Why would i wanna waste my time advising a shitposter not to shitpost?
Like what i have to say to them is gonna make any difference lmao 😂. They are not gonna stop, it’s hardwired into most of them.

Personally, i honestly would prefer that they keep shitposting cos that is what is gonna make them get caught; please don’t advice them to stop please, c’mon now where’s the fun in that?🥲
If they stop they are less likely to leave any evidence behind that is gonna lead to them getting caught.

Leave them, let them continue to shitpost so they can get caught red handed eventually and weeded out of the forum by the mods.
It’ll save everyone else a lot of time and effort.
Unverified posts does not really mean shit posting. There are usually risks that lies around it which can be misleading due to the category of the information being unconfirmed to be genuine as working instruments.

Perhaps the technical board should be treated as a highly crucial section in the forum that should not even permanent every visible user's to post there due to the sensitive required posts expected to be in that technical board.
I don't see the advice as something wrong neither worth the criticism of fun.

Expecting that such posters should be allowed and only get sanctioned with tags or ban won't profer solution to the threats because someone else may have fallen victim one way or the other before the realize, so don't keep quiet when you sees a user posting unverified informations in the forum especially where technicality is a primary aim of the section.

I think you should have said “Do not post unverified information on this forum” putting it to only technical board would mean to newbies that they can actually post unverified information on other boards apart from technical board, and again I will like to say this, if you see any unverified information posted by anyone in any board report that post to moderators so they can have it deleted.
Unverified information has no place in bitcoin talk forum, not even in off topic so repost any post you are sure is an unverified information.

I’m sure those that have got brains enough to reason would understand that, it would apply everywhere.

The technical board is a little extreme as you would expect every user that participate in that section of the forum to be really grounded in the technicalities about Bitcoin or those that are really out to learn and would take the initiative to ask questions rather than seek to teach.

We can see some users do that on B&H but, it’s what you can’t or shouldn’t try on the technical board.

I think where most newbies actually make mistakes is they try to make use of AI to pass an information they have no idea about and the biggest problem is AI can be very vague or even wrong in some cases and it becomes a huge problem for them when you ask them to defend the information.

Instead of spreading unhelpful information or AI content on the forum just ask questions and learn from the answers instead plus if it's about merit those kinda posts are also finely recognised.
Some people don't know, but they are pretending to know just to feel included, and when one pretends to know, it doesn't change anything; the ignorant still remain, and pretending to know can also lead one to make even more mistakes. Some people feel that asking questions about what they don't understand will make others think they don't know anything, so they just pretend as if they know.

The essence of the forum is to learn. I don't know why some people are not genuine in asking questions and learning, but instead, they pretend to know, and this is not even helpful; instead, it can mislead others.

One of the reasons why some people usually come here and then pretend as if they know a lot, is because they have seen that those that know more are always appreciated with merit for their educative contributions.
To some people, the reason why they come here to claim that they know a particular thing, is because they are proud people, they don’t want anyone to see them as newbies in cryptocurrency.
Lastly some people are just born liars, even when it is not necessary to lie, they still lie, coming here to lie about what they don’t know about is something they will gladly do.

All you are saying is true, people try to impress people forgetting that being themselves is actually the best way to navigate a sensitive place like this forum. The moment someone is pretending to be what they are not, it will not take long for people to get the clear picture and that will only breed more problems for such person. I think that is even the main reason some people resort to using AI and thereby put their account at the risk of being banned. Being original and confident is always the best approach and will enable the user to grow naturally.

I think he didn't understand it in the Ops contest. Posting unverified information on the forum is highly discouraged but there are boards you can mistakenly post false information and will not be severely punished, sometimes, will be completely overlooked. For instance, I've read different arguments in the gambling discussion board threads where members mistake footballers or clubs statistics for others and will either receive correction or ignored, that's not applicable in the technical board.

For you to respond to a thread, you must be sure that your post technically aligns with the thread. Anything other than that might bag you a red or neutral tag for misinformation.

Not all people, newbies are knowledgeable, experienced and careful enough to verify information they read but it's not the problem. If they simply read or create thread to ask about uncertain things, they're welcome by forum community.

It's only discouraged if they do that in posts, threads for teaching the others, and chasing merits.
They're reported here because they either wanted to spam or chase merit in fake ways.
Users who spread false/fake/unhelpful information on technical board.

One of the reasons why some people usually come here and then pretend as if they know a lot, is because they have seen that those that know more are always appreciated with merit for their educative contributions.
It's the most common reason and motivation behind their posts and threads. They want to do that for merit because they knew that educational threads, if are actually helpful, will be appreciated by community, merit sources appreciate such efforts by sending merit while forum members can send merit too.

Not actually common reason.

Its not really a problem if they asked question in that section, because this is somehow one of best way to learn.

The real issue if it happens they post what they think guide and other technical things without trying to understand the topic they are raising. If their goal is to chase merit then for sure they will just get heavy criticism there.

Their post might just get flagged especially if they shared false information and low quality threads in that section. If they don't have plans to contribute then will just post nonsense and copy paste Ai text better leave that section.

I can evaluate how much it is inappropriate to post false technical information in whatever board. Fortunetely there are forum guardians who don't hesitate to tag posters who spread false information in technical discussions.

I just want to share a personal experience when I mistakenly posted an info that i didn't notice it was false, then someone came and correct the info by quoting my comment. After that i posted an apologize explaining the mistake. Then guess what? That user who corrected my mistake in his reply, used that reply to red tag me and ignore my apologize. I think it is also inappropriate to use "posting false information by mistake" as a pretext yo red tag users.

I won't subscribe to the word being original but I will rather encourage we all be open to learning and adaptive to new information and trends. Even the most knowledgeable in the technical board once started as a newbie and then gradually advanced in knowledge through devoted research and study. Pretense will only lead to either false, inappropriate or misinterpreted information.

