Yes it does and people will continue to gamble in as much as it's a game and has since inception also addiction can't be separated from gambling as long as it exist.

Gambling has rule and regulations and if not being followed addiction is bound to happen, most gamblers that finds themselves addicted never accept that they will be or are addicted and the increase in the rate of addiction is because most gamblers has seen gambling as a means of making money rather than for entertainment and are also not gambling with what they can afford to lose.

I don't know where you get those lots of news about gambling addiction because I don't see much news about that in my country. Are you referring to post made in this forum discussing gambling addiction or is there any other source of news that you get regular updates about gambling addiction. From what I know about gambling in my country, gambling addiction is not an emergency, definitely not what we consider a major problem here because gambling is a big business here that have added so many jobs to our economy. Maybe you are from a country that is still trying to evolve in gambling which is why people are getting easily addicted there.

You will agree with me that addiction is a a very powerful something and sometimes it becomes hard for some people not to fall because of how emotional they can be and in gambling one thing a gambler should prevent or avoid is being emotional because this can really destroy someone completely. When someone is too emotional about gambling, they will surely go after every loss they made and it is not good because the more you keep going after it the more you are developing or the more the addiction is growing.

I'd say most active gamblers either ignore those kind of News or convince themselves that addiction happens to "other people," not them. It's in human nature to always pretend to be in control until things get out of hand.

Just yesterday we read of influencers being paid to fake create content for a betting platform, and another influencer being paid to promote a gambling platform as well. Precisely with the many cases that exist in the end this is only used as a reflection if we feel addicted then certainly we can have the same fate but to stop obviously it is difficult to do because I think to minimize addiction with various efforts as gamblers always discuss in this forum will look more reasonable than quitting.

Quitting gambling may seem very easy to say but it is very difficult to do and I think the chances of quitting are very slim when it comes to gambling even though we have seen many cases where addiction has always occurred.

It doesn't have to be productive, as long as it's something that can be used for entertainment.

The last example I used in my previous post was cigarette; people don't use it for productivity, but yet a lot of people still go back and use it despite all the warnings that are clearly written on the pack.

Since gambling is a means of entertainment and gambling is the best means of entertainment, people are becoming more attracted to this gambling. And whenever gambling is used as the best means of entertainment, people become more attracted to this gambling. However, currently the young generation is becoming more attracted to this gambling because they see this gambling advertisement through their mobile phones, they are quickly attracted to gambling. The advertisement is made in such a way that it seems that gambling is very easy and earning money from it is easy and fast, due to which the people of this generation are becoming more attracted to gambling and are also addicted to it.
