Business and gambling are never the same thing. Although both have risks, uncertainties, the possibility of losing money and mental stress. But real value can be added to business. But in gambling, money is bet on the outcome.

People start business to take their financial situation to a significant place in the future. But gambling can never take people's situation to a better position. Rather, gambling causes people mental stress and financial loss. In gambling, there is a possibility of loss in most cases. But in business, it is possible to lose and the possibility of profit is 50%-50%. Gambling may be lucky to win a big bet. But in the long run, there is always a loss. But in business, you can earn profit most of the time. Business is a proper source of income. But if you see gambling as a source of income, you will face more losses.

All of your comparisons are superficial, you can't just say starting a business and gambling are more or less the same, that kind of mentality is what pushes people to abandon their chances to start good businesses and spend all they have on gambling instead, telling themselves there are the same thing, if you owned your own business then you wouldn't have this mindset about owning a business and gambling being similar. If you want to start a business then start a business, if you are looking for some validation on slacking off because I'm already thinking that's what you want to do since you are comparing a business to gambling like they are the same thing, the only reason you will want them to be the same is because you don't want to start the business even when you know you need to, they are not nearly the same thing so just start that business and don't compare it to gambling.

Gambling and business are two different things entirely and it is not proper for anyone to even assume gambling and business to be same. Gambling is a game of luck and has nothing to do with strategy or hard work but this is not the same with business. Business can act as a source of income while is never to be treated as a source of income. Also the risk involved in gambling is very high when compared to that of a business. There is a big difference between business and gambling. I will never compare business with gambling. Gambling is a game of luck. You can do the right research use the right strategy but at the end of the day the results can be the opposite, so luck plays a big role here. But it is true that there is risk in business, but your knowledge mindset right strategy patience can gradually bring you success. To be successful in business, you must work hard along with this. You must have a proper plan and it is good to have an emergency fund to deal with unknown dangers. To be successful in business, you have to persist for a long time and you cannot get disappointed quickly.

If you goal is for long term and there is a potential good cashflow and you think you are getting fun having a business. Go for it. But if your goal is to get entertained, spending money without assured to win, or lets say you have the talent to win in gambling and you are well skilled gambling is the ideal but for me, I do not consider gambling as a form of asset unlike having a business. Not all the time gambling gives a money instead more likely an expense and not a cashflow as an inflow to your banks and wallets like businesses.

Business is business and gambling is gambling. You don't need to use one to replace the other in the sense that, gambling isn't what one rely on to make profit since, you cannot be profitable in the long run. If you try to treat gambling as a business, it means that you will be gambling often and that will make you get addicted because you are gambling in an unhealthy manner.

You are right. It is foolish to compare gambling and business. They are two completely different things. It is  true that there is high risk in both. Even if I work hard, it is not possible to  guarantee that I will succeed in  business. But if I work hard and know the strategy, the chances of succeeding in business are high.

On the other hand, gambling is always  dependent on luck. If we are lucky, we can win a large amount of  money. But in gambling, the chances of losing are higher  than winning. There are very few gamblers who are profitable in the long run. Especially in slot type games, it is almost impossible to profit in the long run.

In my opinion, you can make it easier. It is better to have all the information related to the business before starting a business in real life. It is better to plan how much money you can lose if your idea is ruined. But I cannot compare real life business to gambling. Rather, I want to solve any problem of the people of the society through my business or find a way to make a difficult task in people's daily life easier. Starting a business is risky. Gambling is risky. But starting a business cannot be gambling. Both are risky, but you can't say gambling is starting a business. So why will business be gambling? Both are risky. That's just it.

Business is different from gambling in the sense that: before you start a business, you would have identified the risk, yes. Also whether the business will always be needed. For example, you are in a country where most people are gamblers. Let's say 89% of the population are gamblers. You are very certain that if you open this business, you will find your own customers. I would say the biggest discrepancy is in value creation. In gambling no new wealth or value is actually created, it's just money from one person's pocket going into another's pocket. I’ve been giving a lot of thought lately to the concept of risk. I am currently planning to launch a real-world commercial business, and the deeper I get into the planning phase, the more I realize how many parallels it shares with gambling.
It made me wonder Is starting a business just a socially acceptable form of high-stakes gambling?

Risk Management vs. House Edge
In Gambling You calculate the odds, accept the house edge, and manage your bankroll to survive variance.
In Business You conduct market research, evaluate competitors, and manage your capital. However, instead of a house edge,you face market volatility, inflation, and changing consumer behavior.
The Illusion of Control
In Gambling Poker players rely on skill, but a bad beat can ruin a perfect strategy. Sports bettors analyze stats, but a single referee decision can spoil the bet.
In Business you can have the perfect business plan, the best suppliers, and great marketing, but an unexpected economic shift can completely wipe you out.

So in a nutshell, this should tell you that in life nothing is guaranteed, both in gambling and in business, as there are some level of risks that you just have to be willing and ready to accept or neither let go in both aspects. Because despite how many people may claim that both gambling and starting a business is risky, it doesn't stop the fact about some people making profits in them. But in business,, you start a higher chances of making huge success in long term, than just trusting luck while gambling. Because In gambling, luck plays over 70% of the chance for you to succeed, while your strategy plays the remaining 30% chance for you. Unlike in business whereby your strategy, marketing skills and everything plays the 70%, while luck plays the remaining 30%.

You are really overthinking this. There is risk in business for a new startup, but the risk is nothing compared to the risk of gambling, which can't completely be managed. In business, with proper research, you can reduce the risk of completely losing out because of economic shift or any policy that can affect your business, you already need to study all of that and put safety measures in place anything that happens is what you should be partly aware of and be prepared and not like gambling which what you do more is accepted you have lost the money you stake immediately you place a bet.
