Can't believe this is coming from some Ronaldo's fans, it's just so crazy to me. How can they blame everyone for his failure of scoring against Congo. Congo came out ready using a 5 man defense line and weren't ready to go down without a fight. It was a tough game for both teams and Congo did a great job defending. So I just can understand where the hate is coming from.

Maybe they were expecting Ronaldo to keep up with Messi's score line. Maybe that's why they were angry, cause I'm sure most don't care if Portugal dropped points, they just want Ronaldo to score and lift the world cup.

 

This X user is claiming that the bashing and trolling online have made them want to sit up, that's laughable. With or without the trolls, Portugal would've still come to the same conclusion. They're a big team after-all, and dropping points this early in the competition is not telling very good on them. Although Congo is not an easy team to deal with.

This is also another thing that made me not to have a favorite footballer because when you start speaking about the player you are supporting then others quickly attack you. It has long been noticed that people huddling in a crowd are very easily manipulated, especially if they are fans of any groups, and their actions are sometimes difficult to assess as actions committed in their full mind. Therefore, you need to be careful when communicating with some football fans, because in the fight for your team, some people really go crazy, and it doesn't matter if their team wins or loses. It's not for nothing that some countries have proposed fining football players if their fans commit offenses after matches.

Fans are very crazy. Most of the comment are laughable. Like for real, is that how they do. Went ahead to attack family and friends of my GOAT Ronaldo. I am laughing right now. One funny thing about this same set of people that are busy bashing a player for what they call 'underperforming' is if they were in that same position, they couldn't pull out who they are blaming, and their defence would be that the dude is a professional player and they are not, forgetting the fact that it's his profession and at that point he plays with his best and what he feels like will help the team.

People like this are completely retarded and should be ignored. If he scored like Messi, so a single change in one outcome and they would be praising him left and right. These people do not have any consistency, any logic or actually a working brain. Very true to me this Portugal vs Congo match shouldn’t have raised so much of tension amongst fans, the fact that Messi scored 3 goals in the previous match and Ronaldo didn’t score against Congo doesn’t mean that both players are not exceptional, the World Cup just started and who knows what the forthcoming days hold? Ronaldo might end up scoring a hat trick in the first half also can Messi too, both players have broken even greater records in the past so what is the point for all tension from fans.

It comes to absolutely no surprise to anyone on this thread that football or any other sport fans are crazy and do crazy things. Football hooligans are known for wanton destruction after a match and at this point, it is basically developed into some sort of a sick culture for these people. Most of the pundits and commentators criticizing him have their own countries playing in the World Cup, so sometimes it feels like they want Portugal to fail because they dislike one man. If people truly believe Ronaldo is holding Portugal back, then they should simply support their own country and hope Portugal crashes out early. That would mean one less strong team to compete against. But instead, some seem more focused on Ronaldo than on their own national teams.
