Gambling is luck, and luck is gambling, you cannot separate the two, research and analysis is not a must to win your games, if you're lucky you win and if not, even with all researches and timing, you continue losing. I think my luckiest win is $150 or thereabout. Maybe the person in question is having a beginner luck just like I had in my early days of gambling, I hope he/she doesn't think it is always that way and start gambling irresponsibly.

Exactly, because without luck on your side it will definitely turn against you at the end of the day. Some gamblers don't usually stress themselves about doing a lot of research, because in the end you still need luck to make it through.

There's nothing new in what you have just Said here regarding your friends, of course too much analysis doesn't guarantee wining. the reason why it's advised to make analysis is just for you to clear some doubt, because when you're betting without making analysis you begin to contemplate, should I bet home or away? Or maybe double chance will be fine. With analysis you need not to worry yourself too much about the option to give to a particular team because you have already checked their h2h. But even as that there's no guarantee of wining.

Please tell me the whole story. My friend bet that Curaçao would score against Germany, and then another friend spent a lot of time researching the Japan vs. Switzerland match and concluded that Japan would win, you know?
Then you can decide for yourself whether it was luck or not.

Anyway, the luckiest bet I've ever won was a 4-leg NFL parlay, something like that. I made the bet based purely on intuition. It happened to me this year, and I've already told the story several times, but I rarely rely on intuition alone. I prefer to combine numbers with intuition, and yeah never intuition by itself.

I think it is not right to judge the value of research by one or two results. Sometimes you can win by betting randomly and sometimes you can lose even with good analysis. However in the long run research helps you make better decisions than blindly betting. Even then we have to accept that gambling is dependent on the lake.
Personally I have not experienced any such accidental win in sports betting. If a jackpot or big hit is considered an accidental win then that is my most memorable win. I once won about $50 on a slot with just $0.20. That was the first big win of my life.

Yeah, it is very possible..  Especially in sports betting, it is more like still a 50/50 game..  Someone can spend hours doing analysis, checking stats and doing everything, then still lose.. At the same time, another person can just pick random teams without much thought and end up winning..

But that does not mean research is not good oo, it is, Infact it does improve your chances sometimes, but it does not remove the uncertainty..

This scenario is very common in prediction bets.
I have been in the physical gambling shops on several occasions and had seen first timers who don't even have idea about gambling but by the bookie just directing them that they should pick games and stake any amount and they just picked random and won the bets of their first experience.

I agree that no one can guarantee a win in sports betting. Upsets happen all the time, and luck is always part of it. But I don’t think most single bets are just 50/50 or 33%.

I believe that the research or analysis we conduct on the two teams about to play is merely to increase our chances of winning and build confidence in one of the teams. But aside from all that, luck remains the dominant factor, it plays a crucial role in betting. That doesn’t mean you should keep placing bets at random, though. If you keep doing that, you’re sure to suffer more losses in the long run, because you might keep betting on weaker teams and forcing your luck there.
