Well I think the verdict will come after the final when the World Cup winner has already been known, during that period all the news would be about the World Cup winners, the World Cup quarter finals can be a distraction but not so much of a distraction as during that World Cup winning team early days of the celebration, all the news will be about the World Cup winners for even more than a week.
Honestly I think they have been delaying this verdict and pep is no longer the coach of Manchester City.

Haha, the timing is surprising, yes! It is now 2026, and the violations themselves occurred between 2009 and 2018  But for some reason no one has been able to punish the oil club during this time, although the likes of Ludogorets and Everton receive punishments very quickly and for much lesser offenses. It is noteworthy that UEFA, which were the first to try to punish City, ultimately went with the 4th option that I indicated in the poll. I don't think the League will have the nerve to repeat this trick, they'll probably just issue a lenient punishment and leave it at that.

I would not be surprised if they get cleared of most of the charges and only get a small fine as punishment. We could have really used a point deduction years ago when Arsenal were trailing behind City for the premier league title. That's very harsh but with the way they are delaying it, there is high possibility that they will soften the punishment and I don't think that they will send City on relegation but if that happens, it means that City is finished and it will be a big lesson to the rest EPL clubs. I almost forgot about this case. 

This case is so old, and I heard it was already in court two seasons ago (as far as I can remember), but there's something suspicious here. With the process taking so long that everyone has almost forgotten, I predict City will only be fined a small amount, and it will be made public when the World Cup kick off.

Nobody even cares if they are actually guilty or not, from the look of it. All rival fans just want them punished. It's now a case of guilty until proven innocent. 
Even if they are found not guilty, people are still going to believe what they want to believe. What is in everybody's head is that they are guilty; there is nothing you can tell them.

When you look at the charges, most of them are not that serious to warrant being relegated as people want, actually. Fines, point deduction, and transfer bans are the worst-case scenarios.

I am among the people who do not expect any positive results from the verdict, the people who own Manchester City are still the people who it, there is enough money for them to influence the verdict and get a lighter punishment. I never knew about this until I read your thread. Seems pretty insignificant for a layman, but the rules are simple and some what strict. I don't know why the case should be different with city-- why the football federation wants to sweep it under the carpet, but I guess they must have had an agreement on settlement behind the scene.
I think the delay is louder than the punishment we're all expecting on them, but since there's a main event coming up soon, I'm afraid they'll ignore it for later.

This might be weird but I won't be surprised if they actually drop all charges against Manchester city and come some flimsy excuse on why they took that decision.
For me they already had alot of time to deliberate on if Manchester city is guilty or not but they have just been carrying their heavy legs on the case looking for a soft padded landing for Manchester city. Although nothing should take away the good football Manchester city has displayed for a decade under Pep Guardiola.

Suppose Manchester City is severely punished by going down to the championship or lower division then this club can be dissolved, then the other players will leave except for loyal players, it could be just amateur players. haha

If money was being taken out of the UK this way, everyone involved would go straight to jail, but the UK loves dirty money 
Mancini's double salary is also a laughable example: at City, he earned 1.45 million a year, while as a consultant to Al-Jazira (also owned by Sheikh Mansour), he earned 1.75 million. With such tricks, City violated Financial Fair Play.

City even took the EPL to court in 2024 pertaining to sponsorship deals linked to club owners, and they won the case. The court ruled that part of the law was unlawful and against the UK's competition law. This is part of the reason why the "115 charges" have been dragging on forever.

Well maybe you mean the independent panel will want to favour Manchester City at some point and trying to deliver their findings and judgement at the time the heat of world cup will overtake the news. But, I don't think so. I don't think the world cup will overshadow the suppose media "noise" from the 115 charges against Manchester City if delivered at such time because it is a separate matter entirely that bothers on financial abuse and corruption.

However, I think the delay in releasing verdict and or punishment is because of the nature of the matter or allegation which is very heavy. Proper care has to be given to it, to avoid setting a wrong precedent. As it stands, multiple evidences have been shown against mancity and the panel must go through them before giving judgement.

Manchester City is still not agreeing on those allegations which makes it more complicated and they are ready to go for appeal after the ruling is delivered against them. So we can see it is a matter that won't just be overshowed by the euphoria of the world cup and we wait to see how it will go.

Please look at the responses of other participants in the thread, about half of them admitted that they had already forgotten about this case completely. The delay strategy works 100%, people don't have the resources to worry about something for several years and not forget about it. And the distraction strategy works even more effectively. I'm sure that if the verdict is handed down in a "calm" time when there's little news, the public's reaction will be completely different than if the verdict is published in the midst of the World Cup. There's not much time left to wait, we'll see who's right. However, nothing's stopping them from delaying their verdict for another year or two.
