Some of them even encourage gamblers to play and sign up using their links, making it look like people can easily win if they join through them, and until now I think this is still happening. In this news, one man reportedly lost around £80,000 because of gambling debt, and now he is asking for more control over gambling advertisements, especially during big sports events like the World Cup.

These influencers will do anything just for you to sign up, and bet they will manipulate you into thinking that you can change your life through gambling. These influencers will earn money for every action you take at the casino they are promoting.  You are their cash cow, so they will use lies, deception and manipulation, and they don't care if you become addicted; all they care about is profit from your bets.

Facebook and other social media google ads and the rest use to restrict gambling ads on their platform, although that was long time ago and I don't know if they still ban gambling ads display, bit I think have weaker government compliance enforcement lately as we are now seeing more of gambling ads on social spot like view boards and TV stations, this is a high risk thing because it exposes under age to gambling.

A man who ran up about £80,000 of gambling debt is calling for more to be done around gambling advertisements, amid coverage of the football World Cup.

Source: https://www.aol.com/articles/man-lost-80k-gambling-urges-065827000.html

So my question is, can social media influencers really not be regulated, or maybe in some countries they are already regulated and it is just not properly enforced in ours?
Well social media influencer are not regulated in my country expecialy in the aspect of gambling. If they will regulate it, maybe it will be in the future but not now. But according to this story, it looks like the guy who ran up about £80,000 of gambling Dept did that as a result of gambling ads. I know he may have started gambling because of the information he used from ads, but However he should not have gamble that much. Gambling should be something you do with carefulness and not being Carried away. This lost was base on his decition and not anyone's decition. It's is often said we should gamble at our own risk. There is nothing that can be done around gambling advisement because of him. He was just too greedy and he lost that amount. People should just learn from this.

Gambling advertisements on social media are becoming increasingly serious. Nowadays, almost everyone, young and old, uses social media, especially children. The tempting advertisements of gambling have been attracting children from a very young age, although its negative effects are not seen in childhood, they are addicted to gambling at a very young age. In my country, social media advertisements are not controlled, it certainly has a negative impact on the country's economy or on the next generation.

I do not want to say anything about an adult or young person in this regard. Because they have the ability to research and have the ability to make decisions independently. If they are entering gambling and cannot research about gambling, then it is their fault.

Regulation won't stop people from losing money gambling. If the same person who is complaining and demanding action had won, do you think he would be complaining?  Roll Eyes

Of course, everything must be done according to the established rules to avoid chaos, but the responsibility falls more on him than on the influencer who promoted the casino.

So my question is, can social media influencers really not be regulated, or maybe in some countries they are already regulated and it is just not properly enforced in ours?
Gambling ads should not be shown on TV because the negative impact far outweighs the positive. There’s no need to go through the proper process if the sole purpose is to attract users.
As for influencers, they must follow the proper process to ensure they promote gambling ads responsibly.

YouTube is currently a platform with a massive audience. This is based on what I’ve observed in my country regarding usage rates. Most of the viewers are children watching short videos. The concern is that this may also have an impact on underage users. Generally speaking, in countries that officially ban gambling without considering the justifications, this may not apply.

Yes, of course, if the regulations apply to ordinary people, they should be the same or even more so for influencers who are always receiving money all the time. Everything they do is an income stream. If this has to do with what should be paid, they should be the first. I think that a player or normal people shouldn't even pay anything, because the casino, gambling in general, is entertainment.

Both the influencers who advertise these gambling sites and promos that they rarely know much about just to get paid and the gambler who falls through to follow up on these advertised sites and losses much, share the blame.

This isn't the first story of ads misleading some of the masses and even though the victims might share in the blame, these ads needs to be properly scrutinized and regulated so as to ensure authenticity and integrity before more persons fall victims and they claim they were reckless.

This is what I was telling one of my friends who is an officer, that regulating gambling will not encourage the youth to show more interest in gambling as before, there are some law you cannot break because if you break such law police will come after you to charge you for the offense you have committed, I don't think that government use because of people losing funds in gambling to start regulating gambling, which is the system government is benefiting from gambling in a particular country.

Maybe for legitimate TV ads, they pass through the right process first before they are shown, but when it comes to vloggers and social media influencers, I do not think there is enough regulation there.

Definitely, and I strongly agree with that, it wreaks havoc when influencers are not regulated in our country, so many crimes were committed, and so many workers were displaced, and many families are ruined because of influencers successfully convincing people that gambling is an easy way to make money.
Now that influencers are banned from promoting online casinos, people are protected from fake propaganda and fake news about what gambling really is.

I think many countries have rules for influencers but the problem is that they are not always properly enforced. Especially online content spreads so quickly that it is not easy to monitor everything.  So many people take advantage of the opportunity to promote gambling as if it is a way to make easy money.

