Have you ever celebrated a win too early?

I learned my lesson the hard way; it's never over until it's over. It happened in the boxing match where I bet, and in horse racing as well, its ok to cheer when your bet is winning, but not to the point where you are sure that you've won, where there are plenty of times left, you should never underestimate the opposing team or fighter, there are such things as come from behind victories and it really hurt if you experienced this.

Happened to me several times in the past especially when I used to be active in sports-betting.

The problem is- I was counting already the eggs on my basket and thinking on what stuff that I will bought after the win on a certain game. Unfortunately, the game turned against my favor and it was a feeling that was so weird and surreal at the same time. You could even say that it was a humbling experience especially considering that I was too confident and boastful at the end. I rationalized that experience and arrived at a conclusion that karma would hit you back at some point.

There is this joy that happens when the early games are going perfectly well especially when they are the high risk game. This often make people to celebrate too early. By my experience, I have had more losses frkm the last matching cutting my game than any other possibilities. Because of this, until all the games are settled, I don't celebrate the game yet to avoid depression.

It is nice to think of the future especially on the things that you’re going to use the money for. But like what most have mentioned, counting your eggs before they hatch would give you that false hope of security because it can ruin your expectation at the end.

Worse? It could even influence you to gamble more because you would feel that you need to gamble once again just to prove to yourself that you can win that certain game in the future.

Yeah had this experience on a bet, I was so happy the whole parlay came out as predicted just waiting for the one game to end on the winning side, had the cash out but refused to take it because it was looking like the outcome is here already just to end the day not even seeing any cash but where the celebration came from was I already got myself some few stuffs waiting to add the win to my celebration which was on going already just to end up not celebrating because I lost.

Yep, but it was not the same level of embarrassment as your situation, lol.
One thing I've learned about the "celebrating too early" incidents, is to really never celebrate until the game clock drops to zero or the final buzzer sounds.
Sometimes, this could lead into wreckless gambling, because when you eventually lost after celebrating too early, you will tend to get very emotional due to embarrassment, and you'd likely to bet on another match with everything you got. It's like you're gonna drain your pocket or make up from the embarrassment and go all-in.
So, be careful with that, don't get too emotional while the game is still in process.

I remember celebrating too early a couple of times. I remember getting all excited 10-20 minutes before the bet was won, thinking I'd won, only to be greatly disappointed. Op, you could have shared what match it was that led to this post, however, football is not a type of game to brag about when its still ongoing, players do not celebrate when they kick a ball on target, they only do so when it gets to kiss the net. Spectators should emulate this, one or two or even three goal leads is not yet a guaranteed win, I've watched a school football match that turned around after a 4 goal lead by the opposition, then the side with the zero goal, when they made the right changes, ended up winning the game 6:4 in the second half.

 I feel your pain!!. I have actually never experienced it myself, thankfully but I have seen it happen to friends and it's brutal. I can not celebrate any bet until the who game has ended because I know how that feels, after celebrating when your team is leading the game and unfortunately they draw or lose the game, there's no way such bet will not get to you. So the best thing to do as a gamble is that you should never celebrate any bet until the whole games are already won. In football we have 90 minutes and most times few minutes is added, even though your team is leading at the first half you shouldn't celebrate untill the game ends, that's when the winner is decided.

Well, it should be that way. But sometimes, our emotions get uncontrollable that we end up celebrating early even if the game has not completely ended yet. I know it shouldn't be like that since you are only making yourself disappointed if the outcome turns the other way around.

But we all know this is just part of being a gambler. You bet your own money, that's why you get excited when you think you are almost winning. But gambling is gambling, the outcome will never be certain.
