So, around 3 hours ago, Mark Zuckerberg announced Kunal Shah as WhatsApp’s new CEO. He is replacing Will Cathcart.

Now, my concern is: Is it Mark’s strategy to capture more of the Indian masses, as:
-
India is WhatsApp’s largest market.-
WhatsApp Pay and digital payments are strategically important.-
Kunal Shah built both CRED and FreeCharge and has deep experience in consumer fintech. Also, there is a possibility that Kunal joined because Meta is investing tons of money in CRED, so CRED can now compete with the Indian giant PhonePe.
Also, now that an Indian is the CEO, can he be politically controlled by Indian political parties?
What are your thoughts?
