Not that I don't get what you said earlier but what I'm trying to say its that some people emotions are always high even when they don't compared both close and big margin like you said because some gamblers stake without even considering the odds and in this state, they become vulnerable for the house edge to use, as in they will become an addict to the game, as it will favour the house edge the more and makes the bettor unhappy.

Yea, It's about the build up, the tension increases, and watching the game live when it clicks, such a feeling is not something of ordinary. The second scenario would make me feel happier and even more comfortable with the handling of my bankroll.
The first scenario would still be a win, sure, but it would be kind of a close call for me to realize I was almost losing all my money.

Even if it seems contradictory, I like when I manage to get some sensation of control, and everything goes as planned with my bets and the outcomes I have chosen. An example is what happened with argentina vs Algeria, most people went in favor of Argentina and everything went as planned for them from the very beginning, it would have been a completely different history had Argentina struggled and only managed to win by a close margin.
