the most difficult part for most of these addicts is they do not accept they are gambling addicts until it is down on them. Some when you try to put them into the right direction, they see it as an attack on their personality and lifestyle . Some will say you are trying to control their independent life because you think you are a saint, etc. these are some of the attitudes that keep people from getting into the same mistakes and finding it difficult to leave. Disagreements and not wanting to accept the fact that they need help. Many addicts believe they are doing the gamble willingly and that anytime they are ready to leave they can decide to leave not knowing that these are just fallacies and false imaginations the brain is trying to make up to justify for one’s inactions , but what they don’t know is it will only worsen their situations because it becomes more difficult for a friend to fix and for the mind to change from it.

Yes, IMHO they're even the most vulnerable people that can become addicted to gambling. It's because they have the means to gamble and think that they'll not be drained by their losses.

I have seen people who were once adored and viewed as wealthy in my society turn into a laughing stock within the span of just 1 year or less, all because of gambling.

This whole thing would start harmlessly, you'd gamble a few dollars, win some and lose some and then start to increase your stake, thinking that the more you gambled, the more you'd win, but at the end of the day, you would have spent way more than you can afford to lose, and you'd start to see yourself chasing after losses.
