It's not exactly a special story, the news always come up with these background ideas that lead to someone winning the lottery. I'm glad this person won, but it would be curious to know how much this person had spent on such a ticket habit leading up to this - maybe $250k over some decades, as lots of people can build up an addiction to scratchcards but are rarely honest about how much they've actually spent overall. There will be lots of people who do the same, with all the outgoings, but never actually hit it big. I just hope this guy is sensible with the winnings and maybe uses it to retire from gambling, as there are plenty of other ways to spend that money in future.

What happens is, like, you know, a lottery can be won up to $2m if you are lucky to buy the winning ticket, which most times each of those tickets can be sold for as little as $1, even lower, but what you can win is $2m if you are lucky. At least this is an advantage of his bad habit of spending money every day because surely this is not a one-time experiment (because it is considered a routine) but fortunately he hit the jackpot because if not it is certain how much loss he has.

On the one hand, this kind of action is done every day for me is risky, okay if indeed this gets a victory like the driver but how about the defeat that awaits it could be that this will continue to last until the end.

True, this person's story is beautiful. But not very inspiring. Because he won completely by relying on his luck. We all know that gambling depends on luck. So it is never a good idea to get greedy after seeing someone's big jackpot. He never bought a lot of scratch tickets at once in the hope of winning big. He bought them in the same sequence as per his daily habit. And his win came completely based on his luck. Gamblers should learn from this story. He never bought more tokens aggressively in the hope of winning big. And he used to buy tokens using the amount of money he could afford to lose with self-control. If a gambler gambles with this kind of control and patience, he will also win a big jackpot someday.

Speaking of routines, there are many people who are doing their daily routines as well, and still they don't win the jackpot yet. In our country, I've seen drivers who are betting on lotto every single day because it's their routine. In my area, I've seen drivers betting on lotto every single day because it's just very near to their terminal where they are waiting for passengers. Every people has their own routine, and as for what the OP has shared, it's pure luck. Well, I wonder how much money did he spend though before winning the jackpot.

You did right sharing the story here as I believe it could serve as a motivation for some one out there to never stop give up trying their luck no matter how hard or impossible winning seems, for personally, my self have come to believe in impossibilities in sports gambling, because no matter how impossible a thing or result appears, one day and some day, someone must and will definitely achieve it.

Though it's always rare, but I believe those who rare things like this happen to are not special species of persons, they are the same people like everyone else, so if rare things can happen to them, it can happen to any body else any where around the world.
So the secret is to never give up trying, but ensure in doing so, you are not putting yourself under any form of financial strain or hardship, always try your luck with an amount you can comfortably afford to lose and I believe one day, the universe will answer the call.

This is one of those cases that luck decides to change your life definitely for the better. Of course the habit here paid off but honestly I know a lot of people who play state lottery and I also any time I am in vacation abroad buy a lotto ticket if that country had such lotto, in a few in Europe I have played with the result of winning nothing. Some people do have a habit of buying a ticket or two every time they drive/go out/when buying newspapers/or whatever. I don't have such habits... I bought a few scratch cards a few months ago because one of my friends had bought some, and I decided to do the same. Of course, I didn't win anything...

Two decades and buying everyday means 365*20*C where C is the cost of each ticket, considering they buy the same ticket singly everyday. That is already coming to 7300C, which is a big chunk of a number in any first world country. It is true that most people will lose at the casino including lottery and that is why the lottery runs everyday and is able to self-fund itself without need from sponsors even if they are there.

The actual thing people need to start doing is controlling their habits. Buy a ticket but once a week. Cut down the extra costs and you can use that to repair your house, buy some chocolates for your kids or the missus.
