If they change to Binane, they would become the rest exchanges that charge higher fee in order to generate bigger tax for the government Grin
Which means exchanges like OKX are charging higher fee from EU users?

Honestly, binance under CZ and up till today has faced the most challenges than other exchanges and yet they still stand tall and strong. I believe they will also survive this. They are definitely appealing this one. Let's wait for the drama.
What do you expect? The regulators and government in short prefer to first go to the ones that have the highest customers because most of their citizens will be using such site.

Maybe if they changed their name to Binane, they would have a better chance?  Cool
Use DEX, reject CEX, let it be the new motto of the EU Smiley

Joking aside, I wouldn't actually be surprised if they set up a new company with a different name and try to weasel their way in this way!
After all they had Binance(us) and Binance(com), which should have been different companies under different rules and we all know what happened!

The EU is not rejecting CEXes, it rejects CEXes that think this is still the wild wild west and wants to still deal like they used to. Remember the outrage when, after the FTX collapse, the first thing that was added to the set of regulations was to keep clients' money in separate accounts from the company's money? You want access to the second biggest market, and you don't want to follow any rules, guarantee any customer funds, or be left alone promoting every pump and dump with no repercussions?
Well, too bad!

Let's be honest here, those current CEX have almost nothing to do with exchanging coins anymore!
It's trading, gambling, IPOs, RWA, memes, NFT, lending, almost anything other than actually exchanging BTC for LTC!

So yeah, if you cust want to swap coins, use a NO KYC DEX, if you want to lose your money in promoted, advertised ponzi schemes, use Binance!

We can like them or not, but reducing competition is not something that improves.

Oh, like when CZ stabbed FTX in the back?

Oh, like when CZ stabbed FTX in the back?
Some people really did not like what CZ did to FTX. CZ wanted to distant himself like he know the business, sold FTT which makes the token price went south massively. SBF was destabilized which caused the exchange to be hacked. People lost huge amount of money because of what CZ did to FTT and FTX. It remained just little that solana which was linked to these to also fail. I can remember solana got to $8 but it was ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin that saved ethereum with his tweet.

About regulations, this is what the OKX founder and CEO said about Binance in a tweet on X

This is Binance’s philosophy of doing business. They ignore laws and regulations, while misleading the public with bullshits.

According to public media reports and court filings, the platform’s so-called “best liquidity” included trading activity associated with risks involving money laundering, sanctions violations, and market manipulation.

I think Binance made enemies, although I still remember the Bybit hack that Binance and few other exchanges showed some help. OKX and Binance founders are both from China.

I know Binance will still later have EU license, but probably some people from EU will go to other exchanges.

Guys from EU. Which exchange do you use now or do you recommend for use instead of Binance?

I think Binance will probably appeal this.

I wouldn't be surprised if Binance and other large crypto exchanges don't employ some of the highest-paid lawyers in the world.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but it is of course logical to think that Binance is going to contest this recent action of the EU in the European court systems.
What makes highest-paid lawyers the best in the world? Is it their knowledge or their connections? I think that it's their connections with prosecutors, judge and so on and in such cases, connections aren't enough because this is an extremely serious task. I'm not a lawyer or someone into law school but this is just my opinion.

But, if I'm not mistaken, the likes of Bybit, OKX, KuCoin, and others will remain and will also benefit from this. If this is indeed an operation bye China, then they only eliminated the Zhao and Teng. Why are the Zhou, Xu, Gan, Tang, Lyu, and others allowed?
This is so true! It's not definitely an operation bye China because if it was, others wouldn't be allowed. It's quite logical to not allow Binance on the European market easily because Binance is one of the shadiest crypto exchange, they have a very dirty history.

Guys from EU. Which exchange do you use now or do you recommend for use instead of Binance?

See, here is the problem, people make it look like everyone was on Binance and that they must hop to a new one...
All the exchanges I used for bank transfer (never used Binance for that, although I had a card with it) are licensed here, Bitstamp, Kaken, crypto(com), so do OKX, Coinbase, and wow, 200+ more.

I think Binance made enemies, although I still remember the Bybit hack that Binance and few other exchanges showed some help.

So let's leave aside the lies about licenses, let's leave aside FTX...
- the demand to roll back the BTC chain because of the hack?
- the conditions to accept coins on Binance on exclusivity?
- imposing their own BUSD coin (now dead, oh wonder why???) on pairs and not allowing other stable coins

Binance made everything possible to kill all competition, well, they got what they deserve, and I truly hope they will not get a license here in Europe.

Non KYC ones that are advertising here on bitcointalk. Tongue
I had a very unpleasant episode with Binance few years ago (withdrawals disabled, took me more than a month to sort that out) and that was the last time I used them, or any other KYC exchange for that matter.

People lost huge amount of money because of what CZ did to FTT and FTX
People lost money because of what SBF&Co did. CZ only made it happen sooner.
