I am more curious to know, how much money you wagered during this period and how much money you won or lost and have you gambled in sports or casinos, rather than posting something which is obvious and not a new discovery. I don't think that he's going to disclose that although it's interesting to know with all of those gambling hours he has spent. I guess that he's more into losses than wins. And just like each of us, we've got more losses in a life time than winning our bets. And the lesson that everyone will have to say is the usual thing about not to gamble with an amount we can't afford to lose. But this amazes me that OP has really got that 1k+ hours of gambling. He's a certified gambler with that and maybe he's got a lot of free time doing it aside from having a job.

Every player can be triggered by dopamine but we know that some people have the self control that other do not have Why people have different self control in gambling is due to the experience the gambler have acquired..A gambler who doesn't experienced losses in gambling, will not be able to control itself, so it's where a dopamine acts in human being, it's responsible also in motivation that makes gamblers not to control their emotions... but the ability that one can control this sensation is what makes them responsible gamblers, But do you know that you have experience of things or you're aware of something already, a dopamine will not be easy to activate in you...but if you're not aware of something it will increase its speed of motivation that will lead to motivation...

Dopamine is that chemical trap that turns the uncertainty of risk into a compulsive quest for immediate reward. When gambling or any addiction hijacks this mechanism, you no longer seek true pleasure, but merely try to fill a void that keeps widening. Yes, it's true that dopamine is actually the feel good hormones in the body that triggers our brain when it experiences a reward for an activity such as gambling and pleasure. And as gamblers, it's true that we stand a high chances of triggering this feel good hormones in our body, most especially when you are lucky and wins a jackpot. And our ability to control this feel good hormones, actually matters a lot, because your inability to be able to manage it effectively is what could cause issues like gambling addiction and many other types of addiction like drugs, after your brain might have triggered you into feeling good about it.

Lessons Learned from 1000+ Hours of GAMBLING : What I’ve Discovered !
1000+ hours to discover Dopamine. And it is the rewards you got form gambling that brought the Dopamine and it should be a reinforcement habit in gambling. What makes gamblers to continue gambling is the rewards getting from it and if there is none then nobody would like to participate again. We all know that as gamblers. A smart gamblers would know that within few hours. Aside the rewards which is not the real dopamine triggered by gambling we have a much higher dopamine which is the anticipation of the result which is what keeps gambler's in that position of seeking more fun even when it more difficult to get it from the casino, gambling is addictive and we should avoid it tendency.

You are right absolutely, and I see this as another reminder that those who must gamble must gamble to stay safe and healthy, most especially brain health because every addiction starts from the brain, that is the brain getting used to something due to frequent use and or engagement in that thing, like gambling which we are discussing about. Whether we are gambling for money or for fun, it is quite unhealthy to engage in gambling every day even if we have the money and losing it is not a problem at all, there is still the problem of addiction, because the more time we spend on gambling every day, the little by little the brain gets used to that activity even without we ourselves knowing it, what we only will discover is that a time will come, or may be day will come when something else might not permit us the time to go gamble and you notice you begin to feel discomfort and under some kind of pressure to go gamble immediately, that's a sign that ganbming at that particular time is something the brain had become used to and can't do without or easily let go anymore, we must avoid getting ourself to this state no matter what.

I think we don't need to be a like solving NASA equations that gamblers knows the effect of dopamine in our body and that's what most of us are seeking. But still though, that uncertainty with it, gamblers learn how to embrace it that's why we keep on playing for hours. Can we stop, definitely, but it will also take a toll of us, we need to shift our mindset so that we won't fall for the addiction. So it's just a question on whether we can truly stop gambling for good so not to damage our mind and pockets.

Gambling? If you gamble, assuming a big risk for your btc you have "no hope". Don't play. Use limits, cold wallet and so on. No there is no discovery. At least nothing new. Dopamine has a great role (or at least has been identified) but there are many other neurotransmitters that must be taken into account... for sure is nothing to blame. there are some drugs that could deplet your dopamine definetely not a pleasant effect.

