Several gamblers clearly doesn’t know just when to give up when they’re on the screen. Rather than throwing the towel, some would just rather keep going harder and harder, hoping they’ll get a breakthrough that make them recover their previous losses. But of course we know that’s rarely the case in most cases. So I’m curious to know, from your own individual perspective and viewpoint, when exactly should a gambler throw in the towel? How many times should a gambler lose before they get convinced that it’s clearly time to throw in the towel and walk away?
If you ask a gambling addict, they will probably say that they will quit after hitting a big win. But, in the end, they usually come back once that money is gone. It's almost a natural pattern, money that is earned easily tends to be spent just as quickly.

But if you ask someone who gambles purely for entertainment and to fill their free time, I would say there is no specific amount of money that would make them stop. What they are really looking for is a way to enjoy their spare time and have some fun.

I don't think it's in the number of bets. The amount is where a gambler should think about when to stop.

If it is affecting you financially, then that's the time to quit. If it is also affecting you mentally, then I think that's the time to quit. The number of bets could be high, but if the bets are small, then it doesn't really hurt the gambler that much.
But, if a gambler is betting high amounts, which sometimes are money that is supposed to be used for something important, then that's not normal anymore. Sacrificing money that is meant for something else is a sign that a gambler may have fallen into gambling addiction. It's time to quit if that is happening.

It is wrong they don't know when to give up because that can attract them to continue gambling without thinks to stop. More worst they will becomes addicted to gambling if they lose control at the same time. We have seen so many examples of this so we must avoiding that happens to us and strict to ourselves.

The right time they should stop gambling is when they lose almost half of the total funds, less will be better so they will not spends more. No need to continue gambling if the situation is not good because that trigger your emotion to keep play without thinks to stop.

As far as I’m concerned, that’s the wrong question to ask. If you do it properly, you should only bet what you can afford to lose, so that if you hit a losing streak where you just can’t stop losing and end up losing everything you’ve deposited at the casino, it’s no big deal. You just wait until the next time it suits you to make a deposit, and that’s it. Winning and losing streaks come and go. If you really only bet what you can afford to lose, a winning streak will eventually come your way.

The problem is that many people don’t do that; they play with fire, and if they lose more than they can afford, it affects them.
Then I guess I’m asking the right question after all lol.

It’s true that there’s a right way to go about gambling but the realer truth here is that no very many folks like to play by the rules, for some personal reasons. And since they’re not actually playing by the rules, then definitely they’re most certainly to embark on a gambling spree more often and most of the time they clearly don’t know where to draw the lines, so answering this question correctly might actually help offer guidance for some folks who find themselves there and are probably asking the same question.

The best thing to do is to set a limit for themselves on how much they are going to spend when gambling, winning or losing, once this limit has been reached the gambler simply has to stop gambling, if they are unable to discipline themselves like this then they will not be able to stop themselves during a winning streak since they are winning or during a losing streak since they would most likely be trying to recover their losses thereby chasing it.

The moment you began to chase loses ,that is when you are supposed to draw the line ,I always set aside money to gamble for a week once I exhaust the amount I don't fund my wallet again till the other week and if I don't win anything for a month ,I began to relent ,maybe I will bet once or twice weekly ,but I don't take gambling so serious knowing fully well that I haven't won for a while , so if one haven't won for sometime the best thing to do is limit the amount you gamble with, then apply self discipline so you don't hooked in the process.

The best time to leave is when you have exhausted your limit or when a player has used all the money that was actually budgeted for that very day or week depending on how you make your budget. Secondly, in most cases I don't think knowing when to draw the curtain is what actually the problem, sometimes it could be greed or lost chasing. However, i have observed that these has been the major factors that has stopped many gamblers from walking away at the right time, they choose not to let their lost slide just like that, therefore choose the path of chasing it that will eventually get them ruined.

There is no generally accepted benchmark for gamblers to stop, or, as you said, throw in the towel. Every responsible gambler should have a budget. This budget should have a financial allocation for weekly or monthly gambling expenses. The ideal time to leave the casino or sign out is when you have exhausted the money allotted for that season. The emphasis shouldn't be on how many times you lose but the amount you have budgeted.

Trying to win back a loss in a gambling or high risk method is really not advisable. Even on trading this isnt a good way as gambling is pyrposely made to make us addicted to it more users will be harder to contain such control if the minds already set on it. Cant blame some who got addicted, with gambling thats why prevention is always a first thing to do secure and make sure you wont fall on that.

If I did not win while gambling for sometimes, I did not limit the amount of money that I am gambling with so far my weekly gambling budget has not exhausted. There are times but which is not really common that I may even increase the amount that I am using to bet as I am losing, but all within the weekly gambling budget. If the budget has been exhausted, I will stop gambling and nothing can controls just like I lost Portugal match yesterday, I am not gambling until next weekz no matter how tempting the matches can be.

That’s in fact a good time to take a walk, but the thing is, we really have to wait or continue player first until we’ve  emptied our bankroll first before throwing in the towel.
Can't understand properly. Whatever this is extremely dangerous thinking, mate. Waiting until the entire bankroll is empty is the main reason why people become drained. Then people start chasing losses with money that they cannot afford to lose.

