That's a clash of fans who don't respect boundaries. They're only telling what they want to say out of their frustration.

I wouldn't say that they're die hard fans but they're just the normal fans that are looking someone to blame for their disappointment.

Just ignore it if it's getting to your nerve and you find it toxic. There's already a lot of problems in the world and ourselves to put some energy into those.

The thing is that most of them are just too entitled; they act so toxically when a player doesn't perform as much as they had expected them to perform.

I doubt they have ever considered the mental health and the stress they put these celebrities through mentally. It is actually a very crazy thing for a human to do to another human who you don't even know except from the fact that he plays for your club and you support the club.

Let's not put the blame that should be on all the teams to the head of one man because he's the biggest player in the team, Spain could not find the back of the net in their first game but today they scored 4 goals, Portugal could not win their first game but they performed very well, Portugal coach has made it clear that if Ronaldo is fit he will always start him in their game so let's stop calling the players names cause he loves his country that's why he's still around but they should be ready to continue in the next world cup cause this is his last appearance.

Reading through some comments, I observed some people are thinking the fans are bashing Ronaldo. No! They're bashing his other teammates for his failure of scoring.

Can't believe this is coming from some Ronaldo's fans, it's just so crazy to me. How can they blame everyone for his failure of scoring against Congo. Congo came out ready using a 5 man defense line and weren't ready to go down without a fight. It was a tough game for both teams and Congo did a great job defending. So I just can understand where the hate is coming from.

Some are claiming Bruno don't want his progress, Bruno is jealous of Ronaldo blah blah blah. Meanwhile stats says other wise.

A "Big Chance" is a situation where a player is reasonably expected to score, usually a clear goal scoring chance.Out of these "Big Chances", only 5 are converted into goals (Out of Ronaldo's 6 total goals from Bruno, 5 came from these high-quality chances), missed the remaining 9. The "Big Chance" conversion rate is around 35.7%. If it is a clear goal scoring chance, it is the attacker's duty to score, a 35.7% conversion rate on big, clear-cut chances is below average for a world-class striker IMO.

So their assumptions are just delusional. Some went as far as wishing death on Bruno, that's just the lowest of low.

Fans are very crazy. Most of the comment are laughable. Like for real, is that how they do. Went ahead to attack family and friends of my GOAT Ronaldo. I am laughing right now. But it is not Ronaldo's fault. You pointed out the defence that Congo has and that alone will not allow him score a goal if the defenders are strong. And moreover, Ronaldo is no longer in his prime. Football fans have always been crazy. They have 1 tiny step between love and hate of same player. I have heard stories, when fans try to hunt and hurt football players that have missed penalty (when minutes ago they were supporting them). And they are not even gamblers, just random crazy guy who blame players for not performing well during important moment. I never saw fans that were both disappointed for the loss of their team so they are ready to fight, and fans whos team have won and they are also ready to fight instead of celebrating. Simply imagine that there is someone who is so happy his team won, that he is ready to punch other person in face... Not a single other sport have such crazy fans as football.

Perhaps these guys who are complaining and writing nasty things simply bet on the total number of goals scored for the entire championship on Ronaldo (or on this match) and now see their money wasted. I have no reason to be surprised by their (fans) actions honestly, because that has always been how some fans normally behave just to join two teams together in confusion. You know in life, being frustrated is one thing that can actually make you to start thinking off point or start feeling someone else cause it. They were only expressing their frustration, maybe they might have staked something they couldn't afford to lose and probably lost it, then in return choose to express or poured down their grievance that way. The thing I find funny about this whole issue that has been going on for days is that Ronaldo fans don't really care if Portugal wins as long as Ronaldo scores, and that is bad for team sports. If Ronaldo had scored, the narrative would have been "Ronaldo scored, his teammates let him down". At that point, they won't remember that someone else passed the ball to him before he could score. But now that he didn't score, the narrative is "they didn't pass the ball to him.
Once you make a team sport about one person alone, that person has to be good enough to create chances out of nothing for his teammates and score multiple goals, or else the team would struggle. 

Messi fans are the ones misinterpreting the message,  Most for the fans posting on his IG are Messi followers trying to cause division in the Portugal national team.

This is a lie, but if you want to believe it, then it's fine.
You can go to those IG and Twitter pages and look at the posts for the past two years of those accounts, and you would see that they've always been Ronaldo fans. This is not to say Messi fans are any better, but don't try to turn the narrative around.

Maybe they were expecting Ronaldo to keep up with Messi's score line. Maybe that's why they were angry, cause I'm sure most don't care if Portugal dropped points, they just want Ronaldo to score and lift the world cup.

Such things may always exist, because previously they hoped that the players they idolized would perform very well even like superheroes but when the opposite happened they attacked either online by commenting on their idol's posts or maybe directly.

In my country there have been quite a few cases like this even with direct terror sometimes happening. This is a disappointment experienced by fans but it is actually wrong to attack, after all, even if further action is taken, it is still the fans who are called attackers who are at fault.

At times it seems that the fan is the only person who can save the entire football universe while in reality if dropped on the field they will not even be able to keep their feet straight for 10minutes.

In order to be a fan I feel every person should be tested on their physical ability to play the game themselves. Only then can be be declared as a proper fan, pretty sure the numbers would drop by 90% if that is started.

This is also another thing that made me not to have a favorite footballer because when you start speaking about the player you are supporting then others quickly attack you.
