They are playing football  . I also thought the same when I saw them playing yet here they are despite being destroyed by Germany in their first game which they lost 7-1 and they even draw 1-1 at a certain point. So yes they are gambling paradise for casino licenses but not only that, they are a paradise for any business who want to have their license offshore as they call it. I think they got it here normally although not sure as I saw their name for the first time in yesterday game against Germany.

My guess is more profit. Although I would not be surprised if there was corruption involved in the decision.

And that's what i'm talking about, we are talking about the worl cup, the best of the best, and the result is talking by itself. That 7 - 1 wasn't a cool welcome.

Only the next matches will show us if Curaçao has any chance for the next stage in the world cup, but being honest i don't believe they have a chance. We couldn't say this was a bad start, this was the worst start possible.

The problem is in FIFA they are too greedy and want a lot of money and they added more teams to the world cup and teams like Curacao got a chance to qualify and they did. Now we can see their quality and how bad they are. FIFA just wanted a lot more money from games and countries like this honestly dont deserve to play even if they qualified somehow.

Germany putted them at their place by just destroying them. I think Curacao wont concede this much against other teams in the group,but i doubt they will be able to get a draw or even win the rest of the games.

They could have saved themselves and their country the embarrassment by simply not deluding themselves into thinking that they were ready to play in such a high league. FIFA really is mostly to blame, as they basically put a toddler into the ring with Mike Tyson. But what does FIFA care about embarrassing small countries as long as they make more money?

Countries like Haiti, Curacao, Cape Verde, Uzbekistan and Iraq are just in the competition to suffer, they will concede lots of goals without getting any win and we saw that we Curacao face Germany. Expanding their world cup from 32 teams to 42 makes it look boring. From the opening game up till now I have seen enough good interesting game except for japa vs Netherlands and Morocco vs Brazil (these are the world cup games we want to watch). FIFA are just looking for every possible means to make money from the fans, that why they expanded it. And I have been hearing about FIFA thinking of expanding it to 64 teams again maybe by 2030. This expansion will keep reducing the qualities of the world cup.

The question is a bit surprising and confusing at the same time, but it seems that some users have already provided the appropriate answer. If I still know how football works, participants of a major tournament like the FIFA world cup, are determined by the qualification process, while the host/s gets an automatic qualification. Every continent participates in their various qualifiers. And is it not surprising that despite the increase in the number of slots, some big names still didn't make it to the tournament?. I think we have to get used to seeing new things, especially in football and sports in general.
