Honestly, most players do not take time to check anything, but Provably Fair is indeed one of better new ideas in online gambling. Most people when they see the Provably Fair badge understand that they are better off and move on, but they dont actually know how the seed checking works. Technology actually works and it is usable, but it does take little technical work to check individual results and most of the players do not bother to do it. It becomes somewhat of two in one. It offers true proof to technically minded few and peace of mind. For the rest, it is more of trust signal than tool that is used. However, even as trust signal, it is important. Casinos that have started using Provably Fair are making real promise to honesty and honest operators are willing to back it up. All the players are not checking, but that doesnt mean that it is less real, only that number of people using it fully is less than it should be.

Provably fair is valuable, but only if the casino makes verification easy enough that people actually use it. Or, better, if an external company not related with that casino, can prove it.

Casinos invest time in this software, I think a one-click verifier and a plain-language walkthrough would probably do more for trust than just marketing the feature. But as said you need to trust who produces that information.

Those of you who might be pro enough in the gambling world probably know about Provably Fair.
For those who don't know, Provably Fair is a technology-based algorithm that allows online randomization to enhance and reach a new level of fairness and transparency.

Nowadays, many online casinos use cryptographic systems to prove that the results they provide are random and not altered before or after a bet is placed, ensuring that the gambling is proven fair.
Duelbits has also written an article about their Provably Fair system and they state that they truly implement Provably Fair.

https://duelbits.com/blog/guide/duelbits-provably-fair-casino

Is this Provably Fair system actually utilized by players, or is it more often used as a selling point for casinos?

I'll be honest that I seldom check for Provably fair of every casinos that I played. It's not that I don't like, but I felt that casinos are offering us that fair system and will not cheat the gamblers because they are not willing to put their name on the line just to cheat for few thousands of dollars.

It could be a selling point for casinos, but then again if the casinos have built their reputation here, then players might not do a check after all. And as far as my experience goes, I'm more of a land base casino player before, and so I'm just used to just sit and play.

If the casino is new I provably spend some time to verify if the casino really offer provably fair games, its hard to trust and rely for just a word they released. Because there are many rigged casinos pretend to be a good one.

But for those reliable casinos and been running for many years then have good trust rating to those people which frequently playing on their site. I will not get bother to know those details since people's opinion or feedback is already enough to know if they are fair or not.

I'd say it's mostly a marketing tool for the average player. Very few people actually verify the rolls.
But the feature still has value. As long as anyone can check the results, casinos know they'd be exposed if they manipulated the outcome.

I do not think provably fair are the same as they preached currently because most of the casino could use that as an access point for the player to keep using them at all time. Although, I do not think that online and offline casino posses the same risk factor. Most time it could be that easier to make winning on land-base casino than that of online, where they are using provably fair to lure people to keep using their gambling site.

I don't believe in probably fair anymore. I do believe in RNG, but not with probably fair after having a bad losing streak in our local online casino. It's too much that you won't even imagine that it could happen. Long losing streaks in Pragmatic Play, and even if you switch slot providers, the same results will happen.

I am not sure if it is just that the local online casino has a high house edge or if it is created by the slot providers themselves, but I can say I didn't feel that it exists in slot games. Unless the online casino itself edits it.
RNG, on the other hand, can really be surprising. Huge wins have fallen to me, and I didn't expect them. But as soon as I receive them and withdraw them, another long losing streak comes that looks so unfair.

In a sense, yes, it could be just a marketing ploy for casino to have this feature. But as gamblers, we can still fall for it as we connote "fair" to casinos not cheating as.

But there could be some if I'm not mistaken, we have been caught rigging the system and not really fair to us and just want to take our money with blatantly cheating. Of course casinos that have built their reputation could be fair, but we can't discount the fact that gamblers are not going to check it anyways. They are just there to feel us safe.

I think provably fair can be manipulated. I don't mean that it's giving you false results or you can somehow cheat it, I mean I feel like some casinos can cheat their players. I am not a dev or coder so I have no idea how but I have heard of salted seeds.

As said above I would stick with trusted casinos and feel much safer vs trying some rando new casino. Definitely wanna verify here and there no matter what casino you play on.

I feel like most new and small casinos use provably fair as marketing words nowadays. I do not think there are any laws or regulations on who gets to call their games "provably fair". Although trusted casinos actually can back up their claims that their games are indeed audited, regulated and provably fair. I like to think of casinos that are untrusted more as "probably fair". Tongue Roll Eyes

The only people who can prove it have to be able to read the open source code though... So I doubt that most people check whether a game is fair or not.

Most times I trusted the casinos to gamble on their platform because I don't have to go through the verification process to know if they are really providing for a provably fair games or not, since I'm gambling not to make business in needs but to have fun and get myself entertained on the platform, so I wouldn't bother much on this than to see a casino maintain their consistency in what I expect them to deliver for me.

