I have never experienced excessive addiction in gambling but I see many of my friends who are addicted, indeed his life becomes pity and needs to be helped, instead of helping him borrow money to do gambling again, I am upset in that position, actually we need to look at the person first, whether he is aware of his mistakes or not, because if the addict is not aware of his mistakes it will be very lazy for me to pity him and help him.
Addicts who are aware of their mistakes are better helped, give them the opportunity to change and improve themselves, this will produce good results, but it's true what Op said and I don't like to judge people carelessly, it's better for me to be silent if I choose not to care.

You are partially right OP. I say this because gambling doesn't only need compassion but also needs understanding. Compassion alone can't solve gambling addiction. Why then do I say understanding? From my point of view, before one gets addicted to something, it is a gradual process. Understanding of how it works first happens. Now the person has understood it, he or she then engages in it. Then comes total focus on it. Small small, addiction builds up.

Moreover, he or she must take responsibility for that addiction and not blame it on something or someone. If you are insulted because of it, he or she deserved it. I say this because it will always show signs that you are in too deep and it is ignored.

To ascertain the root of the problem, first identify why you started in the first place. Cultivate the habit of having control over yourself. Then you can escape it small small. Can't happen overnight

It's because gambling per se is frown upon by any society. That's why when we see and hear gamblers, the first thing we throw at them are all negative stuff. But there are gamblers that are really sensitive specially if they open up that they really need to hear positive things and not those kind of discouraging words. I know someone in the past that is really hook in gambling and that's what the got for her family. Good thing is that the last time I saw her, it seems that she has recovered already and back into her family and friends.

That is correct too ,I don't judge them , because many don't even have control over it ,if families and friends are aware,it will be good they help them ,even if it's to see a therapist or a rehabilitation center any which way that can help them , instead living a demaged life , gambling has a force that someone who is addicted maybe fighting himself,but it's not easy as we think .

You are right, if you want to bring gambling addicts back from gambling, you should not be harsh on them, but you should treat them with compassion and be friendly and bring them back to the right path. If you are harsh and fair towards them, instead of coming back, they will become more addicted and even choose the path of suicide by disappointing themselves. I agree not to judge the addicted gambler. However, they need to take accountability for their own action. I have not come across anyone who uses harsh words on gamblers who are addicted and are struggling to come out of it. But the truth is that people will always point out the mistakes of those who are addicted to gambling in order to prevent others from making the same mistake.

 Some people who go through the struggle of addiction may see the opinions and advice of others as something that is hurtful, but if you really want to solve your problem, do not even bother about how people give their advice or opinion. The most important thing is to just take the valuable content to find a solution to the problem.
