Inflation is all about fiat losing it purchasing power. So when inflation takes place or happens, people save less because their money (fiat) are mostly used to solve expenses, due to how the price of goods and services skyrocket, what is bought for $5 then will be bought for $20-25 during inflation.

Is not the reason it is clear because when inflation then indirectly we must also think that we save will only make its value decrease from day to day so it would be very appropriate when the interest in saving is very small because they would be better off thinking about the safest way to secure the money they have rather than having to keep saving with a value that is increasingly shrinking.

In addition, when inflation occurs, the increase in the cost of living will increase and we must be prepared for the worst because it could be that the money that we think is big now when inflation occurs will not be useful.  This is the reality experienced now does not mean we will not save but in this condition it will be better to find the safest alternative to hedge that we have with investments than trying to save and cultivate money in savings.

1. Savings lose value
Cash in the bank grows slower than prices rise, so it buys less later.

2. Spend now mindset
People buy today because waiting usually means higher prices.

3. Money shifts to other assets
Many move cash into gold, property, or foreign currency to protect value.

4. Less to save
Bills go up faster than wages, so there’s less leftover at month-end.

Why do bank pay back less when inflation gets high? Why they do not increase the pay back percentage with time?
What you people usually do with the money instead of saving it during inflation?
I've not been saving in my local currency because inflation has always been high, we keep hoping that as a current government is leaving office and new government coming in, things will get better economically helping stablize our local currency to significantly reduce the rate of inflation but unfortunately, with every government that leave office and new one coming in, so does inflation continue to rise and the economy of my country getting worst by each day that breaks..

Now, it's only those who don't have no knowledge of what inflation is doing to our local currency that is still saving their hard earned money in the bank. As for me, every penny that enters my hand gets invested in crypto, and even if the price of crypto currencies arent rising at the moment, I still prefer this method because it helps preserve the value of my money against the high inflation rate of my country's local currency.

So during inflation, most people invest the money instead of saving it, investment mustn't be on crypto alone, we can invest in physical properties like lands and real estate, stocks/shares and so on.

What's there to save anyway, when life's survival itself has always been a big challenge everyday. The rich people may not experience it, but people who are living in extreme poverty might have been thinking to end their life instead than to face the daily survival challenges.

Also, saving will not beat the inflation, your savings will only depreciate its value in time. So what's the point of saving really, fiat should be spend to buy and save bitcoin instead.

Inflation has diminished the role of saving and made it less meaningful than it once was. But that doesn't mean we should abandon saving altogether.
It is still useful in certain situation such as emergency fund, establishing a solid financial foundation, and covering unexpected expenses.

There's no need to abandon saving, and what we need to change is the way we save. Instead of keeping the majority of our savings in fiat, we should allocate a larger portion to asset like Bitcoin.

Yeah, that's because of the price increase of what we've been buying. Instead of saving the money, we have no savings left becaus it's been spent to that more expensive goods because of inflation.

This is the reason why I have that understanding and compassion to people who's got a lot of challenge in their daily lives.

While others who are well in life say that people should invest and save but there are people in this difficult situation that they just can't invest or save even if they want to.

This is why you should invest instead of save or spend. You do not make any money during inflation if you save, because what you save will lose value. But if you buy bitcoin, or anything else really, then suddenly you are going to do a lot better. Many people miss that part and because of that, we end up with bad results. It's clear that if you invest, even take on debt (that you can pay without the investment) you should be getting rich.

The trick to getting a loan to invest, is to be able to not touch your investment at all while paying for the debt. Could you do that? Could you pay the loan with your salary? If so, then you would be paying less back, because loan would become small, compared to your investment and salary, which will go up thanks to inflation.

Some people couldn't even save even a little, because they will prioritize first catering all their basic needs despite of their high prices, thus saving ends up an option, and because no matter how they want to save, their limited income isn't sufficient enough.

But if you have multiple flow of income in this time of inflation, then saving may not be a problem. People can reserved funds for saving, no matter how big it is, because they are less likely to be affected with inflation.

I think there's nothing wrong if a person saves, it's either for emergency purposes or just to let it be shown that he's got some money being saved.

But it will be a better habit for that person if they save to invest. So I agree with what you've said that no money is made from saving but I think people understands that there's peace of mind seeing that you've got some savings.

And as you do that, you've got some investments as well that deals with the inflation. Therefore, better to do both if possible.

The trick to getting a loan to invest, is to be able to not touch your investment at all while paying for the debt. Could you do that? Could you pay the loan with your salary? If so, then you would be paying less back, because loan would become small, compared to your investment and salary, which will go up thanks to inflation.
It's not recommended to get a loan to invest. You'll have to deal with many things, interest and market turmoil.

If I've got some investment and I am in debt, I'll take a part of profit from that portfolio and will reduce the loan.

You have investment and yet, you're in debt and that will eat up your money and not just that, even your emotional being thinking of debt everyday and its due date.

Inflation is the most unjust tax: it hits the people with less spending power more than the people with higher spending power.
If you live paycheck to paycheck, every inflation uptick is going to hit you more violently than a multibillionaire.
This is the exact contrary of what our politicians are pretending when speaking to their voters, if you notice.

Where there is less purchasing power, especially those who are making low income, then expect that saving will not be prioritized anymore. Yes,  it's important like saving for an emergency fund, but how can people still think of that if they already struggle with their daily survival.

Inflation is something the government has not prepared us, because they focus more on corruption and stealing the funds of the government and secure their bank accounts in the first place.

