Personally, I haven't used that social network for a long time, my time is too valuable to waste reading trolls, and I do not consider that I extract anything of value from the information that is shared there. I still use X often to keep with cricket updates (not active in crypto as of late, but prior it was also a reason to use it), but I agree with sentiment, people are busy farming impressions these days and often post bait just to farm the same; it's better to bookmark genuine handles and just use those instead of reading the timeline.

There will always be fans like that. We know the enthusiasm of fans in this World Cup is really big. But I’m sure there’s no problem in the Portugal team. It’s just that the fans are too emotional and bring up issues that shouldn’t really be made public.

When those high expectations aren't met, they tend to get disappointed and very angry. In Ronaldo's case, he's a very popular player, and people constantly compare him to Messi.

When Messi scored 3 goals in a game, Ronaldo's fans felt hurt and wanted Ronaldo not to be behind Messi. Since the Portugal game was disastrous, they blame Ronaldo. Of course, this isn't the best approach, but it's normal in football. I say normal because I've seen a lot of it. Now, I don't agree with these exaggerated criticisms.

It's disheartening just that nothing is new but misguided words of this kind does not worth it, human, behavior is difficult it doesn't cut me attention basically I know perception in human matter alot some don't see wrong in their misconduct but will claim making sense in crazy thing. People must talk about things in other to criticize the other people in what they are doing.. This is also another thing that made me not to have a favorite footballer because when you start speaking about the player you are supporting then others quickly attack you. Often times I see alot of people criticizing some players for every single mistake, and sometimes it could be that they don't like the player I mean not Thier favorite player but even at that, they have no right to criticize the player. The truth is that Ronaldo is suffering for the poor performance from all the Portuguese players, he's at the center of the blame because people still expect him to perform at the levels that he used to perform in when he was much younger But his position on the field is not helping so much because he's just tucked in at the middle of the field in the penalty box waiting for touches for him to try and score. With this expectation many players may not really fancy it and may want to have a go on the goal on their own This is why we may find out that sometimes some Portuguese players may be more stingy than others with the football and then if the opposition team find a way to isolate Ronaldo, the other football players may find it difficult to play because they have already been primed to look for Ronaldo on the field and try pass the ball to him to score So I understand the situation going on in the Portuguese team and I cannot blame only Ronaldo for it, They've been generally very poor.

Yes, it has become a law of nature, sometimes we often see fanaticism that often acts and becomes an extreme obsession, especially when it comes to football fans, sometimes they like to do crazy things, be it in terms of privacy or finances.

I often see the craziness carried out by fans, when certain sports actions they sometimes support are beyond the limits of people's thinking in general, What's worse is that they justify using various means to support their team/idols, there are also those who do the most scary and crazy activities, those are fans.

There are some fans, when you challenge them against their star player, they could even be violent with you, they worship their star player like an idol meanwhile this person doesn't even know them, so I don't see this as a surprise it has been going on for the longest of time, social media is what gives a lot of people the avenue to express their anger, love and passion for who ever they are supporting in football.

Many fans are like that, but why can't some fan control their emotions, some fans are just very aggressive, this is the reason why I don't like to argue much offline, you'll see some fans acting as if they are the person you're talking about, I don't know how a right thinking person will decide to be stupid in their actions, I have my limits to talking about any player, as soon as I notice that someone is taking any argument personal I will just lock up because I have come to know that there are many mad people out there whom we should not even try to discuss with in anything that concerns football unless we are ready for anything.

This is football for you a lot of fans wants very high expectations from their top strikers and they don't want to be reasonable if the player is not performing at their high expectations. Ronaldo's case is peculiar because his rival Messi, has proven a point to his fans that he is still in scoring form likewise Ronaldo's fans wants to see Ronaldo, do the same and as he didn't you can expect some backlash.

I agree that it is unfair to be blaming Ronaldo, at this stage of the competition where every team is struggling very hard not to be eliminated in this first round. Besides Congo is proving that they are not a side to be pushed aside with their formidable defence so any top rated team will not easily pass through them without a fight. I believe that if Portugal, goes very far in this world cup that we are yet to see the best of Ronaldo.

That's very common to any industry either on entertainment or sports, some fans are just highly toxic and social media algorithms amplify the rivalry into an exaggerated, hostile conflict like idk and cant relate since i don't follow such big fandom but im a fan for some but i don't usually interact such community.

Honestly social media has made it easier for intense options to get attention. Some fans just want to enjoy and support their teams peacefully, but it's often the toxic and loud voices people that gets the attention or want to get noticed. The good thing is that you don't need to join every online argument because most times having fun with what something on your own terms is far much better than being mixed up in fan drama or conflict.

The problem with football now especially when it comes to star players like Messi and Ronaldo is that they take it too seriously and turn it to a quarrel among themselves. Messi fans are the ones misinterpreting the message, Joao Neves didn't talk down on Ronaldo in any way, he only protected him from taking the blame from the poor performance of the squad, he speaks in Portuguese the media misinterpreted the message in English.  Most for the fans posting on his IG are Messi followers trying to cause division in the Portugal national team.

I Read some of the comments on his IG page and I wan so disappointed, humans are really animals, many think like a goat they don't know how to respect people, they are happy when others are sad. I think as fans we should always think before reacting, the negative reactions can cause a player into depression, let's all be guided in our approach.

There's no concrete prove that those messages came from mostly Messi fans just to cause division among the players of the Portuguese national team, although these conspiracies are inevitable  but it's very unlikely with where the fingers are pointing towards on. Nevertheless, we know how fans can be really emotional when their best favourite player isn't performing as they had expected in order that they could have something to boast of. I just wish this doesn't affect the Portugal team in any negative way though.

I see this as a normal argument between fans which occuring every tournament and season. We have seen this in viewing centers regularly so it is not new for me. And these are the kind of argument they do that leading to fight and killing happened. And the best way to avoid such discussion is to stay quiet/mute and left. Fan cannot predict the performance of a player because he is not the same at all time and comparing two players always bring such argument. Silent is the best answer.

What do you expect when you are a top player like Cristina Ronaldo, you be wiling to take whatever public appluases and criticism that comes with that fam, he should be use to that already and make sure that I doesn't get to him in any ways, I see how hard he was trying to make a record score I the match but sometimes football has it own way of reality playing out so we should not take those online statements serious as compare to efforts being made to perform better in the next game.
