If you end up with scarcity and that allows some people to get richer, the world will let it happen. All those tesla cars that made Elon rich? Uses a resource (forgot the minerals name, lithium? whatever it was) that will run out, and uses slave labour back where it is to dig it out as well, but he gets away with it because he uses a company to buy it from, and not directly owns any slaves, even the company he buys from doesn't, the local company does, and the AI that he is building? Along with all other AI?

Wastes 2% as much as rest of the world, so just one AI industry and we are spending 2% more. Hence on the long run, all these rich people are fine if the world is gone and destroyed because of them in 50 years, because they know they will be gone in 50 years.

Government needs to increase their capacity to create surplus and available resources to match their scarces effects on people and cost of living.
Scarcity is indeed everywhere but its severity differs from one country to another depending on some factors like the governance, the economic policies and the productivity and resource management as well, so while alot of countries are facing rising living costs due to global inflation and economic uncertainty, some have stronger institutions and social support systems that reduce the impact on their citizens, so depending on the country the scarcity defers. The government definitely plays a crucial role in addressing scarcity by promoting economic growth, creating jobs, investing in infrastructure and also implementing policies that make essential goods and services more affordable and well, although scarcity cannot be completely eliminated, its effects can be significantly reduced through effective leadership and sustainable development, at least thats how i see it.

Resources we are can access are quite limited hence the existence of economics.
And it's worse when the resource is there but it's poorly utilized.
Which is something most African nations are facing
Other countries are finding means to access more source to our limited resources
But they are more focused on hoarding the ones around.

Government needs to increase their capacity to create surplus and available resources to match their scarces effects on people and cost of living.
The main problem with African countries is bad government. There's a bunch of good resources in Africa but with bad governance those resources cannot be use to develop their economy.

The government do not care much if their actions cause pain or infliction on the people. They want to feed their mouth so it's not their business how others do it. The inflation, and high cost of living in these countries could be avoided if trades properly.

But will the government be able to? It's not even a matter of scarcity. We have some countries with limited resources but are doing well and advanced. African leaders have failed their people.

Scarcity is when there is limited supply and the demand is high, it is something that is really affecting economic situation of every country, if there is scarcity in a place, the price of the goods that is scarce will be very high due to the limited supply and high demand.

Scarcity I think is more of a deliberate act by the government, or big players in the economy that are selfish minded. They make goods scarce in such a way that a price they tag a product with is what it would be sold at. The people rush to buy them irrespective of the price because of their high want for it.

Quote
Yes exactly, but having surplus can lead to vandalism in my opinion, even though if there is a good supply from different firms, the price will be cheaper due to competition, while if it is available in excess, the price will drop drastically. The government actually need to find way to make goods available to ease price control for their citizens.

Government will always find a way to balance things up. Too much supply in excess can lead to other things that could even make living unbearable more to everyone irrespective of your financial status. Things needs to be leveled but not in such a way that relevancy is giving to one part that it comes in excess and other part has nothing to show for it.

Scarcity can be intentionally engineered in a corrupt government, and the reason is because they profit from it.

We could have government officials who hold a majority in certain sectors in the economy, and they know that creating scarcity would improve their profit margin, and in corrupt systems where there is no other body to checkmate these corrupt moves, scarcity would thrive and be the order of the day.
That's not even the only reason, they can literally keep people very poor and in trouble, so that they can promise they can be the ones who can save them. So they do not actually have to do good, they just have to keep making sure people stay bad, and then, their buddies, the other party, may take power, and blame each other, in turns.

That's what's going on even in a not poor country like USA, all those democrats and republicans are friends, and one takes power, blames the other, then the other takes power and blames the other and they keep in cycles that way.

I am of the opinion that we should not leave the taking care of ourselves and the economy of our country in the hands of the government anymore because the government no longer have the will-power to maintain an economy that is growing in tremendous numbers and also the citizens of the countries are increasing in population. One thing the government can do right now is to bring about policies that'll favour entrepreneurs so that we can all contribute in our own way by rendering services, hiring workers and using technologies to provide jobs and a good economy to the nation. Scarcity is everywhere, there are scarcity in jobs as such they will be scarcity in food supplies and other things, every part of the world is experiencing this but it is just that some part of the world decide to hide it so as to paint their nation as the best but we all know where there is good, you can also find bad and vice versa.

