I am just curious though, when we type the keyword “gambling news,” most of the news we see is about addiction. So if the coverage is mostly negative, then why does gambling still continue to become popular?

Maybe that kind of approach is not really being read by the people who need it, because if they read and understood those stories, it should help reduce gambling addiction. But based on what is happening, it does not seem to result in lower numbers.

From my view i feel there is only one key reason why despite the bad news about gambling and it’s addiction it still remains popular amongst every other addictions, the reason is that amongst every other addictions gambling is the only one that promises the victim(gambler) some monetarily compensation, the hope a gambler has that he might win is what keeps him going and constantly makes gambling popular, unlike other addictions that the victim doesn’t stand a chance of winning anything, a drunkard or drug addict can drink from now till tomorrow with nothing to show for it instead they will be harming vital organs in their body but a gambler have high hopes that his prediction might work and he will win some money and this hope is what will keep on fueling is urge to gamble.

One of the reasons for this is greed and curiosity towards forbidden things. When one out of 1000 people wins some money while gambling, it spreads around as if winning money in gambling is very easy.
And here people are influenced, they see others winning and they are also attracted to gambling to test their luck. Finally they become addicted here and keep losing the money they have earned and when they lose money once they gamble again and again to recover that money and finally they are damaged. If they win again, they gamble with the intention of winning again and in this way people become addicted to gambling and lose money.

People don’t get bothered by the news of addiction because so many persons are looking for ways to get money and gambling is one of the easiest way, despite win isn’t guaranteed. People will keep trying even if there are negative news about gambling, it might not seem negative to some persons watching, because it has become part of them and it is always hard for an addicted gambler to know his addicted.

Were you actually expecting the government to ban gambling due to the high rate of addiction? I don't think if that would be the best solution because I believe if gambling is ban today for example in my country, surely there are people who would still want to do it secretly and there's no way the government would find out.

However, one thing you must know is, the awareness started right from onset and people are still maintaining it till now. Of course the news also Open the eye of some gamblers why some people's eye are still close and this are the people that would learn the hard way.

They can't ban casino games or anything like that, because then why don't they ban alcohol in a country? There's a lot of addiction among alcoholics, and the answer to curing or eradicating addiction isn't prohibition; that makes it worse. If you ban or prohibit anything, people will find ways to do it, especially when it comes to casinos and entertainment.

The best they can do is actually to regulate the act because I know that there are some countries especially the Muslim countries that gambling activities are strictly prohibited or for say even banned but there is one thing I know banning something that the entire mass uses is hard because humans always find a way to manipulate the system and get what they want.

It is not that people are not reading those negative news stories about gambling addiction and the rate at which people are getting addicted. Rather, the reason why people continue to gamble despite those negative news stories is because of the little good news they see about gambling. As people are posting bad news about gambling, there are also some who post positive news, claiming that they won big money or hit a jackpot. This positive news also serves as motivation for many gamblers. People always believe that they will be the next person to get lucky, win a big amount of money, or hit the jackpot, and that makes them continue gambling until they become affected by gambling addiction. Gambling addiction will stop becoming popular when people stop seeing gambling as a way of making money

It's true that gambling has a bad reputation. Most people have a negative stigma about it, and this is because many addicted gamblers experience setbacks due to their misguided approach to gambling. It's a fact that despite its notorious reputation and the frequent ostracization of addicted gamblers, many people don't care. Some even don't realize they're addicted.
The only ones who can help gamblers recover from their addiction are themselves, not the news.

I think as a human simply knowing that something is harmful does not always change a person's perspective . People also knows the risks of smoking and junk food  and many other unhealthy habits  but they still doing it. If we see  gambling  it gives rewards to the brain in the form of dopamine.  An occasional win  releases dopamine which creates a good feeling and makes people want to gamble more actually get more dopamine.  When rewards come only sometimes instead of every time the behavior can become even stronger. Also many people think  that maybe the next bet will be the winning one and it changes their life.

Yes, the occasional piece of good news influences people's decisions to gamble, but it's only one of the main factors because, in the grand scheme of things, dopamine induced psychological effects play a significant role, as does the marketing of gambling through large wins and success stories. In the meantime, there is nothing wrong with viewing gambling as a means of earning money because the game is designed to give people the opportunity. However, addiction won't end until players comprehend the purpose of the game and learn how to gamble profitably rather than focusing solely on making money through gambling.

The reason why gambling has a bad reputation it is because of the way folks are going about it, the funny thing is that there are people who are getting it well I mean there are people who are winning in gambling and using the money well but because of the fact that the rate of losing is so high that is why it has a bad reputation. Yea, sometimes what people will tell you about addiction will not enter your head but it's only when someone realises himself he will decide for himself.

Let's compare it with the tobacco industry. Tobacco is not like gambling since it is more harmful that can quickly damages health and there are strict laws that forbid ads for cigarettes plus the ongoing awareness campaigns to warn against the dangers of smoking. What do we have despite all this? A giant industry much more bigger than the global gambling industry.

To resume, both industries are legalized by laws and juridictions. And this what does really make it accessible and in high demand despite all the damages that come with. Adopting gambling as an economic sector is what makes people call for it. On economy they call it "creation of needs".

People will keep on gambling just the same way we have too many scam warning publications everywhere, but people are still falling victim to scams, not because they are not aware, but because they believe they can't be affected, as long as there is a possibility of winning, most people will want to try their luck if they can emerge as the few who are not addicted but turn out to share their own success story.

Gambling still remains popular despite negative news because almost every gambler have the belief that they can't get addicted to gambling as in the case of those they read in the news. Gambling is still popular because it stands as a beacon of hope to get quick wealth as believed by many gamblers. Life is getting harder and many people just want to make money without too much hard work, so they see gambling as a possible source that will bring them fortunes hence the reason why a lot of people are into gambling.

The reason why gambling is still popular is not because people doesn’t hear the bad news about gambling but it’s because many gamblers believe that their own case is always different. Even after reading all the stories about addiction. Or people that lost everything to gambling, some people still think that they can control gambling or they will be the lucky winner. Another reason is because gambling companies always advertise properly, and their social media sites always shows people big amount of money that they win. Those winning stories always attract people more than the warning stories. Human beings naturally focus on possibility of winning, even when the risk is high. I think awareness  can’t stop gambling addiction. Someone who is addicted to gambling can still continue gambling irrespective of the warnings.
