Do you ever gamble with your spouse on a cruise?

I recently gambled with my spouse for the very first time. It was a fun and exciting experience for both of us. We were celebrating our anniversary on a cruise ship and I talked her into gambling a little bit on some slot machines and roulette. She was my good luck charm on the slot machine I was losing up until I tagged her in (early before I lose it all lmao) good thing too because she came back and doubled the money we put into the slot machine. Then we kept going and lost it all 😂 but that was after we went to the roulette table and got some numbers in and broke even there, at one point we were going to bet like 60 on 25 red and it hit but i was too hesitant and missed what would have been the absolutebanger win and make it so much more memorable oooooff SHH lmao. It was fun though! We spend 1.5 hours and at the end of the day we lost 25 but it was worth it.

I have never gambled with my wife because she does not like gambling. When I was addicted to gambling, she would sometimes see me gambling and forbid me from gambling. When I was upset after losing, she would suspect that I was gambling. And at that time she would blame me a lot. My wife is completely against gambling, so there was never a chance that I would gamble with my wife. However, I have gambled a lot with my close friends. And when I won in gambling, I would buy alcohol and party with that money.

Gambling can be done at anytime if you have the time for it but a cruise is a vacation and if you are with your spouse sharing that moment it is best you don't turn your attention away from it because if losses starts coming in you might get emotional and ruin your vacation. Another thing to consider is if your partner is okay with it, if you are a gambler and you know that you won't be able to do without it then it's important not to get married to someone that does not like that lifestyle but if you do then it is best not to do it around them.

It's a privilege to be with her and do a cruise and have some time to gamble. I haven't been into a cruise but I think that it's possible to enjoy it with our partners. Although I can't be so sure if she's going to enjoy it but I'm glad that it ended well for OP. If she's going to take you to her entertaining hobby, I guess that you'll have to give that to her and let her go with you as well. It's a give and take relationship.

It is fine if you guys are doing it for fun and also are aware and applying proper risk management to the amount you guys are willing to bet on. The game is really fun when you both share the same feeling and this brings about stronger ties in relationships more often than before. Going on a cruise like this is fun, you’ll definitely feel all the fun in there when you both engaged in activities you like or trying out new.

Marrying a spouse that is also into gambling wouldn’t have been a great choice of pick to me because you need someone to always tell you when to stop and limit how you get yourself involved in gambling all the time. We may have the best of risk management applied in gambling but having someone you love telling you when to stop is a kind of feeling of care that you’ll cherish and convince you to actually stop when you have to.

You had fun and only lost 25 so overall not a bad experience. I'll bet there are many others who have had much different stories, some good and most bad lol. I will never have this issue as my wife hates boats, she gets nauseous when she gets on 1 so we avoid them.

Well, I am not married. So I can say I have gambled with my wife, because I don't have one to gamble with.
Though, even if I had a wife I would be a little bit hesitant to gamble alongside with her.

I would feel a little bit worried of her getting addicted to gambling in the long term if she gets hooked up to slots or roulette. And I would feel specially guilty if she ended up getting addicted to gambling because I happened to introduce her to this ecosystem.

I would rather to continue to gamble alone and manage my own bankroll and finances. Better save than sorry, as it is said by so many people.

I don't have ideas or thinks what if we gambling together and can't imagine what could happens or how much I will lose the money because we could split the money between the two of us.

I didn’t have any experience gambling with my wife since she doesn’t like taking risk. The closest thing we do gambling together is she is just watching from behind on what I’m doing but he never get involved or want a decision making.

Well, we have different wife characteristics. Most important is we enjoy being together regardless what we do and differences.

Seeing op getting along with his wife was nice and it is more cool since they were able to get along with each other because not every couples will understand each other not to talk of playing games together. However, one thing I am not that comfortable with is that she shouldn't be too use to it so she wouldn't get addicted. But if only her husband can place an eye on her and keep her restricted from gambling regularly.

I’ve never done this before, and even though I like to gamble, I’ve never thought of asking my partner to gamble with me. But if I found out that my partner also likes to gamble, I might be surprised because I’ve never brought up the topic of gambling with him I keep my gambling activities private from my family and my partner.
But it might be a different story if he were the one to bring up the topic of gambling, especially if he admitted that he likes to gamble himself.

That's a good experience because some people can't even try to talk their spouse into gambling because their spouse wouldn't give a listening to them as they have seen gambling as bad, it's good to actually marry who understands you and is willing to try out new things with you not someone that will bring up issues on you mentioning gambling to her. Though for me it's not proper to expose yourself to your spouse about your gambling activities because they might use it against you tomorrow, for example, if she requests for money and you tell her it's not available, she will begin to tell you that you have used all the money to gamble so that's why it's not really ideal to relate with your spouse about gambling.

One thing I'm certain about this gambling of a thing is that, if you want to introduce someone to it, they should be educated on the negative aspects of it  and create awareness on self control and emotional so they don't get addicted to gambling which is very certain to occur from catching cruise to the real gambling.

I was in several cruises in Mediterranean Sea and on a "Caribbean" cruise and I was amazed that as soon as ship leaves harbor, people immediately rush to casinos, and every weekend it was fully crowded, even though cruises offer various entertainment and it did not look that cruise was fully booked. I guess gambling on a cruise ship has its own special aura. Nevertheless, I also tried gambling there and my wife also. We had played only slots, as all the tables were occupied and people play there long sessions. I cant say experience was somehow different from offline casino. We did not win. If I dive into pile of papers and documents left from vacations, I think I can find memorable ticket with $0.01 balance left of onboard credit after gambling.

This is too specific and narrow of a question.
As someone trying gambling here and there my ex was once interested in trying but I noticed she was a little too of an addictive personality. Like she was pushing me to play with more money and chase losses and constantly increase bets.

I noticed some bad patterns in this behaviour and decided not to have her as my company when gambling. I advised her to not gamble herself too not sure what she's doing now

Well, as long its all fun but I don't really like the idea because luck might not be on their side and when there is no money coming forth, they might begin to fight over loss of money. And then, its no longer entertaining. That is why whatever thing that one is doing in life or whatever decisions that one is making in life, they should consider both the risks and the benefits, for them to be on the safer side. Anyways everyone got what they like and also has the right to make decisions for themselves.

This sounds like a lovely and memorable experience. One in which you and your spouse had so much fun. I have heard about the casinos on cruise ships but I have never been in one myself. I wonder if everyone’s experience is relatable as yours. Also, I will put this in my bucket list for things I would love to do in the future once I get the opportunity to go on a cruise ship with my spouse.

Of course, this sounds great and intriguing, because it could create wonderful memories, but the main thing is that we don't lose too much and keep our tempers under control, which can happen. I'd say it's better to relax wisely and not just mash the button nonstop to see the results. I'd still prefer to play in measured doses, to get the excitement I need and not overdo it with the time spent playing. But for now, I'm just dreaming about it, because I've never been on a cruise with a girlfriend in my life, but maybe next year I'll be able to change that.
