An ordinary player would have received a red card and missed at least 1 game (probably 3-5, since this is an aggressive game that directly puts the player's health in danger), but son of FIFA did not even receive a yellow card.

I don't want to go into another discussion about how corrupt FIFA is and how disgraceful the Messi brand is – my point is this: is Argentina's odds (you can bet right now) at 1:9 undervalued? I think so, because this team has huge advantages over the unprivileged ones.

First of all, there is no need to mention Ronaldo at all, he was not on the field or nearby, there is no need to turn this into a fanatical squabble between fanboy camps.

Damn, I didn't even notice that! It's really true. The situation is becoming increasingly interesting - it's clear that Argentina doesn't need help to beat Algeria, but they still need "insurance" for FIFA's son even in such an ordinary game, lol.
By the way, it's worth noting that if Messi had received a red card, Argentina would have been playing with one man down from the 31st minute. At the very least, they would have been physically exhausted, but the kind referee helped, hehe.

This isn't the first time we have seen Messi being overlooked by officials for a foul committed, it's just that he is a favorite that giving him a warning card could take away the spectacle that every fan was hoping to see and as OP did say, "he's the son of FIFA.'
I did place good bets on their incoming matches and am hoping they deliver as they already have because I really do care about my money rather than the foul that could make me lose more money when am not being paid by FIFA in anyway.

You really have to take it easy and stop hating people because one day you might be in their position, everyone can't love a particular player or team, we have our choices but openly declaring hate for the Argentine team and Messi is outrightly wrong and you should desist from it.

But honestly, this was a complete foul on the Algeria player and it needs to be awarded a red card but since it has been overlooked let's allow it slide because most times Ronaldo do commits severe foul and it won't be rewarded too, we shouldn't allow hate for a particular person blindfold us from appreciating one's efforts and the history he has created in football, I'm not supporting Argentina either my support goes to the Brazilian team because of Neymar and I'm happy he has recovered from his injury, at least let them win before he will retire from football.

Maybe Messi has unlocked a special FIFA DLC where red cards simply don't exist for him.  If any other player made that tackle, people would probably be screaming for a red card before the replay even finished. But who knows, maybe some players just have better protection than others.

Glad to see this kind of topic being discussed because I was saying the same thing after the Algeria match(my national team, unfortunately). I am a football fan and I am not against Messi at all as he is one of the greatest and talented players ever but we cannot ignore what is happening on reality.
What bothers me is not Messi himself but the different standards that seem to apply to him, time and time again he gets away with things that would result in cards for other players, we have seen that when he plays for Inter Miami. In the last match, I honestly believe he deserved a red card, yet the referee chose not to act, knowing that in so many cases like this one the other players were given the red card.

As for the odds 9.00 on Argentina to win the World Cup is actually tempting after the first match. Iam a bit hesitant to place any bets right now but at the same time I know I will feel terrible if they end up winning and I completely miss that opportunity

I like how you're being vet objective about it and betting on Argentina to win even if you don't 100%  believe in their team. It's the same priority for me. The focus should be about making money as a gambler rather try to bet against them because you don't like them that much. I also think lots of popular players get away with plenty of stuff in football not just Messi. The ones that get to suffer from decisions like that are lesser known players. That Messi's tackle is red card every day of the week.
