I am very sorry to hear these words and this must be a warning to everyone that falling into the trap of gambling is a very simple thing because we are all tempted to be able to do better and make more money, but in the end gambling doesn't pay, in fact gambling only takes, you can only lose money through gambling.

The biggest mistake that any gambler can do is to believe that they must get rich through gambling and before they know it they would become addicted to it, if a gambler gets to that level of total lose of self control it will ruin them financially and emotionally. That is the stage where the gambler might consider suicide because they have lost everything and life doesn't make any meaning to them anymore. But a disciplined gambler who has self control would always caution themselves about excessive gambling because they know the implications. You are right. There are many gamblers who  are addicted to gambling, yet they take large amounts of risk. Many  of them borrow money to gamble. I know many who  are in debt, but still do not stop gambling. If you spend money on gambling without accounting, it will not take long to go bankrupt.

Again, there are many gamblers who engage  in activities like theft and robbery to raise money for gambling. These are the last stages of gambling addiction and we can identify these as abnormal gambling behavior. We will also see gamblers who do not do any work for  a living. Even then, they continue to gamble by selling their ancestral  property. We should avoid all these activities. If we do not have  enough money, there is no need to invest in gambling.

You are right about the financial education aspect of gambling, which we believe since his friend is a businessman he should be fully aware of such, and I would say that the likely problem he faced was that he had no proper gambling orientation before he began to gamble because if he had recieved a gambling orientation before he began gambling, maybe he could not have fallen to the point of him selling all his property just to satisfy his gambling urge, he could have been aware of the basic gambling principles and how to discipline himself while gambling and it would have helped him set up a budget and also to play safe.

Well I have not said this many times but if you pay attention to slot machines patterns if you play daily, you will see repeating patterns sometimes and this should be enough of a lesson for everyone to stop gambling as the same results will happen in continuity. I have a similar cases, but it's not on gambling, but very similar stories in the past. I was about drugs, he fall into the addiction and then started to sell almost all of his stuff until his brother, who is also a friend of ours started to intervene.

That time the items is very expensive, but the good thing is that he sold it to my brother so when his brother knows what's going on, he approaches us and try to get back the things that his addict brother has sold to us. We return everything to them and the good news is that the brother is no longer a addict because his family help and intevene.

Have seen on my very eyes many individuals who were well off that their lives turn miserable because of this gambling and the sad part is that they refuse to seek professional help as they keep that on themselves.

It's a shame that some people can fall into addiction so easily, even though they have a family. In my opinion, if someone has a family, they're obligated to be fully aware of their income and expenses if they're a full-time earner. Judge for yourself: if he has a child, it means his wife was on maternity leave at some point. This means this guy was single-handedly supporting the entire family economically, working and providing for them.
