Good news for Bitget users

If this will be implemented I will be glad, because I have come across many Marchant trying to bergain price with me even when the price is displayed on ads. It is just very frustrating, sometimes I let go off some small change for them just to be free from their disturbance. Sometimes I even told them if they are not ready to pay the full amount I clicked on ads,  that they should call it a quit for me to look for another Marchant. And funny enough some will cancel the deal while some will still keep begging you till you accept. I even plan to report this issue to the bitget team but hopefully the issue has been raised. If this is true then it's a welcome development to reduce fake Marchant.

This will definitely reduce scam activities. I hate to say this, but Nigerians always find a way to use their intelligence to cause more problems than finding solutions. We are behind most of the bad things occurring in this country.

Normally, if this happens, what you should do is cancel the order and go and buy from or sell to another vendor. We shouldn't fail to report them. When wrongdoing happens, one shouldn't fail to report them, even if they later change their mind. Report them. Because if you don't, they will do it to another person. Bitget did a good job with this new update.

You can't cancel a trade after initiating it, except you are the buyer but for the seller as soon as you start the p2p trade, it's only when the payment time limit has elapsed that the trade can be cancelled so a seller can face challenges such as; some merchants might ask you to release crypto when they haven't sent fiat, in some cases you will even need to chat and ask them to send fiat that they will send and this is very bad because a newbie might fall for the trap of releasing crypto while fiats has not yet been sent to them. Another one is sending incomplete funds and also charging some self-applied fees. There are many irregularities on p2p platforms so it's a good development that Bitget will now start taking actions on offenders if they get a verified report. Sometimes, you can't blame people who don't report them because you can make a report and the exchange will confiscate your crypto until they have reviewed the report and settled it so this can cause delays which can take days or even weeks, so in order to bypass such stress some people will just prefer to settle with them amicably.

They can only cheat sellers who dont know their right from their left. Bybit has given serious warnings about negotiations. If the price is N1400 per 1 USD, it should be the price that the seller is to pay, nothing more and nothing less. Subsequently, the merchant will ask to pay less than the amount, but the seller has the right to report them if the money is not paid in full. Or better yet, cancel the transaction if it comes to negotiation.

I haven’t used Gate before .. I use Bybit all the time, I think it has reduced  since the recent express pay trend. Stuffs like that still happens though but they normally don’t do a wide range &limit  , it’s common with 10~20, 30~50, 30~40 and so on.. But it will be nice to see Bybit take actions too.

All the time I use it, it always happen. I have contacted Bybit about it before, they did nothing and I stopped using Bybit P2P.

Bybit arguably remains the best exchange for P2P. Anyone using Bybit and still complain over there is not using it the right way. Such person should go and learn from their friends.

This is absolutely wrong, P2P exchanges should be in a way newbies should not be extorted. There should be no loophole to extort money from anyone through bargain. You are among the person that will not let the exchange know what is right when you are mute and not tell their customer care the right thing to do.

You even did more to ensure sanity comes to BYBiT because it is worse am telling you. Sometimes I clearly tell the buyer that his negotiation isn't stated in his terms and conditions so why the bargain and all they do is cancel the trade.
I know I have not gotten as far as contacting the exchange support, but I always make sure to leave a review that rhymes with why the buyer cancelled the transaction and that is bargaining or something different in the line if how the buyers behave.

I always think, why not include your tax fees in the terms and conditions or it should be reflected in the price advertised because it saves the stress of having to start bargaining or giving bad ratings and that's why i think this news by Bitget is great and BYBiT should do the needful or lose more customers.

Despite the warnings, Bybit vendors still negotiate with sellers through dm, and some of them are still sending incomplete payment and if you are not careful; you will release coin to them at lost.
I am still impressed with what Bitget did here, they did well to threaten them to get account blocked and banned if it continues because the vendors are actually something else, they are always selfish and will want you to leave your money to them due to their selfish interests, but if they started to get banned, they will stop that nonsense begging during trading.

It is mostly happening on Bybit.

There is less price manipulation and begging with the new Bybit auto payment - it triggers within seconds leaving no room for price adjustment and begging which I see as a big step towards solving price manipulations.. I think Bybit are ahead of other P2p marketplace with some of the new added features. I could be wrong since I stopped using other P2p marketplaces though.

Vendors do no even need to be online anymore, Bybit does all the work.

