell me that some ground of so called bandits are more than government, that's impossible. Their are more that the ordinary citizens are not getting straight and it pains me more because the common citizens are the people suffering the whole thing. However, since the bandits are now bigger than the government in power that they are now boldly making demands after beheading a teacher and displaying it on a social media for the world to see then I will suggest the federal government seat to their demand before they'll hot more people's in their custody because it's very obvious they're stronger than our government in power.

Nigerian navy already uses Drone technology, they have good intelligence to track and eliminate these bandits, but of course we know that this banditry is persistent and successful because it's politically motivated and it's a new hustling point for government officials.

Yes, government officials, but not only them but other leaders will be involved. But I will like to say northern government officials probably who are Muslims.

I gave you a logical answer from a recent success with UAV, if Nigerian navy has drones which they used to track the guy and arrest him from that area as remote as lake chad, then you should expect that air force has lots of it and they do actually. Let me take you back to a publication from last year. They have lots of them which they've acquired and can actively track bandits anywhere. The insurgency is politically motivated and that's why they're not doing much even with the advanced technology they've purchased.

Air Force purchased  8 UAV as far back as 2020 from China and trained 70 personnel to handle it. Bro they've all these available, na politics be dis banditry of a thing.

If you were Governor Seyi Makinde, would you agree to negotiate under these conditions?

By now, we should have had a State of emergency in the security sector of the country and then it becomes easy to know that there's already a long term plan on how to curb the exceces of these guys. If there's no long term plan on how to deal with these guys, giving them either of these demands will only make them stronger to carry out more crime because the money you do either of these for them, they will come back stronger and deadlier.

Imagine you pay the 1 Billion naira, they will kidnap another set of people within a short period of time and you will still pay another one billion for Thier ransom.

Imagine you release Thier bandit that were held captive, you've also strengthen them in the process and if you give them Hilux they will still use It to increase in Thier kidnapping.

Amendment of the oyo constitution to suit them is a no go area because it only means they are more powerful than the Nigerian government. As much as we want the release of those held captive, we also should consider the long term effect of the price we are willing to pay now for Thier result. Unfortunately, this is not even a bigger problem, the bigger problem is that we don't have a president that's willing to see this problem as something that's very disturbing and that demands the highest level of attention.

If I'm the Governor, first of all I wouldn't be on that state and watch terrorists killing the people of my state, so I would have already stopped them before the kidnapping could have taking place, but however since it has already happened, if not that the government is also involved in all of this, what they could have done is to use half of this amount to get things that could have show them the place they kept those children so that to the bandits mind they would be thinking the state governor is working how to give them there demands but doesn't no there is plot of unaware ambush on them and recover the all the children.