If the casino uses a cryptographic algorithm for probably fair, then we may trust it as well, but still it needs to be verified. All the casinos seem to use the "probably fair" slogan, but I really don't know how to verify it. I believe most gamblers don't know how to verify "probably fair," but they believe the casino slogan.

If everything were fair in the casino, then why would most users be losing their money? Very rarely was the casino heard to have been losing; if the gamblers keep winning constantly, then how will the casino make money? From that perspective, I think there is a backdoor on the probably fair system that couldn't be identified by gamblers. Probably the developer would know more about the probably fair.

I did not gamble but one of my friend runs a casino we discussed this few days ago. He told me that it is a selling strategy. Provably Fair is a good concept because it allows gamblers to verify that the game was not manipulated or there is no cheating but majority of the players never actually check the hashes or verify the results even most peoples don't know how or some don't care about it. I believe it increases transparency and trust  but how it doesn't change the house edge or improve a player's long term chances. A provably fair game can still be mathematically designed like the casino has the advantage over time.

I don't check them instead just believe them will not trick users. If they prove trick users, they will get the effect and users will leaves them. I don't have a problem so far as I gambled on many casinos and have much experienced from them. The casino listed here will not trying to trick users because that can ruins their business so they will take care that. But some people verify this because they don't just believe the casinos especially new or shady casinos here.

Is this Provably Fair system actually utilized by players, or is it more often used as a selling point for casinos?

I have never checked it myself, but the presence of this option inspires confidence (and is generally a necessary condition in the current reality). The point is that the casino won't even try to cheat here, because even if one gambler out of a thousand or 10 thousand checks and finds an error, the blow to its reputation will be too strong. It is in the casino's interests to be honest - their winnings are ensured by mathematics. I always laugh at conspiracy theories about how casinos roll the ball incorrectly in roulette or something else to beat players.

Yes , I always check it and everyone should do the same before deposit anything in any casino. Trusting the casino is a bit too much right ? Sure , I can trust it as long as it's a very well known Casino.

There was a certain casino that got wiped out a few months ago that used to take money away from gamblers : Moneytree.games and their probably of fair that didn't even exist.

I do not consider myself technically skilled enough, or perhaps motivated enough, to verify the casinos' provably fairness personally. But I wouldn't say I just blindly trust them.

What I do is trust a community like this forum's, in which there are respectable members and much more capable than me who would report cases of abuse. And I think that, like me, the vast majority of us do, so I take this opportunity to thank all those vigilantes for their work, to whom many of you know what I am referring.

I myself am in a similar situation. I don't usually confirm the provably fair system myself and most of the time I don't even go through all the technical jargon. When a casino has a good reputation here on the forum and they have consistently treated their users fairly over the years, that is what normally gives me enough confidence to play there.

I also listen to the experiences of the other forum users because they will uncover a lot more problems in a shorter period of time than I could by myself. There's no doubt reputation isn't a sure sign of perfection, but given that I'm not good at technical things, it's one of the biggest things I take into consideration before believing in a casino.

No, in my opinion, this system isn't just a marketing ploy... The "Provably Fair" system truly allows you to verify the fairness of random number generation. 🙋

Of course, most players will never even try to do this. Personally, I've never done it. I'm too lazy. However, there will always be that 1% of players who've always dreamed of working as auditors at one of the "Big Four." And they will meticulously check the random number generation for every bet. And if they find discrepancies, they'll post angry reviews on the Bitcointalk.org forum. Thus, the "Provably Fair" system truly prevents casinos from cheating players.

However, this doesn't mean players can't have problems with online casinos. Or that players will consistently win. If the casino has a 10% mathematical advantage over the player, then playing against the casino is guaranteed to result in losing all your money in the long run. And then there's the issue of funds being blocked when you try to withdraw your winnings... Unfortunately, this also happens.  🤷

In my own view probably fair is a good feature because it gives the players a way to verify the results of the game they want. But honestly alot id casual gamblers don't take time in going through or understand how the system works, that's why casino too also use it as a trusty building feature. Even with probably fair, that don't mean that people won't win more often, but what it does is that it only shows the game's results is not being manipulated, but the odds still favours the casino.

Is this Provably Fair system actually utilized by players, or is it more often used as a selling point for casinos?
I don't know what types of games use Provably Fair technology, if this feature is a new adoption in the world of gambling, honestly I don't understand how iGaming operators use it. If Provably Fair technology is truly transparent and committed to game results, I would judge the system to be fair to its users.

As far as I know, every new technological system that is developed in the world of online gambling and this technology is used by most casinos in a short time, means that Provably Fair technology will increase security and transparency for its users to a very high level.

I think maybe I should first understand in detail how the Provably Fair system works, to ensure whether the Provably Fair system is proven to be transparent and fair, as well as the basic elements used by the Provably Fair technology itself.