A forum user who wishes to engage in the technical board should adopt the SIFT evaluation method introduced by Mike Caulfield (2019) where he suggested information sources should be evaluated before sharing. This includes a four step procedure namely:

    • S - Stop
    • I - Investigate the source
    • F - Find better coverage
    • T - Trace the information back to its original source

I wonder why such people would intend on deceiving themselves like they’re deceiving someone else, why would someone come into this space and begin to brag about something they don’t know, instead of them making it obvious to people about their true intentions of learning something new, people do learn everyday, and their is nothing absolutely wrong with learning new things.

There are different things to learn everyday especially when we are in a cryptocurrency space, one conversation leads to another conversation, but when an account is a newbie in forum doesn’t mean that person is newbie to cryptocurrency, well they will tend to produce something attractive that would deserve merits, most of them involve the use of AI for some of them, which is why it’s better to get involved in a conversation that well suited to our knowledge and understanding, instead of doing too much for what we have no knowledge about.

Of course no one will see it as a problem if they decide to ask questions. Members here will be so happy to answer them and help them know the right thing they need to know.

A lot of them are doing all this because they want to earn merit and nothing more. I will like to ask those that were in this forum when there was nothing like signature campaign. Were newbies so desperate to grow like they are now?
Newbies are now trying to teach what they don’t know, some even post information they have not verified if it’s true or false, and all this is because they want to get merit and grow fast.

ABCbits is one of those that are constantly helping in giving them a negative feedback if he see them post false information especially on the technical board, I wish he can also do same in other board.

I believe that the forum is a big place apart from the technical board there are other several boards and thread in the forum where you can talk or discuss about what you have ideas of and also contribute there, it's not a must that one should make post where they don't have idea about because on the process of doing that you can be passing a wrong information to the community which could you some questions that you can't even answer because you have no idea about it maybe Ai got you some of the information which could still be wrong.

I am completely new and do not have enough knowledge of Bitcoin and its related stuff. Just because of this, I prefer reading more about this because it's always work being a student in college. I learn a few things about technology and learning, but here on this forum I have enough, which is helping in real life as well because studying and always being hungry for new things gives me more chances of understanding.
Life has never been easy, but always keep reading and learning; give good lessons, which always work in real life. I am regularly going on technical boards and other sections, but mostly my motivation is having new things and increasing knowledge with reading.
Hopefully in the near future I will be able to share my knowledge with others; this could be helpful for the community.

It should be general, the forum have its standard, no board deserve unverified information because people rate this forum to the extent that any information they get here is final, that is why it is good to always post information that is verified because of the forum reputation, which I think the forum members are also trying to regulate. Moderators are active always to curb posting of unverified information.

Yes the forum is a big place and we all are all contributing in one way to the other to ensuring that knowledge here is dynamic and not just focused singly on one aspect of bitcoin This is why i think you can engage in other threads where you have proper knowledge on so that people can actually learn from you, not you trying to be you who you are not by going to post about topics you do not know about on the technical board knowing that you do not have actual knowledge of what you are writing about but just to act as though you are technically sound in Bitcoin. Actions like that can get you singled out, ignored and even banned in most cases  for spamming through passing wrong information.

Based on my point t of view, I believe that the reason why most people post unverified information on the technical board is that they feel like posting here gives them the chance to grow their account easily, but they forget the fact that posting unverified information there literally gets them in trouble,e and they can easily get an unexpected tag for it.

Well, he's not trying to say that any board in the forum deserves unverified information. What he's saying there is that there are other boards where anyone can make a post, it must not be in the technical board because there's a reason why it's called the technical board. All information must be legit and verified before posting it there. Actually, everyone has to verify their information even though they want to post it on an off-topic board in other for them to keep their reputation clean.

The technical board is area reserved for highly technical discussion only and its not possible for a beginner to intermediate level user to join the discussion there. Unless you don't have the required level of technical knowledge, don't post there. I enjoy reading threads on technical board  because they help me in improving my understanding about core aspects of Bitcoin. If someone spend time reading post on technical board and do research on topics that are discussed their then with time he will have adequate technical knowledge to join discussion their.

I agree with you. Should have enough knowledge to discuss on technical board should have experience about Bitcoin protocol, transaction, wallet, node or cryptography. If there is no real idea about this, discussing there will be wrong in most cases. Will be considered as low quality post. In most cases it is treated as spam. But it is the best option to know and understand later. for example , If someone runs a bitcoin node. If he face any problem in that case, if he ask there are many experts who will help him with correct information. Great opportunity for those who are new to this field and eager to learn. In this way, he can solve a problem by yourself with the help of experts, then that person will be able to solve any related problem if someone faces it in the future. For this, you must first try yourself, you must be interested in knowing. when you feel that you are knowledgeable enough about aproblem that you can solve, you should discuss it with the right information that will be helpful to others.

    Some people don't know, but they are pretending to know just to feel included, and when one pretends to know, it doesn't change anything;
I don’t know how some people think but I don’t know what’s difficult in asking questions when you don’t know something, there is no crime in asking questions instead of pretending you know it and you will end up passing wrong information, or you will end up making use of Ai just because you want people to know that you have knowledge about something.

If you want to post on forum here, we have different sections which we can post, if you don’t have knowledge about posts in a particular section, you can move to the sections which you properly understand, and pass any information which you have to pass.

Some people feel that asking questions about what they don't understand will make others think they don't know anything, so they just pretend as if they know.
It’s better you admit that you don’t know anything, and you should be ready to learn, than pretending to understand things, and you going to be passing wrong information. Also you won’t even know things that you are suppose to know.
