Some people are so disciplined even at the start of their gambling experience, they will tell you the amount they want to gamble with and if they finish it they won't gamble further and they will stick to their words. The only thing that makes people to disregard their initial plans is when they win because it takes away their consciousness to know when to stop. For the first experience, it may be the same fate where the gambler will feel overconfident after winning, until he ends up in an unfavorable situation and loses more, then chasing his losses, most gamblers learn after a big loss.
I have a friend, he works in Japan as a breeder and he is very natural there, at the beginning of the story he dabbled and got a big win, but after a few months later he told me again that he lost all his working money due to chasing his gambling losses.

Most gamblers always try to tolerate their limits because they think that a little bit of crossing the line is not a problem but that's where they go wrong because at first they may cross the line a little bit but as time goes on they get used to it and increase it so that the original limit they set becomes invalid because of the new habit of crossing the line.

So here the most important thing is how we discipline ourselves because trying to stay within the limits that have been determined is not too easy but the more we try to discipline ourselves the more we will get used to it and consider it a prohibition that we should not touch.

The beginning of self-discipline is not easy especially when the temptation of gambling is always very large but when we are used to things that are considered not easy we can do and will become a normal thing for us to do.

Discipline is very necessary for a bettor , who can know when to stop , avoid greed, and have limits. Unfortunately, the way it is necessary for gamblers, they take it less seriously and realize it after they face a lot of losses. If they want to be profitable, then why don't they follow the limits? Another thing I would say is that the real challenge more than having knowledge, is to control your emotions in moments of excitement, because after sitting at the gambling table, people forget all the rules. When people keep winning one after another or face a big loss, a stubbornness settles in their heads that forces them to bet even bigger. Just like in crypto many people set stop losses, but when they face a loss, they lift them in the hope that the market will turn around, and that is where the big loss occurs.  So I think the real skill in gambling is not just knowing the strategy, but having the ability to lock your emotions and make cold headed decisions in any situation.

There are people who are disciplined enough even before they start engaging in gambling, but I agree that many gamblers had learnd their lesson and start implementing limits to their activities. Sadly, there are still more people who failed to realize that they are ruining themselves by not moderating their gambling activities.

In my experience most gamblers will never learn any discipline and go through life making the same choices all the time. Similar to alcoholics or drug addicts, but then maybe it is human nature that we end up in these cycles. Some people just pick up milder habits like a caffeine addiction, or even more positive habits like getting a buzz from exercise. There is a small window at the beginning where you will find it much easier to detach and break out of the routine as it's building, but it requires a lot of self awareness. After that it's much harder and requires a lot of willpower to rebuild your life because you quite often go back and start gambling again without even thinking twice about it.

Yes, I also believe that if a gambler is betting with what they can afford to lose, Surely they may not bother about analyzing their losses or tracking them because they will see it as a waste of time. Personally I don't analyze my losses, I don't even know where I'm going to start from if I start to analyze them. So personally I would advised that we should let go of our losses because even though you make analysis to see how much you have lost yet you can't recover them, instead it's even going to make you feel bad.

Well, if we are to spill the fact, one will say many gamblers only become disciplined after a painful loss. When things are going well, people often ignore bankroll management and keep chasing bigger wins because they feel lucky. Take a person who turns $20 into $120 and instead of withdrawing some profit, the person might just keeps on betting until everything is gone. It is usually after experiences like that that they start taking limits and self control seriously.
