I don't think it depends on how many times the gambler loses, but rather how much the gambler had lost over frequent losses. Personally, if I have lost already that cost me to have constant overdues and unpaid bills, frequent lack of income even if the salary is highly sufficient, and significant debt increase, that would be the time that I can tell that I should quit and leave gambling.

Losing is part of gambling, you cannot avoid it, but if you're losing your savings or your allocation is bigger to your budget and you lose your control then its time to stop and walk away and comeback when you regain your control, its not the number of loss you could lose a few times and be considered out of control and you can lose hundreds of times but you are still considered safe.
It's better to assess yourself and not count your losses.

In most cases you don't need to be out of control to be able to regulate your spending on gambling if you have budget and out of the budget you can't account how much profit you generate out of the number of times you play it is better you don't go broke before you see the need to give up completely or take a break. You are absolutely right. Betting or gambling is never forced and who ever decides to stay gambling or betting even when its not favoring them has himself or herself to blame for any disappointments that will arise as a result.

Every gambler or bettor ought to know when exactly to call it a day, or quit for good and try again some other day, since it's not like the game being played is running away or will expire by tomorrow, even if it's sports betting, though it might not be the same team, but there is always a team playing tomorrow that the bettor can place a bet or bets on.

That's the most important thing, a lot of gamblers don't know when to stop and this is because they want to recover their losses by all means necessary but they only end up losing more when they keep on gambling continuously. There is a phrase that best describes gambling and it's " the more you look, the less you see" the more you try to cover your loses by gambling more, the more you create a wide gap of loses that cannot be recovered. Fighting back to regain what is already lost is pointless because it's like digging a pit more and more with the intentions of coming out. What people need is a good financial plan(budget) for gambling that way their losses wouldn't be so big that they'll wantbto fight back, the idea of gambling for fun will make more sense if people are really serious of gambling responsibly.