In my opinion not only casinos, but also those who encourage people to sign up for commissions should be brought under the same rules.  Because the words of an influencer can influence thousands of people. If there is a responsibility to promote, then there should also be accountability for that promotion.

When we consider gambling ads, they mean no harm than to propagate promotion for a gambling casino, this is just a mere awareness procedure, if government really want to fight ads online, then they shouldn't start with gambling ads because there are many other promotions that are being held on diverse platforms that does not even warrant clicking or going for them.

Gambling is just for entertainment purpose and this platform are making such promotions to make their platform gain more exposure, this is why some will also engage some celebrities to perform this role for them.

I just want to share this news and ask for your opinion because I do not really see gambling advertisements being regulated well in our country.

Maybe for legitimate TV ads, they pass through the right process first before they are shown, but when it comes to vloggers and social media influencers, I do not think there is enough regulation there.

A man who ran up about £80,000 of gambling debt is calling for more to be done around gambling advertisements, amid coverage of the football World Cup.
But if I may asked, did any of those social media influencers forceed the man to gamble? Or did they force him to gamble the exact €80,000 he just lost while gambling? Because that's the mistake some people have, gambling irresponsibly and later looking for who to blame. Because the truth of the fact is that it the fact that gambling advertisement is been promoted during a Sport event, since these casinos usually sponsor most of these events. For me, I see absolutely nothing wrong with that, because for the fact that they recommended a platform for you to gamble, they never guaranteed you profits. And as such, you are ought to have gambled with caution and not recklessly.

So my question is, can social media influencers really not be regulated, or maybe in some countries they are already regulated and it is just not properly enforced in ours?

I'm sure some countries have already enacted regulations regarding gambling advertising with influencers. In my country, it's prohibited, but despite the ban, many influencers still accept endorsements from gambling sites. They are usually sexy women or people who frequently share casino tips. They often operate live without the knowledge of authorities. If caught, they will be subject to our country's laws. However, I'm sure some countries still allow gambling sites to be promoted by influencers.

Influencers can be regulated. There have been several countries in EU who did it such as Belgium, Netherland and Italy. It's totally depending on how the regulators in any of countries reacted to it. Different country, different approach. Nevertheless, basically regulators has power to do that.

It's exactly the same with the TV ads. The TV ads also have QR codes to scan and codes to get bonuses.
It's called "gambling". How difficult is that to understand? Who hears the word gambling and thinks he can easily win money and then blames the person who advertises it? Everybody is responsible for their choices in this. They were not guaranteed wins.

So my question is, can social media influencers really not be regulated, or maybe in some countries they are already regulated and it is just not properly enforced in ours?

The only regulations that should be enforced are advertising for scam casinos and advertising to underage gamblers. I don't know any other form of regulation that is necessary. Even the TV ads don't care about anything else as long as it's a verified casino. 1xbet, which is an affiliate of 1xbit is sponsoring so many tournaments, and we still see their ads on TV all the time.

Yes, a lot of advertisements are shown on social media and they attract people to gamble, because here it is shown how a person becomes rich by winning a lot in a short time. Seeing these tempting advertisements, young people are getting addicted to gambling in large numbers. And when influencers promote gambling, it helps to increase people's trust because those who have a lot of fan followers are more known to people for various activities and if they are the ones who do attractive and tempting gambling promotions, then people get engaged there very quickly. Therefore, of course, there should be some rules and regulations in the field of social media ads and gambling promotions of influencers that how much gambling promotion they can do. Then at least the youth will benefit.

Social media is uncontrollable, if government puts an end to promoting the gambling ads, they will find a way to do it without even mentioning the brand or the word gambling but will show everything to do, I guess it can be only done with an awareness campaign from the social media and can include the social media as a part of these programs and they eventually will do that for free.

Gambling should be regulated if casinos are misusing the operational permit that is giving to them to run ads in strategic places that will not affect underaged children. The government knows what to do at each particular time and they can choose to stop gambling ads to protect the society and adolescents that can get influenced by the ads.

So my question is, can social media influencers really not be regulated, or maybe in some countries they are already regulated and it is just not properly enforced in ours?

Here in Brasil, regulation is minimal... ads on TV are limited to a brief written disclaimer about the ban on under 18years participating and a message for responsible gaming, yet there are no restrictions on the time of day these ads can air.

The situation online is even more unregulated, as there are not sufficient force to take down illegal casinos or stop the promotion of games that clearly look like scams... whether promoted by digital influencers or paid ads that showed between videos.

In my opinion, there should be better regulation, though I honestly doubt it can ever be done effectively. I think the focus should be on penalizing influencers, because it is easier to fine them, since they usually live at country and are more easily held accountable, than to go after the companies which are often foreign-based and difficult for the legal system to reach.