Everyone makes the same mistake during a losing streak. They think "just one more deposit" and I could recover all the losses. And by doing this they face more losses. As soon as you touch your daily loss limit you should stop playing at any cost. Turn off your PC. Review the mistakes of the day and come back the next day with a fresh mind. This habit has saved me many times

I believe the number of losses after which a gambler stops is what matters most here, as it could be one, two, three, or more. It doesn't matter. The important thing is to develop a habit of simply stopping after a certain number.
A very solid point. Having a fixed stop loss rule is your biggest plus point in your betting life. It could be 3 losses in a row or daily -3 units or weekly budget exhaustion

Maximum gamblers do not lose because of useless predictions. Rather they lose because they do not respect the rules they have made. I log off as soon as I touch my daily limit, even against my will. There will be variance, you can not avoid it. But if you ignore your limit even a normal downswing will turn into a big disaster overnight

I think when something is broke on their lives or there's that point that you can't even do something because gambling is in the way. That's the most common red flags but still a lot of people just trying to ignore it. I don't think how many times they lost will be a game changer because in the end if you've got something to fund your addiction you'll eventually comes back on it unless they're perceptive to change but some gamblers aren't built that way. Most just thinks that next time will not be the same output of their choices or somehow they're hopeful.

I think from watching a lot of those documentaries or stories that has something to do with gambling addiction, most are throwing the towel when they're at their lowest, when they're not productive anymore as a human or they're broke as hell to gamble anymore. Because, if somehow a gambler has that reasoning that next time when I got money, or if my family isn't gonna reprimand this or anything of sort that will continue their habit, they'll gamble eventually. I think throwing the towel for most part are when it's already in the extreme.

Giving up is not the answer, but changing your strategy is. If you keep doing exactly the same things you've been doing and expect different results, you're wasting your time. If you see that you're losing far more often than you're winning, you need to stop, rethink your approach, and switch to the minimum stake until you find a strategy that consistently works and generates profits. Only then should you gradually start increasing your stakes. There's no need to rush, because recovering losses is a long process that requires patience and discipline.

You don't have to wait until you incur a lot of losses before you set boundaries and know where to draw the line, it is wise to make adjustments Early so you don't deal with much problems later on. Some gamblers fall into debts and end up I'm precarious situations before they start thinking of ways to cut down their gambling activities but that is a wise step to take as a gambler.

.. So I’m curious to know, from your own individual perspective and viewpoint, when exactly should a gambler throw in the towel? How many times should a gambler lose before they get convinced that it’s clearly time to throw in the towel and walk away?
Is it about how many times a gambler has to go before knowing that he has to put a stop to his excessive gambling or how much he has to loose before he stops or reduces on how much he gambles with? There's what's called bankroll management and being aware of how much one is already putting into his bet and how much one has lost so far.

If you've set up an amount you've decided not to gamble above, it's necessary to be disciplined never to go above that amount. If you're able to have good control when you've gotten to that point, we can then say that you're a responsible gambler but if you're not able to, it clearly shows that you're not a responsible gambler to start with. You don't have to wait till things gets really bad before you opt out of your excessive gambling. Once things goes out of control, it's only right to take a break.

I have one elder friend who used to gamble occasionally he told me once that the hardest part in gambling is accepting a loss because there is no fixed number of losses that tells a gambler it is time to quit it depends on the person's financial condition and mindset even responsibilities as well . What i believe is if someone keeps increasing their bets just to recover previous losses then that is usually a warning sign. If we think outside the box losses do not create a higher chances of winning the next bet. Each new bet is a separate event and chasing losses often leads to even bigger losses. I think a gambler should throw the towel when gambling starts affecting their finances and emotions even there daily life activities.

I think gamblers are supposed to know what to do at the right time, because gambling is not a source of income. Honestly, I don't usually wait to get hurt when gambling, because I'm not gambling to become rich overnight.

It is absolutely right for a gambler to know when to stop and call it a day, since gambling is a personal decision. So we can't really decide for another gambler at all, because losing is not a new thing anymore.

Some people are very smart, they will use their smartness to look for many ways to make money from gambling, these are the type of people that are thinking they will make money or make it in life with gambling. When they start losing and getting addicted or get addicted so much in gambling, that will be when they will know that they are not smart but foolish. Gambling should not be a way to make money but they will not understand untill they learn lesson from gambling themselves.

Online casinos loves making money from this set of people the most, until they one day wake up to reality themselves, it doesn't matter how many times a gambler keeps gambling in a day, what they must do is let their money decide when they will stop,  assuming a gambler is risking $1 on gambling activities every day, once they are out of that $1 it's and it must be the end of gambling for that day.

It all depends on what someone can really afford to lose, and once the amount is gone they have nothing else to deposit, taking their leave is the only option they have, and this is strictly for those who knows their boundaries because there is another option to cross that boundary, some idiots will still go into their bank account and move into their casinos balance.

There are other gamblers who will just play because they just want to try gambling in a casino, then it's okay for them to lose because they only deposited limited funds
so the losses are not theirs.

And if there are others who lose a lot of money, these are the gamblers who we can think of who are hoping to win a lot of money with a small amount but in the end they will deposit again until they don't realize that they are losing a lot in which is not a good habit to have