I was thinking Scarcity only happen to your country since that's where am experiencing the hardship but studies shows the Scarcity is everywhere and to further prove that, it says any nations without beggars without street survivals and without common crime such nations can be tag no Scarcity nations but no such nations. Currently Ghana is experiencing high rate of suffering because of cost of living, Nigeria is in a threats for the depth of hunger and increase in prices and other parts of nations all going through the same.

Government needs to increase their capacity to create surplus and available resources to match their scarces effects on people and cost of living.

For regions that are highly dependent on resources from other regions, it will be difficult to live, especially when distribution is blocked so that the supply of commodities cannot be done, this will cause suffering, hence scarcity and will be very painful.

The thing that needs to be done is to find alternative ways to meet the needs in any way they can try, as long as they can be independent in meeting their needs it will be much better to survive than relying on things that are actually very difficult at this time, for example when fuel oil is very difficult, I know this is not easy, but if it can be done, why not do it, and this way of thinking can also be applied in other commodities, in a precarious situation any alternative can be tried as a form of hope to survive and live better.

Printing more money and spending more is exactly what drives the inflation making prices unbearable in places like Ghana and Nigeria. The real issue is currencies losing value faster than people can earn them.

A printer cannot produce more goods and services. Therefore a printer only distributes wealth. Goods remain equally scarce, Nigerians are simply being robbed by their criminal government in the name of "fighting hunger".

The companies that are building scarcity, does so because that is what makes it valuable. If a company can sell 5000 items for the same profit they can sell 10000 items, they will not build more, because it's not profitable and there is no reason. Sure it would even lower the cost of making it because you are making more bulk, and it would lower the price as well, and they would be selling more so even lower price means same profit because you sell more, which would benefit people, but it's added work that they do not need to do. So most companies just end up creating scarcity to be able to sell.

You think there are real "waiting lines" for watches at Rolex? Of course not, if they wanted to, they can make a million of them, by hiring more people, and I guarantee you it's possible, maybe not million, but more than now, and that would lower the price, but then a Rolex watch would mean nothing, and they wouldn2t be bale to sell anymore.

Scarcity had never been or seen as one country's problem, every country faces one challenge or the order which can lead to scarcity, but government has to improve and create more job opportunities, most corrupted countries the masses suffers for it , and which often lead to scarcity, imagine my country Nigeria been in so much debt , inflammation everyday , government has a big contribution to scarcity and that is why it always affect globally .
That is the reason you see different countries in the world are doing their possible best to eliminate bad leaders which is the economy that is affecting business men and women globally, bad politicians in some countries are the ones causing those challenges because they know that this is the way to make funds from government accounts once they approve some funds for inflation elimination, when they are out from the office before you will know how much they have stolen from government accounts and it will be difficult for such group of government on power to touch the funds to some investment that will expose them to the new government that will take over from them.

In a capitalist world the trajectory is constructed in a way that limited production is the way to control who has power and who can make a choice hence the choice and decision of the people lays in the hands of the capitalist, and then the 1% of the 1% which is the current 0.1% is created and that is the wealth gap that makes the leaders and rich remain in the position, this might not make sense in writing but if you take a good look at countries you mention you will see that their is no competition in production instead their is growth in monopoly that makes things more scarcity. However scarcity is a good tool for growth but is used in the wrong direction.

There is nothing wrong in foreign investors having interest on your natural resources because as a nation, you need foreign investment, most countries have foreign minister and ambassadors, they all work together to market the country to other people. However, it becomes a problem to me when they try to sell the resources to a particular country or groups because of behind deal that has already been seal before the public was later concluded and that gives room for massive corruption and public looting.

The oil barrels produced in Nigeria, the government has borrowed money from the foreign companies that are extracting oil here, so everyday that the government are extracting some barrels of oil, there is a percentage that goes to them, which shorting the amount the government makes in a day. As of that's the worst, the crude oil are not refined in Nigeria as the government doesn't have one working refinery. They sell this crude oil at cheap rate to other countries and rebuy at high price to use the refined oil for motorcycle and others.

If they explain how useless some government are, you will never understand them and I think my government are the worst if you compare them to other countries.

There are scarcities that are manually induced for political concerns, just like we're facing in my country. We've enough resources that can generate enough electricity for the whole country, but there is poor electricity supply in the country. There are refineries which has been abandoned of which can create jobs for lots of people and make these natural gasses available at a much cheaper prices, but there is scarcity of jobs, fuel is expensive and politicians  export oil and import fuel while we are an oil producing nation, so the politicians induces scarcity by themselves to program the country to function in a certain kind of way to their own advantage.
