That's absolutely true, as I've experienced it myself when I win a lot of money on a slot machine. I automatically try to increase my bet, hoping to double my winnings a second time, until I end up losing badly and losing all my initial big winnings. Aahh, seen this couple of times. Big wins then loss. I still don't get why they will do such a thing. Can't you just win big and leave. You must try and get more. Sounds like greed. Lack of self control, overconfidence. Everything we preach about gamblers avoiding seems rushing in back into that person after the big win.

Multiple times I have busted chasing bigger wins. Scared money don't make money though, riding the hot streak is how someone hits something stupid n makes life changing money. Honestly  every one that does  gambling  must have had this experience, except  of course  if you just  started gambling  recently  and have not gotten  any big win. What the big win does  is to give you a false hope/mindset  of I can always  win it again therefore  I should  try to do more, you might not be aware  immediately  of the depth  of it until  you're stock in the middle  when you look at how much  your stacking and losing. thats when you'll realize you've lost so much from what you had just won, and if you can't control  yourself you maybe end up losing everything, what I normally  do is instant  withdrawal  after every  win I take some break and sort my bills untill after few days I can come and try again. I just started  that after I was also a victim  of losing  much after winning  big and it has help me recently.

I have experienced that euphoria and, even though I've never taken stimulants, by the description it seems like it's the same feeling as when you do it.
