Has the problem of the underdeveloped countries shifted from being caused by the government of course it has always been the government, when the leaders do not have foresight what happens, let me use my continent Africa as a case study here, they underdevelopment we are been faced with is because of the leader and the government that is been formed here, imagine when 80% of what's been consumed by a country is been imported, even the crude oil that they are blessed with in abundance is been refined in other developed country just because some set it people don't want the refinery to work so that they will continue to enrich themselves through that means, even when their government said that they have removed subsidy people continue to suffer, I just have to say my mind I think must Africa countries leaders are demons, they aren't humans because you can't travel after seeing how developed other countries are, you come back to continue suffering your people.

You are right mate, the leaders of our country are demons because they are just after themselves and making it look like the refined will not work in the country, because they is where they get a chance to embezzle funds. But the accomplice to this character of underdevelopment through the greedy corrupt local politicians in this underdeveloped nations in the south pole is the external hegemonial powers that help sustain them in power as long as they keep serving their interests by creating environment that gives them access to the country resources to mine and pillage.

Corruption is a major problem now in many underdeveloped countries now. They divert mineral resources to developed countries and shear the money, while the masses suffer for hunger and poverty. They use the money gotten from this to invest in foreign countries or in developed countries while their own country remain undeveloped. This set of people are too many. This causes economic inflation and hardship while we have leaders on seat. Their children school abroad while other children of the common man find it difficult to attend  basic education. All this has increased terrorism and cyber crime. It leed to women doing prostitution and other kind of bad attitude. It has increased scam everywhere, and this keeps increasing so do foreign investors flee and never come back. This is the reason why many countries are underdeveloped.

This is true, I have seen way too many corrupt officials take their money out of their own country, and invest into "west" nations. My country has a politician that has a shipping company that worths over a billion dollars for example. He had absolutely nothing before he became a politician, worked for over 20 years, and he build something huge there, and anytime he did something bad for the country by getting a bribe, he bought another ship, the bigger the bribe, the bigger the ship and he grew to billion dollars valuation that way.

Obviously the company made some money and grew too, and the company even took deals from our own country too, but the company was registered in Belgium or Netherlands or was something like that, could be UK too I forgot.

That's the philosophy we hear, because leaders who are willing to bribe during elections usually try to recoup the money they spent, and this can have a significant impact on their leadership.
The economy is getting tougher, and society is being forced to accept the reality that available jobs are quite limited. What people are experiencing is the difficulty of earning money in the current economic climate.

Leaders' policies are no longer valid, as they focus solely on enriching themselves and their groups, leaving society to suffer the consequences.

Everyone knows what should be done, but most people aren't interested in doing so, because it's more comfortable to maintain the system how it is. For some, it's preferable to play the victim's role, instead of taking responsabilities and making efforts they aren't really interested in doing.

After all, people from third world countries somehow enjoy saying poor of me for not having access to this or that or for being abused by the political class (while endorsing one of the sides of the political polarization).

The main problem why most underdeveloped countries are still the way they are is because of the bad leaders, and I won't just put all the blame on the leaders. The citizens, the people, are also to be blamed because they are easily deceived by bad leaders. These bad politicians use ethnicity and religion as a tool to gain support from the people, and the people have not even thought of this.

When citizens choose leaders based on ethnicity and religion during an economic crisis, it affects everyone. Everyone buys from the same markets and is treated by the same hospitals. If the people understand and look into leadership beyond tribe and religion, they can solve the major problem. If you research developed countries, you will find that the citizens fought for good government. If the citizens are not ready to choose who they want to be their leaders, they will be led by criminals.

Something can actually be done to challenge the government to doing what is needed to be done to cause development in the country but why it's never going to be better is because there is already a huge division among the people in some of those countries and these division is still created by the politicians. I take my country for example, the government are not trying, for real, they use corruption to cheat their way to becoming president and that is also because a large number of youths in the country are reluctant to getting their PVC so they can vote and protect their vote, those are the loopholes that the government leverage on to cheat their way into power. Secondly, instead of the youths to unite and fight for one goal, they are rather fighting themselves because of religion and tribalism, that's why it doesn't get better.

 If the government knows that the large population of their country are United and fighting for one cause, when they are aware that the large population are coming out to vote in the right person, when the candidate wins and assumes sit, he or she will know that if they don't do well on their first term as the president or what ever political position that they have won, they will not be re-elected again for the second tenor.

I know, it sounds like a fair comparision that how Singapore grew to a world-class while India isn't doing great. But Singapore has a total population of 3 million now but India has 1.5 billion at present, which is a huge difference. When the country is in the size of a very small city the government can enforce everything they want, they can even make changes their laws overnight but with a country like India that is not possible and will take forever.

Not to forget, India was a developed nation before Birtish East India company came, so left India after looting everything they can, so India survived that and not even 100 years, now we can't say India isn't a player when it comes to any geopolitical matter.

There are always those who say that the government is a picture of the people especially in a democratic system, which means from the people, by the people and for the people, this is not about who is wrong but often we as a society blame the government without reflecting on ourselves first that the people are also accustomed to corrupt actions.

Or it could be that even a good and honest person when entering into a system that forces him to be bad then he will become a corrupt person too, the question is when people around you are still in the upper middle class and live better while you are in a bad situation, well that question can be thrown back into yourself.

Resources are abundant in underdeveloped countries, both natural resources and human capital resources. All of these are either underutilized or overutilized, yet there are no results to show for it. More citizens need to be brave enough to demand accountability from those controlling their resources.

You've hit on a good point. Isn't it true that leaders often come from the people? It's essentially the same thing. The important thing is to eliminate ignorance, increase education and awareness, otherwise those countries will always remain underdeveloped. There aren't many examples of countries that are underdeveloped they stay there and unfortunately don't have much chance of moving forward.

Underdeveloped contries mostly suffers more than developed contries due to poor leadership and corrupt government. These type of coutries has many talented people and also have a lot of natural resources but corrupt leaders and poor government management don't give pay off to those talented people so there potential lost instead of utilize it. The progress of an country is not identify through its GDP or wealth but its also diagnosed by there management.  We have many example of nations who have almost nothing but there leaders lead the nation by honesty and loyalty and now they are the developed nation of present word. So government should make long term plannings then after palinning honest implimentation of these laws also plays an important role in the progress of country.

But I agree with you, that the country can be better if the government works for the people, to advance the economy, because every country has been provided with abundant resources or even if it is poor in resources, the country can still advance, for example Singapore.