This is great news from Bitget to their users. Atleast the numerous cases of users complaining about the hike in price during P2P will get to reduced majorly because the system have been filled with most vendors that tend to gain alot from the system. I've been in that tight corner once, these merchants are not holding down, because they're trying so hard to get their hands on every penny they can and this is purely against the system policy. There's a reason why they're vendors and they ought to abide to the fully objective why they're existing rather than dwelling on means to extort money from clients who tend to trade with them.

Bybit p2p is quite annoying merchant are always demanding for a certain fee from the buyers . For instance I’m trying to do p2p worth $20 they will be demanding for 1000 Naira fee which will now be later bargain to 500 Naira .  And well it kept going I had to stop using Bybit p2p and focus more On bitget instead, which is far better despite the the little fee , so yeah Bybit also need to apply such policy in theirs too .

And I guess Bitget read some of the mails I and others might have sent to them, especially the very last one where I mentioned that their p2p service is a complete mess. I knew handling issues like this was never a rocket science, except they were enjoying it themselves, but this recent development proves otherwise.

Oh that's good of you if you were part of those who made reports to them about the irregularities in the p2p platform, i believe they acted after receiving many reports. But i wonder how they were not able to discover these things after a long period of time or is it that they don't have measures they set out to monitor p2p tradings.

I don't know the method they will use to fish out those who are manipulating prices in the p2p service but before they stated this warning they must have figured out a way to deal with offenders.

The system can not tell what happened between two parties making a p2p transactions unless one party reported irregularities - the system can only be improve based on customer's feedbacks and complaints.

This is what I always tell my colleagues; don't block scam vendors, that way you're not helping the system, you are only protecting yourself and exposing them to others- make sure you report them to help the system and protect everyone instead

Do they have a way of detecting price negotiations that happen in PM or they will only act when one of the parties use the report button? I'm curious to know how they will be able to detect this if no one make any report. If this is something really new that they are bringing like detecting when someone is trying to manipulate or negotiate price, then it is really a good news. I think the verification ticks they issue to merchants that have lead to automatic release of funds already solved a lot of the problems.

Reporting can be the simplest way, but they can also design a system which can automatically do it since some exchanges don’t allow the sending of a personal number in a personal message through their platform. Once it's detected, it will be blocked from going through. Such a method can also be used each time an amount is being talked about on the chat, especially when the vendor raises the topic first.

I was trying to do a p2p transaction on Bitget this morning, then a warning notice pops up and below is the content of the warning.

This is a good news because all these online merchants/vendors been wan frustrate themselves. Imagine sometimes you go click on exchange rate wey dem publish for their Ads, but you go dey see different exchange rate when you wan initiate p2p trade with the person. I don see many complaints of people about how some vendors dey negotiate price outside the one wey dem publish, some even went to the extent of deducting certain amount and say that it is a transaction fee or money for stamp duty. I don see person wey complain say one vendor sef been remove up to 1k from his money dey tell am say na for stamp duty. But I hope that this news now show say the exchange dey see wetin dey happen or probably people don complain well well so if you still see any merchants wey still dey do those things make you report am so that other people go learn because the scam wey dey happen for p2p on these exchanges don dey too much. I say make I share the news for una here too.

Bitget is actually one of the major crypto exchange I used for converting my Bitcoin into fiat, and for the past few months, I'm very much sure that the high rate at which it's p2p vendors were behaving on that platform was really alarming and needed an urgent attention to it before it will jeopardize the reputation of the crypto exchange. So I'm very much happy right now that the exchange have indeed taken a drastic step to address this issue. Because I personally have been affected by this Naira/Dollar price manipulation by these vendors, of which I lost over #15,000 Naira due to miscalculation while initiating a p2p trade. And ever since then, I don't joke with monitoring it's price movement. So I'm happy for this.

Well, I have not seen it happen, but from what I've read in articles, those merchants are penalised with restrictions for months. However, the common consequence for these merchants is that their rating is very low, and customers will avoid trading with them once the rating gets so low.

Well, it happens, but you may not uprightly get banned from the platform but failing to keep up certain % within 30 days may lead to the vendor losing ability to create an ads and also lose visibility.

For instance if you're a beginner advertizer, you're expected to keep at 80% trade success order every month and as you rank up the percentage required increases.

This is why it is not advisable to be in too much haste while carrying out any form of p2p transaction because some of them will intentionally send an incomplete amount while waiting to see if you will notice it or not. the begging in vendors DM will still continue regardless this circular. it is just for every vendor to know their right and to refuse pitying any vendor that is trying to play smart with them. Good one for bitcoin and it is actually great to see that they are constantly working to improve on their customer trust.
