I hate losing so, if I am on a losing streak, after five straight losses, I stop the game and call it a day. But of I'm winning and losing at the same time, I will stop playing when I have emptied my budgeted bankroll for that day or when my time limit elapses. It's good to know how to stop the game at the right time on order to avoid more losses because the more you play, the more you run at loss.
You are absolutely right. Betting or gambling is never forced and who ever decides to stay gambling or betting even when its not favoring them has himself or herself to blame for any disappointments that will arise as a result.
Every gambler or bettor ought to know when exactly to call it a day, or quit for good and try again some other day, since it's not like the game being played is running away or will expire by tomorrow, even if it's sports betting, though it might not be the same team, but there is always a team playing tomorrow that the bettor can place a bet or bets on.
Except when one isn't after the winnings and potential profits but simply playing or gambling to have fun, then that's a completely different matter, he or she can continue to play for as long as the game remains exciting regards of the loses being recorded.
