Both Mexico and Portugal seem to be kinda average(or above average) teams. I don't know how Mexico or Portugal would be able to win against France or Spain. Maybe they would rely on defensive tactics and wait for a chance to beat them in the penalty shootout, but I don't know about both Mexico and Portugal having really good goalkeepers. Having a great goalkeeper is a must when it comes to penalty shootouts. I don't mind some sports bettors actually trusting this prediction and putting money on one of those teams winning the World Cup, but I'm skeptical and I'm going to stick with the favorites.

Even though these teams look average, it could still happen, as France and Spain could theoretically be eliminated via a penalty shootout if they're unlucky against other teams—that's football, and it happens. Of course, the chances of these coincidences happening are slim, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Although, of course, if Ronaldo continues to be in the starting lineup, Portugal won't get very far, in my opinion, because he's more of a morale booster than a real threat to the opposing team.

I really love The Simpsons and I love this bit of fun that’s sprung up based on the show’s predictions. It’s really funny.

Let me assume that someone or a group predicted a final between Mexico and Portugal. In football, nothing is impossible but the possibility is slim. Mexico has not met a strong team and the Portuguese side is not fantastic. Countries like France, Morocco, England and Brazil are at the top of my prediction.

Exactly, I can say today that Japan will be playing the world cup finals against the USA and sometimes in the near future something like this actually happens but that doesn't mean I was able to predict anything I just said something random that somehow happened in the future, a lot of people said Argentina would win the last world cup and it wasn't because they were able to predict it but because they hoped for that outcome and that was all there was to it.

This is just a prediction, and I think their is no certainty in this prediction. This is Simpson prediction, and other predictors or sports analysts are also coming up with their own. However, these countries mexico, and Portugal are performing very well in their own group, and while these various predictions are going, the semi final stage will actually determine the countries that are going to play the FIFA world cup 2026 finals.

I know it's football, but when you look at the teams both Mexico and Portugal have to face to get to the final, I can say it is almost impossible for these two teams to get to the final. The believable part is that based on the path that these two teams are on, they cannot meet each other till the final, but getting to the final is the most difficult part.

Btw, there is another episodes of Simpsons about football World Cup. It is called "You Don't Have to Live Like a Referee". In that episodes, Brazil is playing against Germany in finals (and whole episode is about world cup btw). Germany win World Cup at the end. This year Germany is already kicked out. Where is "Simpson prediction" now? I think if I keep on searching, I will find even more examples football World Cups in Simpsons and they wont match what is happening on World Cup 2026.

Usually these are just for fun no one takes them seriously, but in the last few years, due to social media, things have been highlighted and also have a few exceptional good just because these people love to talk about them. The Simpsons was one of the best animated cartoons in the past, which gave good entertainment with good predictions as well. But everything that goes through these predictions is surely not possible.

Mexico is doing good now they are going to face England in the round of 16, where chances are high they can face elimination, and Portugal is also not having good performance. I am not expecting them to have a spot in the final with this level of performance.

Mexico os doing a wonderful job at the world cup amd I am very okay with them making it to the final, and if that happens even if Mexico faces a stronger team like France or Portugal, I will give them a winning bet despite that I knew it won't come easily but one thing is that world cup competition have it mastering and Mexico seem to have that world cup experience over time.