For sure you cannot expect the government to teach you how to defend against inflation. Inflation is engineered to the ultimate benefit of the debt issuers, in this case... the government itself.
Government is stealing from the poor people in the country (the one that cannot defend themselves against inflation, to give to the richer: the government itself).

Your point is actually valid, but what they do is not actually as simple as like they are stealing from those poor people. What Inflation could do from the state is somehow it can possibly reduce the value of their debts.

This is the reason why those governments with high debts tolerates this situation. The problem is those people with no asset and just rely on their fix income is the one mainly got affected on it. But the real issue is not actually about the government is seems stealing from people.

But rather people should realize that they need to improve their lives and have those good assets that will appreciates its value over time to help them in this situation, because if they stay in their current situation there's always have a tendency that they might always got defeated by the system. Since usually it always favors to those institutions who issues those debts.

I think this is good article to read about those topic we discuss here https://eco3min.fr/en/macro-financial-regimes/inflation-regimes-structural-drivers-macro-financial-implications/inflation-complete-guide/inflation-state-winners-rising-prices/

Why do bank pay back less when inflation gets high? Why they do not increase the pay back percentage with time?
What you people usually do with the money instead of saving it during inflation?

It is simple. People can not save during inflation because they need alot of money to purchase very few commodities. That is to say the value of money decrease with inflation and what it can buy becomes reduced both in quantity and quality. So at least saving means you have more to spend before you begin to think of saving. Therefore with the effect of high level of living condition, you barely have left over or what to save.

But regards to bank pay back on your savings, I don't think that banks intentionally reduce there pay out because they already have fixed rate sort of. But the issue still goes down to the inflation that is eating up the money paid out. That is, the purchasing power of money in the market during inflation is already reduced.

That is why we need to hodl money in a currency that is hedge to inflation. For example, if you invest or save in bitcoin which is a digital currency hedging against fiat inflation, anytime you convert part of your bitcoin to fiat, you still have current value of purchasing power of money incase it (fiat) dropped initially or prior to your conversion.

I also advocate of investment all the time but there are things we neglect the importance and feels that it should be converted all the time into an investment undermining that it could affect us, if we don't have savings were do we intend to seek for money when we have need for it?, actually investment and savings are both important to everyone so even if the main focus and vision is on the investment but should remember that those investment will mostly grow when is not divided into serving the family needs and when is still on premature states, but when savings is also giving some attention it covers the investment to grow.

The last point is very accurate. The major reason why people save less is because their expenses are rising faster than their income.
These days people barely get a raise but have expenses already lined up and quite often, people spend more than their usual expenses.
This makes their savings dry up faster and by the end of the month, they are already waiting for their next paycheck.

You are right, the strong reason is because the value is decreasing, but yes not everyone understands this direction so there are still people who keep saving either themselves or in the bank and even then it is not wrong also because the goal is good, namely saving which of course this is not bad behavior.

But to look from a safe angle of course investing is better even though it has a risk side as well. And giving advice of course, saving and investing are both good both have good goals it's just that there are differences that can be considered.

Not a bad idea indeed, as keeping cash in the bank gets children to save so well in their early years so that they can use it on a later stage. Taking the investment option would definitely have higher returns but it has a high risk of being the cause of loss. These two types of financial options can be understood to know the correct course of action to take so as to be able to have an insurance of our assets forever.

Common respond from many people why prefer for saving money in the bank than put money for investment assets, right now many people scare about risk from investment indeed many investment kinds offering high return but still many people scare one sid only about risk from investment.
Personally about assets inflation depend on someone mentality when having money will allocate all as saving or increase it by investing at the right investment way, know wrll about risk and understood how avoid risk when investing money as investment assets.

It's a no brainer, unless the minimum wage increase at the rate of inflation, it is literally impossible for some one to have the purchasing power he had before talk more of saving. Inflation and deflation moves and upward and downward trend but one thing that is constant is inflation will always occur overtime.

The only people that benefits from rapid inflation is those business owners that buys goods in bulk and hoarde them the price reaches market cap, then they cash out on the profit margin

Why do bank pay back less when inflation gets high? Why they do not increase the pay back percentage with time?
What you people usually do with the money instead of saving it during inflation?

If someone really wants to save money, then such a person will be able to do it: he will not buy water in a store, but disperse it through a filter. He will fix clothes, sew and glue them if the clothes are torn. He will forget about buying brands. And who needs them at all, superfast fashion has long been recognized as a phenomenon aimed at taking money away from people as soon as possible, rather than making clothes comfortable and durable. In general, if a person has willpower, then he is not afraid of inflation through economy.

Inflation has diminished the role of saving and made it less meaningful than it once was. But that doesn't mean we should abandon saving altogether.
While in elementary school up to college education the emphasis on teaching about storage of money to earn profit from bank interest has constantly being about vocalised than investment. And a lot of people has grown with this idea of having their chunks of money saved in the bank without considering investment on contemporary digital assets that doesn't only save their funds from losing value but also adding in profit overtime.

The problem as I see it from my immediate surroundings is more about limited knowledge among people on how to combat inflation using digital assets like bitcoin.

The conversation about inflation is truly endless, isn't it? Naturally, most of us would prefer to avoid it, as inflation drives up the cost of basic necessities and everything else. Personally, I continue to keep some savings in the bank—though only a small portion—while investing the rest in gold, real estate, and Bitcoin. I believe that investing offers the potential to keep pace with inflation; ultimately, even though inflation is inevitable, we remain secure thanks to the returns generated by our investments.
