Do gamblers only learn discipline after losing badly?

Sometimes people need to lose or fail to get experience or learn. Some really need it have bad way to become better. In gambling this works also, but this is very situational. I do believe that gambler need to lose to learn discipline or to understand value of money. Many people who gamble actually never really learn, even after experiencing big loss or worst moment, because there is always urge to try again and hope to get the money back. i myself have experience in that position, feeling want to stop every time i lose, but still continue and repeat the same cycle. It's because who doesn't want to feel that win? It's just a normal human behaviour to go and chase for more wins as much as we can. But the thing is that we don't look at our losses, all we remember is our big win. But if someone will have to account for everything, it might be that we are still in the negative side of it?

Even after repeated bad experiences, gamblers actually follow those restrictions very rarely.