You can feels confuse what you want from gambling and makes you playing gambling without stop. Your reason to gamble will be blur and cover it with dopamine which will tells you to continue gambling. You will not feels that makes you change and becoming addicted to gambling but you will feels as usual.
The dopamine will motivating you to place one bet and tempting you by saying who knows you will win next bet. If you can't resist, you will not stops gambling but continue.
Once you addicted to gambling, your body will not feels the alarm especially if you lost much and see it as normal. It is dangerous if you lose control in gambling so many people suggest you to aware.

True ! ... Gambling tricks your brain into ignoring the danger, making risky behavior feel completely normal. It’s a subtle trap where dopamine keeps you chasing the next win, silencing the warning signs until you've lost control.

Seeing the title, I thought there would be more information in the content. However, in the case of gambling, dopamine works more than the joy of winning, in the expectation of winning, uncertainty and the thought that if we play again, we might win. However, you may have noticed that even when gambling, we do not get as excited as we do after depositing money into gambling sites. Because after depositing money, we have expectations and excitement. But when we keep losing while gambling, we feel bad again.

I think dopamine is what keeps people coming back in gambling. Personally I was heavily addicted and kept playing in a compulsive way that led me to losing a lot of money before learning my lesson. That lesson is the more you stay without gambling the less dopamine can impact your decisions, right now I am almost a month without gambling and I don't feel any need or urgency to get back to gambling so I guess this works for people looking a way out. Just don't gamble and I know it sounds very difficult in the beginning but once you reach this stage your overall health improves.

In my case, the encouragement of seeing the casino regularly even though I’m not playing is what makes me keep coming back. I don’t know if this is the effect of dopamine but the more we keep seeing the casino or engage on gambling discussion the more will be attracted to gamble especially if we have available money to gamble. I’m trying as much as possible to limit now my gambling activities due to my current medical condition so I’m using all possible restrictions such as limits and self exclusion on my casino accounts to control my gambling. This is a good tool to fight this dopamine effect.

When gambling or any addiction hijacks this mechanism, you no longer seek true pleasure, but merely try to fill a void that keeps widening. ~ Well, man, people are different and in some cases, what you say is definitely true, but from what we can see with our own eyes, for 90% of gamblers it's not like that. Probably their brain is structured a bit differently and that's why they don't fall into that "chemical trap", as you call it.

It is because it has something to do with how we react whenever we gamble. We become compulsive gamblers and even with awareness, when dopamine works, we can't just stop it quickly. It affects our mental health, our decision making and how we become satisfied when we do things. And as for gambling, that's how it becomes the reason why we continue to gamble so OPs discovery isn't something new but I'm glad he figured that out.

Everyone has dopamine traps. Someone likes to play computer games, and someone just likes to eat ice cream. In both cases, people get dopamine. The difference is how much and how often people need such a "cocktail" of their own feelings. We easily fall into the traps of everything we like, but we must understand that it is always necessary to have a healthy sense of proportion, and then neither gambling, alcohol, no anything more complicated can make us become a slave to addictions.

Having ability to manage ourselves in a right way and make the right decision is very essential in gambling, because everyone has a certainly meet of dopamine level and until we tried to maximize every potentially just to ensure that this does not take us to an extreme level of gambling addiction, this is where we must gamble in a more disciplined manner, because when we fail to caution our emotions in gambling, it may lead to other things beyond our comprehension.

From the details of your research I would assume that you are still a beginner because this information is known to every one that has been gambling for a while. A thousand hours is about 40 days plus and that proves that you are a beginner. Everyone can get triggered by dopamine but some people have self control.
I also did feel same, because even the way the topic was presented, one would think that you are going to see a lot content to debate about but this is something that I feel has been talked about so much on the forum and even in different threads with a different topics, this discussion of dopamine always comes up because we know that it's what makes some people to lose control and go against their plans in gambling.
